Have you guys heard of the "Sexiest Doctor Alive"? I just came across this. The guy is handsome, indeed, although he is training at a hospital I've never heard of - he seems to be more focused on the 'sexiest' than on the 'doctor' part of his title.
Definitely not the sexiest doctor I've seen - that being said, I don't think I could go see a sexy doctor. I'd be all "nothing weird going on here - I'm awesome"
@thaisac1 he's attractive, but the day I go see someone about BV or YI and he has his nurse take a photo of him doing the exam will be the day I stop believing in modern medicine. This guy would be the end of my belief in medicine...and he seems like a douche.

He's obviously investing a lot more in his career as a celebrity than in his career as a doctor... If you go to his Facebook page, he is listed as "public figure"... Beware of doctors with personal websites!!!
@thaisac1 I'm just trying to imagine the reaction of some of our patients if my PA took a selfie whilst performing a pelvic exam My PA is a very good looking dude, but I would not stop the patient from kicking him in the face.
I had to have a dr mcdreamy do a vaginal exam on me when I went to the ER for heavy bleeding at 8weeks. It was awkward and he looked like he was 18 years old.
@jonesl12 I had the PA I worked with at the time tell me that I have a very nice uterus as she was doing the bimanual exam. She also asked if my VCH hurt and remarked on how pretty it looked....and I would still prefer that over a very young looking dude.
My mom is trying to make plans to come visit after the baby is born. Talking to her about it and imagining her here is very stressful. I feel like I am doing this for her in some ways, but she really acts like she is doing me a big favor. She mentioned not being able to reschedule one of her work obligations unless it was a "big deal" and I kinda wanted to be like, "well, meeting your grandchild IS a big deal." I would rather my MIL help me, but I don't want to hurt any feelings.
One of the doctors at my practice is a good looking Greek doctor. He's definitely older than most, if not all of us, but he's definitely a guy that is aging fantastically. I just saw him this past week for my appt. First time I met him was the first time I went into the OB when I was pregnant with DD1. I had some bleeding, freaked out, and they told me to come in to get the rhogam shot "just in case" (looking back it was likely implantation bleeding, never happened again). So I went in, hadn't even had my intake appt yet, fully expecting just to get a shot. Dr Good Looking comes in, introduces himself, says he has a fellow shadowing him for the day, can he sit in on the appt. Sure, go ahead, its just a shot, right? Um...wrong. Full on pelvic exam...with the good looking doctor I had just met, never having had an OB/Gyn appt with a male doctor before, and a male med student who looked barely older than my middle school students looking ALL up in my lady bits. Talk about jumping head first into the OB world...
Also, I just finished making the dichotomous identification key for the Jelly Belly jelly beans for my students' classification lab this week. I think I'm going to be sick, I had to eat each of the beans as I identified them to make sure they were correct for my kids...too.many.jelly.beans...
Anybody wanna share the creams/lotions they are using on their stretching selves ? (Yes,I know this stuff won't prevent stretchmarks but they do help with the itching and dry skin that comes along with all the stretching .)
Here's my rating so far on what I've used because I'm bored: #(1 choice) Bio oil - it smells like dial soap and I kinda like that - Doesn't stay slimey and absorbs well - Kinda pricey tho - Makes skin crazy soft
#2 trader joes coconut oil -I used this on myself as a moisturizer long before I got pregnant esp in the summer - makes skin crazy soft - It's easy to use too much - Won't stain clothes - My dog licks my legs if I have shorts on after application so I guess that's weird and dogs like the taste of it ? - Inexpensive but inconvenient as I have to scoop it out with a spoon. - Keeps nips soft too .. Tmi ?
#3 palmers stretchmark lotion -it's thick and rubs in nicely - doesn't smell that great - The stretchmarks I've gotten on my boobs have already faded a bit since Ive been using this in that area a few times a day for a few weeks.
#4 honest company belly balm -super greasy -smells like black licorice in a bad way -small jar goes a long way though -I only use this before bed if I know I'm showering in the AM because it's so stinky.
After my stretch mark freak out a few ago, I bought Sympathy for the Skin from Lush. I'm an avid Lush user and one of their face lotions cured my chronically flaky face. I started using Sympathy about 3 weeks ago and all my itching and tightness is gone. Bonus, those lines I thought were stretch marks are completely gone meaning they probably weren't stretch marks, but hey.

Lush mask of magnaminty is my jams however I've never tried anybody their lotions. There's not one around here so I have to order online

I've been using the Mustela stretch mark cream for about 10 weeks. I use it once or twice a day. No stretch marks yet, which may or may not be helped by the cream, but most importantly my super itchy skin has stopped itching altogether (unless I go a few days without the cream). And a plus is that my belly skin has never been softer.
I've been using the body oil that Victoria's Secret put on super sale around Christmas time. Everything feels so soft and I've noticed a considerably less itching since I started it.
@jonesl12 I've been using Burt's Bees Mama Bee belly butter, and up until a few days ago it worked great. I seem to have hit another growth spurt and I'm itching like crazy, so I'm in the market for something else. I HATE palmer's cocoa butter, so that's out. Maybe I'll treat myself to my first Lush product because I've heard a lot of good things.
I've also noticed that my few stretch marks are not in areas that have really stretched, which I find strange. I've decided to just stop looking at the tiger stripes and focus on feeling good...starting with a new lotion.
@jonesl12 - this time around, I've been using Earth Mama Angel Baby natural stretch oil. The smell was a bit strong for me at first but I really, really like it. I used BioOil in the past with DS and I liked it too. I'm definitely not preventing any stretch marks (I'm well marked up from the last) but I'm having no itchy or discomfort.
@k&elizabeth Sympathy for the Skin is my jam! Ohmygosh - favorite skincare product ever. It has so much banana-y goodness. I couldn't believe I spent that much on one thing of lotion, but I'm on my 3rd now with no regrets. I don't use it on my stomach though, but maybe I should. Try it @AmadorRose!
@jonesl12 I use Palmers anti itch skin oil, a little bit goes a loooong way as I'm only about a half inch into the bottle. Also Vaseline Skin Oil, it smells incredible and feels great. That's another one that stretches a long way. I have a coconut lime body butter from Ulta, too ... But I'm not sure of the brand. So far no stretch marks (knock on wood).
Has anyone used the compression leggings to help with leg cramps at night? My leg cramps keep waking me up in the middle of the night and freaking out DH because I jump out of bed.

I can't sleep if I wear socks at night, but I've found that wearing them during the day helps my restless, crampy legs SO much.
I started using coconut oil this week (big ole jug from Costco!). Before that I was usin vanicream, which is super thick. My skin is suuuper sensitive to anything with any sort of scent so I'm pretty limited on what I can use that won't make me break out in little bitty hives.
Honestly, I think massage itself is what makes a difference more than what you use. Blood flow is a good thing

Don't know how to help you, but at least she is somewhat trying?

I can't sleep with socks, so I'm wondering if the leggings would work out. The cramps are right below and behind my knee.
@jonesl12 I switch between using Palmer's cocoa butter lotion, straight cocoa butter, and straight unrefined coconut oil. The easiest to use is obviously the lotion, but if I'm having an especially itchy day I go for the plain cocoa butter or a combination of that and coconut oil. I definitely smell like chocolate much of the time, but DH really seems to like it. I already use coconut oil as my regular daily facial moisturizer, so it's not a big deal to scoop out a little extra for belly and boobs.
I've been using Mother's Blend, which I got at Whole Foods. It's a blend of almond oil, coconut oil, shea butter and vitamin E. It smells pretty mild and I love it after warm showers. A little goes a long way also and though it seems oily on, I swear I don't know how it doesn't transfer onto clothes. I rub the excess on my cuticles, it's lovely.
I might have to try Sympathy for the Skin though! I always love perusing Lush but it's so overwhelming, I never seem to find anything that jumps out at me.
I'm going crazy over sleeping positions. Another night again where I fell asleep on my back and stayed asleep for most of the night. When I sleep on my left side, I toss and turn like crazy. I know I'm supposed to sleep on my left side and avoid my back, but I can't seem to help it. I have a body pillow and everything to increase comfort and can't think of any other way to help. Does anyone have any suggestions?
@AmadorRose Lush products are incredible. Everything I've tried from there works exactly like they say it will. Some are pricey but I've found that a little really does go along way. This jar of lotion was $30. I've been using it daily for almost 3 weeks and have maybe made a 1/5 dent in it.
I'm kinda shocked by the number of 3 day weekend comments/posts. Around here the only places that shut down for MLK day are the banks, USPS and the schools.

I'm definitely at work. My work is never closed though... Looks like a lot of people decided to use vacation time, though.
@mrstrax I think it's a regional thing - before I moved south, everyone stayed open except for major holidays like Christmas and thanksgiving. Today, I second-guessed whether Hobby Lobby would be open because of MLKJ day. I'm still adjusting and I'm a terrible southerner...but I'm totally loving this 4-day weekend. I'm trying to work ahead in my classes so I can focus on my math homework.
DH is almost done with his damn model, which means I no longer need to be DS's only parent! I don't know how a separated mom can do this... Pregnant, already taking care of a toddler, and working 40 hours a week? Nope. I'm beyond exhausted this pregnancy, so doing this all of the time would probably kill me. Hats off to any moms out there who are doing this alone!
@mrstrax ditto. When I hear people complain about working today I'm like.. everyone is working, aren't they? It's a snow makeup day so schools were open today for most local districts.

Same here. Everybody works unless you happen to be in a small business with a boss who is particularly passionate about the date.
Baby passes away from whooping cough. Poor parents. They weren't anti-vaxxers, but the decisions of others impacted them in the most horrible way possible.
