@virginiaunicorn11 how did you get LO to finally sleep through the night?! Mine is not doing that at all! Best we've come is a few 8 hour stretches here & there but way too far & few between. Happy to hear though!
He has only done it twice and much more often, sleeps til 3:00 then has a few wake ups between 3:00 and 6:30 or 7:30 when he's up for the day. But that's a huge improvement for him.
The honest truth is I think he improved due to: 80% because he was ready, 15% because I finally accepted there will be some tears, and 5% because I am willing to read/respond to his cues and ignore what the books say.
For a few weeks, I stopped feeding him when he woke. Then I started letting him cry up to 10 minutes both at bedtime and also if he woke before 1:00 (which was six hours of sleep).
I do a mix of cosleeping, cry it out, and nursing to sleep. It's just what works for us.
I'm sorry, I wish I had a better answer for you. All I know is it's not a solution anyone told me - we just had to get there on our own and that took a seemingly LONG time. And we definitely aren't even "there" yet.
I hope things improve on the sleep front for you. It can be such torture, and it somehow feels like there's a magic right answer out there. I don't think there is.
LO slept 10:30-7. I'm considering that sleeping through the night. She's pretty inconsistent with her sleep but I'm calling that a win! She's also clapping her hands now, so cute. Pulling herself up & crawling at a speedy pace. This weekend is her first swim class. She loves splashing and kicking in the tub so hopefully will like this too.
ETA: two more nights sleeping 8-8 only waking at 4 & able to talk herself back to sleep after nursing both nights. Also she totally rocked her swim class which I'm especially proud of bc I was a competitive swimmer as were my sisters, dad, & aunt. It's in the genes!
