I feel like my twins have no interest in sitting up or standing. All they want to do is tummy time and to try and crawl. Which is great, but how can I encourage sitting more when they pretty much hate it? Do they just "get it" at aome point?
i thought i saw someone mention new years resolutions somewhere (not referring to the thread by the admins) but now i cant find it. anyone know what im talking about or did i imagine it?
I need to lower our mattress but I am dreading it too (major back issues). I found LO had pulled herself up onto her knees holding on to the crib rail with her head up over the side looking out. She's so curious about everything & always on the move too so I'm sure im in for some trouble here.
My little babies (less than 14 lbs each) have outgrown the swing. Mostly because I think they could wiggle right out of it. We packed it up before Christmas.
If she's really tired she'll tolerate it for about 15 min (she's still obsessed with the mobile and mirror on it, I call it her friends). Going to pack it away for the next one.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
She still loves the swing (although we didn't get it until she was 4 months old, so maybe the novelty hasn't worn off). I just make sure I am in the room when we use it, because she could wiggle out of it if she wanted to.
^^ I have the 4 moms pack n play and that's the only way I can get dressed/showered in the morning. We put a bunch of toys in it and he stays occupied.
Ugh random and nothing at all to do with babies but any watching Making A Murderer on Netflix? Just finished episode 3 and so mad I have to go to bed and didn't start watching this over the weekend!!! Just want to keep watching!!!!
Is everyone in America watching this show? Lol. My husband came home tonight and said we needed to watch it. It's all over my FB feed and was on the nightly news.

They just did a teaser on the morning news I'm watching right now... "After the break - Making a Murderer. How the hit show is causing (someone, I dunno, I wasn't paying much attention) to receive death threats"
im really glad winter break is over because im no longer confined to my room till like noon. which was very boring for my LO. at least now i have an area on the floor he can play around in.
On my local news (I live in Wisconsin) today (or yesterday?) they briefly talked about they reviewed their footage from back then and there are things that the show is leaving out. Maybe the series will bring them up later, or maybe my local news is biased towards the 'official' version of events. I dunno. But it was implied that had these other things been in the film, it might not seem so much like justice is skewed. I wish they would have gone into more detail about it, but it was just one of those 30 second blurbs.
P.s. - I feel like I must add a disclaimer to say that I do not watch fox news, so I didn't hear this there
@mellymar I've heard that too, but you should start it. The evidence they have is crazy and I totally believe it was planted by police. I told my DH that in a weird way I wanted him to be guilty of the murder just bc I feel so horrible they locked this innocent man up twice. He just doesn't act guilty at all and I don't believe he's some sociopath.
i love my niece, but i really wish my sister would reign her in more. she just kind of has free range of the whole house, so she'll walk up to my door basically as soon as she wakes up (because everyone else is asleep) when im not even fully awake yet, knock then walk in wanting to see my LO. she will come in and just talk to herself as if shes on the phone and play with LOs toys. (a lot of which her brother has the very same) like i love her but i just find her to be so spoiled and have such an attitude.
eta: I didn't feel like making a new family rant/rave thread
@JessHeppell your sister and her kid bug me out. I know you're staying with family so you kinda have to step lightly, but you're entitled to at least some privacy, damnit. Could you put a lock on the door?

nope. I wish though. and I also have to keep my door shut or her 1 year old will walk in and start taking things.
on a good note though, my LO is 6 months finally!!
@JessHeppell Could you put a baby gate up in your doorway? You could say that your room isn't baby-proofed for a one year old. If you're lucky it might keep the older one out, too.
Thanks to @ElRuby for putting spoilers on the star wars thread heading. Otherwise I would have clicked it, and can you believe I haven't seen it yet? I'm honestly not sure if we will be able to
We only got to go because I called an aunt that lives 45 min away and she happened to be free during a time the movie was showing. I still don't know how the planets aligned!
When you shovel 1-6 inches of snow in your driveway (depending on which side of the driveway has the drifts) so you can take your kid to a 1030 library reading circle.

And then the kid falls asleep half an hour before its time to leave. *facepalm*
Oh no! That sucks we were going to a library class also that was at 10:15 on Mondays. We went twice and then she started napping through that time.. So back to sitting at home all day
He woke up in time to eat and race to get out the door. We were probably going to be 5 minutes late, but the librarian said it didn't matter. But then, womp womp, the plow had been by. All of the snow in the road, pushed to my side of the road.
