Oh sweet lord. I just bought this cheese Danish LAST NIGHT. It's like the size of my forearm. After I had one from Starbucks with lunch yesterday. I seriously cannot stop myself. Why are these things so damn delicious?!
I don't understand cheese Danish. Is it like a sweet pastry with savory filling? Why would you eat that? I can't even bring myself to try it.
Girl no. More like cheesecake on sweet bread. GET ON IT.
Oh. Huh. Yeah, that would make more sense, but it has literally never before crossed my mind that "cheese" in a Danish might be anything different from cheddar or gouda or at best mozzarella or something. I like cheesecake. I like bread. I may need to try this.
Ugh, now I want a sundae with hot fudge. DH and I are trying to not go to the store or eat out during the week so we can save money. Anyone have an easy homemade hot fudge recipe??
Throw ice cream on that. Done. It's actually pretty good and I've made it several times. The problem is I always want to make it again right away! (you can skip the chocolate chunks or replace with chips if you have them instead.)
Cheese Danish is awesome, I may need to look up a recipe now and see how many of the ingredients I have on hand, then either buy one or make one after my 3 hour GTT tomorrow.
I'm going to bitch about DH for a sec. I had an incredibly painful sinus infection for just about two weeks, went to work (I even worked extra hours the past two weeks to make up for doctor time), took care of the house, made meals, watched DD1. You know, was an adult. He's coughing and feels under the weather so he took the day off (equals no pay) and is acting like he's the sickest person to ever walk the planet. He says he has a cough, sore throat, and feels run down. Then gets mad at me for not having more sympathy. Sorry dude, as you so lovingly told me Suck it up
@sprocketsngadgets ugh I feel you on this. A few weeks ago DH was complaining about feeling sick while I was dying from the pain from the gallstones. He had no fever, no runny nose, no coughing, nothing, but he was acting like he was dying and was very annoyed at me for not showing more sympathy. What is it with some men and their man cold!?

This is why men can't give birth. The man cold and manstruation are very real things.
Holy cannoli! I haven't had sugars of any kind (not even honey) in 6 weeks and I'm 45 minutes into my GTT. I feel like my eyeballs are vibrating. I'm crawling out of my skin. Woof. Upside, I got to have a growth ultrasound and see my little man. He's frank breech right now and his cute little toes were right up on his forehead haha.
@jonesl12 got my package from lush today - the sympathy for the skin lotion feels incredible and I'm waiting for DH to leave so I can try the mask of magnaminty. Eeek! Is this what it's like to feel like a girl?
You will become obsessed with sympathy for the skin and you get to smell heavenly all day from it! I love me some lush!

My face feels awesome - thank you! Also, I was skeptical about the lotion because I have been using thicker body butter and this stuff is pretty thin, but it absorbs well and smells really good - like bananas but it's not overwhelming. Mmmm
Also, I just found out that the Pentagon released a statement today that active duty military females will be given 12 weeks of paid maternity leave instead of the 6 that the Army and Air Force were getting and the 18 that Marines and Navy were getting. (Paternity leave is increasing from 10 days to 14) No word as to when this will take effect, but unit commanders have 30 days to develop implementation plans for this and several other policies, including having a room dedicated to nursing mothers in any unit with over 50 females. I doubt it'll be implemented in time for me to reap any personal benefits but I feel like this is a really big deal; it's not often the military leads the way in matters like this (our insurance only started covering breast pumps last spring), so I sincerely hope this means bigger steps toward better maternity policies for all American women, since we basically have the worst maternity policies of any developed country. Squee!!
Cue rant. We FINALLY got moved into our apartment today after being put off for days for repairs. Well, turns out that they are STILL doing repairs as we move in. Officially since we got our key, the landlord jas had to fix the toilet, fire alarm, etc. He has our new blinds ready to put up. He left a screwdriver in our bathroom. The cabinet sink is missing a drawer. Our bathroom fan is hanging loose. He said he spent a whole day to clean the carpet, but he won't replace the section that the previous tenants ruined. Don't get me wrong. I'm super happy to have my own place... But for crying out loud... I'll spend more money covering up ugly glitches... Can't wait to find a better place in a year or two. And maybe a better landlord.
You guys are killing me right now. I can't decide if I'd rather be at Lush buying all.the.bathbombs. Or eating fudge/brownies/pastries. Or! Have a brownie while in a bubble bath! That could be a thing!!

That's awesome! It would be great if that would happen as of now, so you could get in on that. I hated only being off 6 weeks, but that's all my STD would cover. Now maybe employers should follow suit! They should also add an extra 12 weeks if you do have a major health issue and a pregnancy in a 12 month period.

Not exactly great news for Navy girls but good for everyone else! I'm surprised about the breast pump thing. Are you staying in the military for a full career?
@Bubbles3592 document and take photos of everything. Your landlord sounds shady.
@fbanke42 my thinking is that if the military - arguably the biggest fraternity in the US - recognizes the importance of giving mother 12 weeks minimum with their babies, policy-makers in DC ought to follow suit.
@AmadorRose Seriously! They also need better paternity leave in general... DH gets NOTHING as of right now. I can't imagine his new job in late February will give him anything since he's so new and not a full time employee--just a contract worker.
@RoseShadow873 I can't even decide if the freezie pop I want is worth getting off the couch for, so I'm tabling any major life decisions at the moment. I'm also kind of hoping that the order they put out will allow additions, so if a branch decides 18 weeks is best then they can use their discretion but every branch is guaranteed 12 weeks. Probably not, but that'd be good implementation for the branches giving 18 weeks.

I know what you mean. I have to make a major life decision within the next couple months and it's so stressful. I wish there was someone that knew everything to just make it for me. I'm usually indecisive and can't even make a small decision without obsessing over it. I think getting out of the military was the only thing I was ever really sure about. I decided within three months of joining, haha.
I got a text at 1:30am that my friend who is a week ahead of me with twin girls is at the hospital because her water broke. She's not quite 32 weeks. The babies are fine, but labor hasn't actually started so they want to keep her pregnant a few more weeks, guess she's stuck there. She's so sad she can't be with her 2 year old
@imrachellea This might be a totally dumb question but I have wondered about this. How do they keep the babies in for a couple more weeks after the water has broken? I've heard people say this a couple times but I just don't get how that's even possible??

Dude, too much work. Just spend the $2 at the grocery store for a jar of Smuckers Hot Fudge. Trust.
9 years. I've been teaching 9 years with a couch in my room...at 3 different schools. Never once has anyone had an issue with it. I teach kids with moderate to severe physical and mental disabilities, and they need it. 9 years. Yesterday, a newly hired inspection team came through the school. Couch must go. Today. By 4pm. Or maintenance will remove it and trash it (I'm not OK with that, this couch is 2 years old and in really good shape). I'm not even at work right now (glucose and rhogam day). I guess whether I feel good afterwards or not, I have to go back to work. FML

@jordanbara I honestly don't know. She's all kinds of hooked up to stuff and I know they have to monitor for infection once the water breaks. I can't imagine all that for 4 weeks
I bought a blanqi support top this week after seeing so many of y'all rave about it. I have to say...I'm not sold. I have a pretty long torso, and this thing still feels hella long. So either it covers half my butt or bunches up a little weird. It does seem like it's supporting my low back better, but it also kind of feels like I can't breathe. Will I grow to love it more?
@jonesl12 I'm stealing that picture. It took me 20 minutes to get out of bed this morning.
@AEG84 I'm 5'1" so maybe I'm just used to things not fitting correctly. The bottom is supposed to double as a belly band to hold up your pants, but I just fold it over. I can't breathe at any time, so my help there is limited. I have the blanqui and a heavy-duty maternity belt for when I run, and I definitely prefer the structure of the tank top because the belt is too much for daily wear. I also like the feeling of compression in general, but I know many people feel restricted in compression gear.

All I can think about it you still running. That sounds so painful lol
I'll have to try the folding and see it that helps!

It's not a real run...like a really chubby, short-legged dog trying to chase a squirrel he knows he won't catch. It's halfhearted, but I try.
