I'm very envious of all you ladies with an ikea around you... Closest one to me is in Gainesville, and I really have to make that hour drive worth the trip...
I go to the one in Atlanta. It's about a 45 minute drive from my house but it's so big it takes a few hours to go through the whole place so it's worth it. Plus, my sister and girlfriends are going with me so we'll make a day of it.
We are doing a grey and white nursery with clouds, moons and stars for our little girl. We had to completely remodel a spare bedroom on the house and so far, it's been painted. We have twoclosets in the room, one will have an organizer installed and the other will be a "play nook" with shelves and a cube organizer for toys. I'm a big crafter and wanted a few personal touches, so I handmade cloud and moon pillows, a cloud mobile with hanging crystals and some glittery wall art with my cricut
Ohhh... yeah I liked how tall it was - and you're right... it's amazing in the white finish. I'm 5'6" and love where it hits me. Thankfully they have floor models you can try before you buy!

I've been wanting to go to ikea Atlanta forever. I may have to make it happen in the next few weekends with all this talk
We ordered our furniture from Oeuf through our local baby boutique. We got the Rhea Crib, the Merlin 6-drawer dresser and the mini library, all in walnut. Items arrived yesterday and we started to put it together today.
We were extremely impressed with the quality of the furniture. Everything is made of solid wood and so sturdy. The dresser is so heavy it takes 3 men to move it! Super solid. We are in love with how everything looks and the walnut finish matches our dark floors perfectly.
There were a couple of mess ups, however. When we were putting the legs of the crib on the crib, one of the lock screws unlocked and came out of the socket, preventing us from continuing. My husband called a 1-800 line for Oeuf and the lady didn't even hesitate, just asked us to send them a pic and they would ship us a new piece to substitute it. No questions asked. Then, as we were putting the dresser together, we realized they sent us the base for the 3-drawer dresser when we have the 6-drawer dresser. It was after hours so we just emailed them, and to my surprise within 15 minutes there was a response already, saying they are handling it with the Canadian distributor and will be sending us a new base shortly.
So while it is frustrating that these couple of things happened, I have to say I am quite impressed with their customer service. Prompt and courteous service, no questions asked. Also very impressed with the quality of the furniture.
I can't wait to finish the nursery though! Wa wa waaaaaa
@thaisac1 I had to google your furniture and *swoooon* so cute!
With my stroller switcheroos, I ended up saving around 200, which went towards a nice rug and decor for the nursery (and some A+A blankets). I'm finally happy with my choice! I'm waiting for crib bedding to arrive and we will hopefully start nursey clean out/painting in a couple of weeks. Yahooooo!
@thaisac1 I did not even consider that. I liked that it could be converted to a junior bed when the child gets older and how stylish it is. Perhaps I should take another look at it

Thanks! We love it too, can't wait to see it all come together!
Looks like you Made a good decision! These thing$ add up like crazy and it's always an amazing feeling when we can make our hard-earned pennies stretch!!!

The only reason I brought it up is because I was liking some cribs that had thicker slats, as they looked very modern, but once I saw in person I noted the slats decreased the visibility inside the crib. That's when I started paying attention to it. It may not be a big deal for you of course, everyone is different!
Here is before and after. The nursery was storage for our kitchen renovation. The other pic is after we added the blinds and new light. Theme is gray, teal, lavender penguins. We have to add a bed skirt, curtains, closet curtains, our chair I ordered, a penguin mobile and more decor.
I haven't posted on here in a while but my husband surprised me the weekend before Christmas by taking me to pick out the nursery furniture. We knew right away when we seen it that it was the set! The dresser has the changing table built in on top. It looks like vintage wood, color is actually called Cashew. Now to figure out the rest.
Lilpenguin3 we're doing the same color scheme (minus the penguins) so I almost bought thast same rug (target?) but ended up getting the same one in the Aqua color. I love the lavender accent wall. We've got almost a gallon of extra paint, I may consider that.
@elasticheart13 There are some cheaper cribs that can convert. Mine is $400 and the conversion tools are about $200, so altogether that's still cheaper than the $1000. Try looking at some different brands. You'll find one you like.

Agreed, most department/box store brands seem to convert now. Our DiVinci from Target converts to a toddler with rail for the base price ($275?) and then the kit to make it a regular bed was somewhere around $75. We didn't get the conversion kit though.
I got mine from Target as well. The Storkcraft Venetian and it comes with the toddler rail. It converts to a full size bed with standard bed rails so no conversion kit needed! I got it on Cyber Monday for $140.
Oh here is the canvas I got for the baby room as well as the rug to match though I may take it back and get the lavender instead. They both matched perfectly but SO preferred the aqua.
STMs - what do ya'll think of this crib? I really like the simple design but is it reasonable, safe, etc? I don't want to get too excited before I get some advice, because this crib is far cheaper than I planned on paying.
@AmadorRose I like it too! I actually looked at that one. I gave away DS crib right before I found out about this pregnancy (go figure). This time around I bought a very basic white Graco crib on sale for 99$.
Point being, cribs have to meet certain safety standards as far as slat spacing, etc. I wouldn't be concerned about anything from a major retailer as far as safety is concerned. I think it's perfectly reasonable to be frugal with a crib. Did you read reviews online?

The only bad reviews were from people who expected the crib to come with mattress and conversion kit, and the info clearly states that it doesn't. DH and I plan to leave it as a crib, as we'll hopefully have a new baby to fill it once this LO is ready to transition to a big girl bed. I'm not sure whether I should get the conversion kit and store it until we can use it as a big bed with the last LO we'll have - hoping it's not full of teeth marks or otherwise ruined - or not bother. I think for $130 I won't do a whole lot better, but this will be my first big purchase and I'm nervous to pull the trigger!
@AmadorRose I feel the same way about cribs - and I don't convert mine anyway. When we switch kiddo to a new bed, we will go ahead for a bigger choice like a twin (or a huge bunk bed in DS case.. ILs bought several years ago. It's fancy.) I don't think additional conversion kits are worth the dough. My last crib came with one. I don't think this one did. I asked for this as my Christmas gift this year because making a big purchase made me nervous. Now that I've gotten the ball rolling with stroller and car seat, I'm feeling a bit more comfortable buying stuff.
The crib we got at IKEA came with a conversion kit, but I have no idea if we'll ever use it. We plan on getting DS1 a toddler bed after we move. Depending on when we decide on having a 3rd, we may never get to switch the bed over. We may just skip to a bunch bed when the time comes to pick between conversion or toddler bed.

We almost got that one, but I felt the curves were a little too feminine for our tastes. I do plan on using it converted into every size bed ever though.
@Knottie9983816 I'm not a fan of the high-backed cribs and this is the only one I found that was still visually appealing. Plus, I'm adamant on no pink, so a bit feminine is ok by me! DH just nods his head and agrees. It's the best part of being pregnant
AmadorRose We were thinking of that one too but then we went to the store and saw it in person and it seemed flimsy. I would check it out irl if possible.
Rejuvenating this thread because I finally have something real to add! I finally cleaned out her room and started the decorations, which right now is only gold contact paper stuck up as an accent wall. Now I feel like I can get moving on the rest of my decorations and get DH to start hanging things up!
