@sammy k love your kitchen! We bought a 1960s fixer upper and agreed it's not for the faint of heart! We lived with only a subfloor for 6 weeks. We have plans for a big addition in the future. I'd love to do it sooner than later but it may ruin our marriage...lol only partially kidding
My LO somehow knows we are on vacation this week and despite going to bed at the same time as always, has been "sleeping in" until 7:30 most days! (Typical day is 6:45). It's pretty cool! Thanks baby!
Twice in the past two days I have been complemented on LOs behavior. One woman went as far as saying it was a pleasure being in the same restaurant as her. That's my girl!
LO has been saying mamamama a ton, but has zero idea it could one day reference me. Tonight he woke crying as if from a bad dream, and was calling, "Mamaaaa! Mamaaaa!" as if for me. Broke my heart right in half.
MIL and DH heard it, too, and think it was meant for me. It made me cry to hear him maybe calling for me.
Not so much of a brag as a day of excitement and sheer horror altogether- today I took the apnea/heartrate leads off of LO for the very last time - he has been all cleared to be monitor free. I am so happy and absolutely terrified at the same time. I am sure I will not be sleeping for a while because I have only ever known a life with baby where the alarm gave me peace of mind at night.
Here's my braggart: everyone says how happy & good natured LO is & she totally is most of the time. DH, daycare, Gramps & I know better. She's definitely a Gemini child with a dual personality. When she's unhappy about something you certainly know it. Daycare says she's like Dr Jekyll & Mrs Hyde with no in between, pretty much true. Here's to all the LOs with strong personalities!
My LO discovered tonight he can copy me and click his tongue, he thinks it's hysterical that he can do the same thing as me! I just can't even take his cuteness!
I'm so glad this thread exists because here I go! The doctor said she is hitting all her milestones perfectly, and is ahead on some. She also said she is very alert and social. LO is going on hands and knees, and planking with her tushy way in the air. Can sit on her own for a very long time (10 minutes maybe), is independent, sleeping well, and is so happy. She is my trick baby. God, I love this kid.
So LO just turned 6 months yesterday. he can crawl, get to a sitting position and is wanting to pull up on everything! He's going to be walking next week. he was 2 weeks late so he must be catching up on lost time!
Bragging over here about how we finally fit 3 meals of purees in ! ....... Hoping we can keep the good mood about eating up because last week with teething/refusing food really got our mojo down.
@klkonwi we're at 2. How much does he eat at each meal? We're struggling to get enough formula in. I'm afraid I'll over feed him, but the little piglet loves his purees.
For a brag, though, LO has been so happy and cuddly today. He's been chattering like a little squirrel and just squealing and laughing. I've let him have lots of diaper time and he's just so stinking chubby and squishy. Gah, I love this kid. He can make me laugh so much I could explode. Love him so much.
Sometimes we do one purree a day. Sometimes life takes over.
Me too. Still doing purées at 'lunch' and that's it. Keep wanting to do his purées at the every other feedings (not the first of the day, but the one after, and the one before the last feed of the day), which would get us to two
Our pedi told us to give him as much as he'd take, so twice a day, lunch and dinner, he gets 2 oz veggies/2oz fruit. He's still getting at least 24 oz of formula, though, so I guess we're good.
He's rolling like crazy this morning. We're going to have to get a bigger area rug.
She eats 2oz of fruit with oatmeal around 10:30-11 and veggies after she wakes up from her midday nap. We've started giving her mum mums and it veggies with us when we eat dinner. When I give her purées I scale back the amount of formula by an ounce with that meal.
LO put on over 2lbs since starting solids a month ago! He struggled with gaining weight when he was first born and has always been in the <1 percentile. He is now officially on the actual growth chart. 12th percentile
Also he is loving food. So far his faves are avocados, bananas, frozen blueberries, oatmeal, eggs, and green beans. He eats better when I cut his food up in bigger chunks and he can hold and gnaw at them. Also he is an expert at picking up his puffs and yogurt melts with his fingers and almost always gets them in his mouth on the first try. If not he recruits the help of his other hand and transfers the puff over and then into his mouth. God I love this kid. I love watching him learn and grow and ughhhh this is going by so fast.
LO started sitting up on her own a few nights ago! She is also down to two naps a day, sometimes a third. She low crawls and rocks on all fours constantly. She's also getting her two bottom teeth. I'm pretty pumped about that.
LO is too lazy to use her hands. There's a hanging toy you have to "pull down" in her activity jumper to play a song. She's too short and lazy to reach, so she just figured out that if she bounces really hard and fast, the toy swings towards her and she can grab it. My girl genius!
One who slept through the whole night last night, from 7:15 pm to 6:00 am!
And as we got off a flight today, a man came up to me and said, "You have such a good baby. My kids were never this good on a flight. I kept waiting for him to cry, and would hear a noise and think, 'Oh, here it comes' but nope. It would just be him laughing hysterically."
@virginiaunicorn11 how did you get LO to finally sleep through the night?! Mine is not doing that at all! Best we've come is a few 8 hour stretches here & there but way too far & few between. Happy to hear though!

@KarasTwin our pedi said he could have 4 to 6 oz each meal. I was surprised because that seemed like a lot.

This kid fills my soul.
