Re: GTKY baby names
@JessKo08 Sawyer is my guilty pleasure girl name. I don't think I would ever name my own girl that because I err on the side of traditional when it comes to names and I am not a huge fan of the boy names (or surnames) on girls, but I LOVE Sawyer. Mae was also a choice for a MN if we were having a girl, so I am biased and vote that.
I think it would be nice to name a LO after someone in your family if it's a girl, especially if you plan on more since a future DS or DD would still have an option of a family name coming from your DH, while you'd kind of be SOL if a future LO was a boy and you already names DS1/DD1 after your DH/his family. Hope those ramblings make sense lol.

Beatrix Louise
Last name starts with P and is one syllable. We like it because it's close to my grandmas birth name (she's still alive) of Beatrice and his mothers name Mary Lou without it being a direct reference. My grandma has always gone by Betty (so when she was adopted at 5 it was assumed her name was Elizabeth), so there wouldn't be any confusion.
FTR Beatrix was the first name I shared with him back in the first trimester and he hated it then. Now he seems keen on it.
@arcanejinx Beatrix is gorgeous, classic, and unique. As is Louise. Seal of approval from me.
My dad jokingly asked if we were going to pick names from a hat. We all laughed, but I'm totally ready to do it sometime this month or next. DH won't talk names except his 1 choice, so we'll let the Lord intervene. LOL - but, seriously.
Here are my First Name picks to toss into the hat:
Adeline (for a women's chorus I sang with for years.)
Rosalie (after DH's grandma)
Rose
Rosette
Roxanne (after DH's great-grandma)
Roxy
@JessKo08 Henrietta is awesome. I never hear it used and it's not a "typical" mn, although I like the family significance of Mae too. Sawyer Henrietta sounds like a strong, spunky name. And I like Archer Lawrence over Holden Lawrence. Archer is a bit of a guilty pleasure name for me.

@bethanynaom I am with you on Emma! I also love all of your names. Lovely!
@arcanejinx Beatrix Louise is perfect! My top pick for a girl is Margo Beatrix after my grandma that practically raised me (her name is Marjorie Beatrice).
Idk what we will do if we have a boy. Boy names are so difficult!
March 2016 siggy: babies - expectation vs reality
Brian's Whovian wife (5/'09)
Autism mama!
Thank you
Girls Names: Madeline, Peyton, Oliva, Alexis, Laney, Riley
This sounds like the ultimate ode to a Ravenclaw loving HP fan. I LOVE Harry Potter, but if that wasn't your intention, it's worth thinking about!

So far our front-runner is Phoenix with a nn of Nix. Other possibilities are Ryder, Everett, Leif (my husband loves but I'm not sold), Sawyer (my pick but husband not sold), or Rowan (again, my pick). So far the name we can agree on the most is Phoenix. Some days I love it; others I'm worried. It would definitely be a shock to some of our more "traditional" friends and fam haha. Gahh boys names are hard!
The possibilities are endless!! Lol

As a Leafs fan Clark is a classy nod... we joked that if we were to name our baby after a hockey player it'd need to be Gary-Roberts.
DD is Kenlyn Brooke and DS will be Kainaan Lee Wayne!
We are not traditional spelling people and I have learned that really irritates a lot of people...
