I don't really have a list of names to share yet, but feel free to tell me what girl names you think sound good with Norah (DD1). I just don't really like top 10 names, but other than that, I'm open to ideas.
I'm currently struggling with boy names. DH is adamant that if baby is a girl she will be Amelia Anne.
Debating between Easton Boone (previously agreed upon name from first pregnancy) Easton Everett Everett Boone Everett Marshall (Marshall was my dad's middle name)
Ok. My older 3 have some unique names. My oldest especially... hers is an African boy's name apparently. And nobody else in America has it according to Social Security. So I don't want anything on the top 100. But I do like the following boys names (haven't run them past DH) and need suggestions:
I love the unique names, I had one requirement that we stay away from top 15 for the past 5 years. DH actually picked the first name I and got middle. Atm, we're going with Ronan Laurence. Laurence is my gramps first name, my dad's middle and my mom's name is Laurie so the fem version. I tried to kill as many birds with one stone as I could ha. I do know when people find out we're naming him Ronan I'm going to get some side eyes, but don't really care.

DD's name is Blakeley Dawn.
I like Easton a lot, and Amelia was on my list if we had a girl too.

My best friends son is named Ronan. He's one. So it seems it might just be coming around.
The other thing I didn't realize that was important was how names are pronounced and if they're spelled a different way the name completely changes. I liked the spelling Ronin, but made it Japanese and not Irish, then looked up how to pronounce Ronan and was pleased to find it pronounced Ro*nun. Just something to think about.
We are decided on a first name- Livia. Ancient Roman married to the emperor and great grandmother to the guy who burned Rome. not made up and also Tony Soprano's mother on the show.
I am stuck on middle names. It's either: -Liv!a Rose -Liv!a Margaret
I hands down think Liv!a Rose is a better name. I dont care that Rose is popular- we both watched Golden Girls with our grandmothers. If it wasn't the most popular name right now, baby would be Sofia Rose.
Margaret was my grandmother- not my favorite name but my favorite person who would have loved this baby to pieces. Margaret isnt a bad name but wouldnt be my choice with all things being equal.
Thoughts? PS added the !!! To avoid having her full name floating around/being searchable.
@TattoosandLace - I love Easton and Everett. My DH doesn't like Everett and when I brought it up he started naming other cities in Washington, he sucks.
Our girl name is Finley and we are considering Finn for a boy but DH thinks it needs to be Finnegan and just call him Finn. I disagree. And we don't even completely agree on that name.
For a boy DH likes Easton Alan. I am not completely sold on it yet, but it's growing on me. I also like Lincoln Alan.
For a girl first name will be Margaret (family name) we are thinking Ann as a middle and Mack as a nickname (last name starts with a K). I would like a different A middle name but I can't think of anything that sounds good.
If you could somehow write it out, how would you guys pronounce Sóley?
I'm Icelandic and my husband and I are both pretty set on an Icelandic name. Think we know the boy name (team green though), but was curious how people here would pronounce our top girl name.
Just a request - please look at your kids initials before you decide on names and make sure they don't spell anything. My initials spelled a sound and while it was cute the first time someone pointed it out the millionth time was irritating. I embraced it (and it became a nickname) but I know others with terrible initials (A.S.S., F.A.G., K.N.T.).

I would guess like Soleil. Like as in "cirque de..." But that's just me.

Ok. This has me laughing. Washington has some pretty funny cities. Puyallup. Sequim. Issaquah. Skookumchuck. Not great baby names....
Question- my gma died last July and we had a letter placed in her casket with what our daughters name would be (my gma's name being the middle). My bro and SIL had a daughter in October and gave her my gma's name as a middle name. Would it be weird if my kid and my bros kid has the same middle name? Is there a way this would be offensive to bro and SIL?

SO - lay ? More emphasis on the first part because of accent mark?

Word. My husbands cousin is KKK. How they didn't notice that, is beyond me. And maybe after they noticed it, they figured she would eventually get married and the last initial would change? But she never got married....so she is a 40-something year old, with the initials KKK.
@austinjl I don't think that would be weird at all.. Or offensive. My father passed away and if/when I have a boy my father's name will definitely be his middle name. My sister wants to do the same for her future son. I like connection to family in names, and especially because my dad was so important to us. I told her I definitely think she should use the same middle name -- they will be cousins! They will share a grandfather in my case, and a great grandmother in your case .. If she was important to you and you want to use that middle name do it!! I think it would be weird if your brother and his wife were offended!

Hey you know what though....if they name their kid Spokane and they correctly pronounce it, they are okay in my book! Say it with me now......SPOH-CAN!

No. First off, your bro and SIL don't own the name, nor do they have rights to your grandma's name. I just wouldn't bring it up, and if it does come up, I would tell them that you have always wanted to name a little girl after grandma and that wasn't going to change even if someone else used the name.
In my family, we have a lot of people named after the same people. Several of my male cousins have the middle name (or first name) of John or Edward. Family members can be loved by more than one person.

Haha. Do people actually mess that one up? Are your from WA? I'm from Puyallup. Nobody says that one right! And there's even a song! Ok... it's for the fair. But it's still a song. Speaking of songs... See the video for Macklemore's Downtown? All filmed in Spokane.
@Natinat6 I have never before seen the name Livia, and it may be the first name I've ever seen and instantly fallen head over heels in love with!! We already have a different girls' name chosen, and it's a family name that we adore, but if it wasn't, I might have to switch.
@MotherOfDucks I am in Clark County, WA (waves at you from down south!). And yes....they miss pronounce it all of the time on tv shows, the news, etc. They call it Spo-cain. Just like a lot of people (from outside) call the Willamette River "the Willa-met" (its actually Will-am-ette).
My brother lived in Puyallup for a handful of years. Even though we know how to pronounce it, we always joke around and call it Polly-oop.
@TattoosandLace I love Everett Marshall! I also love your DD's name!
I'm having trouble with a name for this baby. DS is Mason Coulter DD is Morgan Mae I didn't plan on the 'M' theme and also didn't plan on a third. I hate all the other girl m names. I LOVE Harper but DH doesn't like it. We have Emery on our list but it's DHs favorite band. We are both picky and don't want names of people we know. It makes things more difficult. Is Harper popular right now?!
I've always been a huge Alice in Wonderland fan so even before kids it was kind of a given that Alice is on the table, but lately I've really been liking Ophelia and Rowan for girls. It would probably be Alice Carol (Carol for moms mom) and I might use Petra as a middle for Ophelia and Rowan, (uncle Peter who passed that I was very close to). Thoughts? I brought up Ophelia and hubs instantly popped out "oh I'll feel ya" -_- I don't want to name my kid something that will haunt them and the speed in which he came up with that is scary...he must have been the bully in school...
For boys I like Milo and Theo but neither mom or hubs like them but I can't seem to think of other boys names

@MotherOfDucks I think Evander is a great name. I think today I might just really like the letter E
For a boy we are torn between
Duncan Arthur
Duncan Harold
Duncan is for my grandpa, the middle names are my husband's grandfathers
