WTF my jackass DH. I'm having some serious sciatic pain and have busted my ass the entire two weeks I've been off work for holiday break. I have organized the house, done a huge clean out of both of our stuff, reorganized our whole basement, cooked and cleaned up after guests but none of that is good enough for him. According to him I haven't done jack shit and he is walking around the house slamming shit and huffing and puffing like a child. I love being guilt tripped my entire vacation.

I know it's an incredibly hard decision to make while pregnant, and while I know I have the benefit of not being in the same situation as the people who are rehoming (or offing) their dogs, it makes me super defensive as well. I've had a few friends rehome dogs after the baby came for 'not getting along', but somehow, miraculously, whenever I was around their dogs and babies I could get the dog to chillax and not bite, pee on, growl at the baby. It really boils down to being the boss of your dog, and I know I've made that point ad nauseum on here, but I will continue to say it; If your dog doesn't have a 'boss/alpha/leader' they are going to be unhappy and have undesirable behavior. I have three very different dogs with very different backgrounds (abuse, neglect, abandonment, and kennel stress included), and a parade of dog guests who tramp in and out of our house constantly. My dogs don't have issues with each other, and they don't have issues with other dogs, because I don't let them. Period.
@Lindsayleigh1989 and @Nerdchild thank you for saying what I've been thinking for the last week. I've been ferociously avoiding these threads about animals because all I want to do is scream at these women.

Agreed, I don't think people realize how important it is to socialize their dogs anymore or know that in the house totem pole the dog is at the bottom.
Okay, not to keep the dog train going too long, but my comic relief for the next two weeks is going to be my poor pitbull and her cone of shame. She has so much trouble navigating with that damn thing on, and she just kind of normally fails at life without the additional handicap. I wish I could post videos on here to show you guys some of her hardest fails (like getting caught on the Christmas tree and pulling it down with her).
Ugh on the topic of bad dogs I have a lab/pit mix who is generally unsafe around children, and I have a magic solution called baby gates and supervision. Crazy I know, but I have high hopes no one will die and it'll all work out. Also anyone ever heard of an outside dog? We are having July babies...
WTF to the allergies and headaches that I've had all Christmas break. Also a WTF to not being able to sleep in. I was so freaking tired before break and now that it's here I don't sleep past 7am....WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I'd rather hear about that then, " we've had our dog but now have kids and we don't think they get a long, we should instantly re-home or put them down." Makes me soooo very stabby.
