How often are you going to doctor now?? Mine wanted to see me three weeks after the last appointment, so that was this week but I was going to be out of town for my baby shower. So the appointment was schedule for next week, 4 weeks after. Now they called to cancel it and cannot get me in next week at all, so I have to wait until the following week, which will be 5 weeks since my last appointment. Is this a big deal at this stage?? (FTM with anxiety about things going wrong.)

Not at all. It's the same old appt, they're just checking the same things out. If anything happens between now and your appt, just call them.

Apparently a stay at home, low key day was what my boys needed yesterday. They are sleeping in. Almost an hour now. And dh is finishing up all the dishes before work. I almost don't know what to do with myself!

SO hard to leave my sleeping husband and son on this dreary, rainy day to go to work...but somehow, I did it. I'd like to thank coffee.
Here today and tomorrow, then off again for the new year. I'm so tired. Clearly the holidays took it out of me this year! I'm actually sort of looking forward to some down time this weekend, and then getting back into a routine next week.
Thanks for everyone's thoughts yesterday My leg is still uber sore, but as long as it goes away that is fine. Today on the to do list is grocery shopping we have literally no food, but lots of holiday leftovers so we can survive. Also it snowed last night, I'm so happy even if it will be gone by tonight.

30 minutes left til my final draw of my 3-hour glucose test. I'm sooooo thirsty. And other lady in the corner happily crocheting is making me feel like a doofus for not bringing yarn with me.
Holy cow.....I just realized that the first class of our 5 week birthing classes start this Sunday.....and now panic mode is starting to set in.....lol.
@jmathi0149 Good luck! Mine is Thursday morning. Man, who thought it was fair to do these tests around the holidays? Uncool, man.
Good luck on yours! I'm super pissed because-humble brag- I've only gained 11 pounds. Granted, I was definitely overweight before pregnancy so I had plenty to spare. I've tried so hard to keep things under control this pregnancy. Plus, I have so much heartburn I can barely eat anything, let alone a bunch of sweets. Definitely unfair to do it around the holidays though.

I wish our hospital had a sunday class. Ours is Tuesday night and I have to work late every Tuesday so I have to do the weekend session. Ugh it is 10 hours long and sounds horrible ha ha.

My back hurts and DH had to go to donate plasma today, so I'm actually just laying in bed eating Christmas candy because I don't want to get up to find real food. Sooo I'm totally an adult, and I'm just enjoying my time alone in my bed with my blankets and Netflix.
Anyone else just sorta excited to lay around staring at their baby? Cause I am.
Getting a little worried here to. We have about everything now for the twins but their car seats and of course diapers and wipes. But, everything, and I mean everything, is in a storage unit in Texas and we are in Illinois. Dh and his dad were supposed to drive back there and pick it all up earlier this month, but now it is going to be January. Gives us no time to set things up.
DH spoke with both cousins yesterday. The one that lives 3 hours away is going to bring the mattress to us in a couple weeks, when she comes down to spend time with her dad for Christmas (? don't ask). The other who has the bag of clothes for us should be getting ahold of DH sometime today to bring the bag over. Apparently it was too heavy for her to lift it, so she has been driving around the last 2 weeks with it in the trunk of her car (her DH is deployed)- so now I'm thinking OMG WTAF did that woman send me!!??. My mother is taking me shopping Thursday for a dresser- they have good (although cheap) ones at Kmart on sale for $35! Then I can just get a changing pad later to put on top.
My mother is definitely reliable. The other two- I will believe it when I see it. If all 3 come through I will have a lot less to worry about (although by then I can definitely find other things to give me anxiety lol).

WAAAAAAHHH!! I have my one hour test today. I had to delay it because the antibiotics I was on would mess with the results. It's only an hour and I shouldn't be whining when so many have the 3 hour test coming up but I have to stop drinking water for 2 hours before. I LIVE on water. Just knowing I'm not allowed any right now is making me thirsty.

Huh? I only had to stop water right after the drink and only for an hour.

Woo hoo! We have the best superintendent ever! He just called to let us all go home an hour early today! Kinda sucks- today is already my early day because of my doctor appointment, but that's ok! Its nice to know he is willing to do nice things for us around the holidays. We are already getting out an hour early Thursday. Now today- maybe he will be very generous and call it an early day tomorrow too? Lol I can only hope!

I thought it was a long time too but her written instructions say no food or drinks (including water) 2 hours prior to drinking glucola.

Yeah I wasn't given any restrictions for the 1 hour test either.
ETA: perhaps I should have given myself some leading up to it though and maybe I would have passed
We LOVE our sound machine. It's from Brookstone and we plan to get the same one for #2 (the model now looks completely different, but the quality is supposedly still just as high):
@bntfroggie our class was a Friday evening and all day Saturday class like 12hrs total. It did get long at times, but was nowhere near as boring as I thought it would be. We also got out a couple hours early Saturday. You'll survive, I have faith.

I'm joining the 3 hour glucose team. Woo hoo....not. At least it's while I'm still on break so I don't have to take a day off work. Also, my birth classes start Tuesday of next week.
A friend of ours is giving us one of the Arms Reach sleigh bed cosleepers. It's so beautiful! We were actually surprised on Christmas Eve with an original Arm's Reach as well (second hand) so I think we might sell that and use the money for a bouncy seat or something.
Here's a picture of the sleigh bed cosleeper, set up as a bassinet.
We got hit with about 8 inches of snow last night. My husky mix dog loves it and my cats are just pissed. I stumbled across this picture and it made me chuckle, sums up life on my farm right meow.

Glucola did taste like flat orange soda! relief... On the downside, I now feel super jittery and like I need to throw up... 20 more minutes. Wonder if they'd get upset if I nap on the couch. Lol
They should really standardize the requirements for the gtt. How are you supposed to get reliable results with such varying instructions? My first pregnancy, I had to fast and they gave me 5 mins to drink it. This time, fasting wasn't necessary and I had 2 mins to drink it. You'd think the fasting would make a difference.
I didn't have to fast, I had to drink it with in 5 minutes, and I had to write down the time I finished the drink. The office had sent home the glucola with me the previous office visit, so I didn't have to wait an hour at the doctors office for results. My OB also was able to tell me the results on the spot as they have their own in house machine that runs the test.
I feel like the rest is very unreliable. How can so many women fail it I don't get it. Also, the 3 hour one is tourtueous and I refuse to do it. I am should have refused the 1 hour I hate the unnecessary testing.

Walking on the treadmill..... Yay exercise right? This baby feels so heavy on my front. And I officially have lost my toes! So there's something I guess! Still anxiously awaiting for the doctor to call and tell me if I failed or not, maybe no news is good news, but maybe I'll hear tomorrow.
For my gtt I got the drink in advance and drank it before I left work. I didn't have to fast before drinking it but wasn't allowed to drink or eat anything in the following hour. My friend just told me that here in Ireland the test is selective and not routine!

Also I too have started to get a little panicky/antsy about baby #2 coming. I have almost NOTHING for this child since our first was girl.
