Good luck at the allergist @jmathi0149! The jabs shouldn't actually hurt, it's a little different than getting a regular shot. It's that he will probably get itchy from what he's actually allergic to. The good news is you'll have definitive answers about what to avoid once it's all finished.
It is still snowing. Glad we stayed home! Cinnamon rolls were fabulous and ds2 slept in until 9 and is about to go down for a nap at 12. Not bad.
I am just a little jealous of your winter weather! Coming from the South I don't think I could live somewhere it snows but some winter weather would be nice since it has been 70 this week.
Ugh, I'm so freaking annoyed right now. My 8 year old son's school just called. He has a fever. Turns out the little girl he sits next to at school had a sore throat all last week, was diagnosed with strep over the weekend and has been allowed to sit in class sick this whole time. Seriously? Irresponsible parents piss me off. If any of my kids are sick (which actually isn't often) I keep them home so they don't spread any germs. I'm just so aggravated. I now have to get him to the doctor and make sure none of my other kids get sick. Geeze.

@kynbar5 I'm the strep queen so I probably got it just by reading this....but for real I hope your kiddo is strep free because it suckssss
Ms. Pregnant ladies are mean is throwing a hissy on the nice thread currently.
She is just dramatic. If you go back and read her posts everything offered good advice and no one was rude or mean.
I'm so sorry @kynbar5, people who let their sick kids come to school REALLY piss me off. It's one thing to not know your kid is sick...but strep, that's an obvious one. Poor little guy. Hope the meds kick it quick and keep it from the rest of you.
Oh no @kynbar5 that sucks sorry to hear that hope the rest of you remain strep-less!!
@skruhmin that sounds like a freaking awesome day! The snow can come in abundance after my plane has left for Christmas but no snow storms in Boston before then please!! I won't be going back to school until September so I'll take all of the snow days!!
Going to try make chicken pot pie tonight for the first time ever - any and all tips appreciated!! (I have the recipe, but if you know something *special* let me know )
Dh is on my nerve today. After making the comment about moving the couch, I got ready to get groceries. He knew I needed to get stuff for baking Christmas goodies. He invited his little sister over (she is 8) and told her I would make goodies with her. Then, when I get ready to leave to get the needed ingredients, he wants me to take ds with me. I tell him fine, but if I'm taking him to get groceries and your here alone, there are dishes that need done so I can bake with your sister (which you volenteered me for) I get home, dishes are still in the sink, he is playing with his car stereo and stays in his car while I bring in ds and the groceries. Then as I am putting it away, he complains of being hungry and how much I spent on food (only food items so it's not like I blew our money). Then I make lunch, say I'd lIke a nap before his sister comes over and instead he says, "well I need to get the stereo back together before I forget how to do it. Why are you looking at me like that? It's not like I'll be out there all day, I have to pick my sister up. " duh, you big brute. He is normally really good at thinking about what I need, but about once a week he pulls dumb move. And about once a month he pulls a 'I'm a man and will pretend like I don't know why you are mad'. Swear, if ds ever acts like this, I'll duct tape him to a chair and give him a lesson he won't soon forget.
@red3ye oh mannnnn do I feel you. DH recently built a gun. Somehow more extra parts keep showing up on our doorstep and all he does is fiddle with the damn thing. Your husband should be grateful he can't be shot with a stereo when he says something dumb. It's like when they get into their project they can't think outside of that little box. Men
Thanks I just needed to wine. I learned not to wine to my family a long while ago as they take it to heart and get angry at him and I have grown apart from my friends so I don't really have anyone irl to vent to. And of course, I can't really vent to him about it unless I wanna start a fight over not getting a nap.
I feel you @red3ye, mine did that with the dishes this weekend. He hung out with his best friend (alone at our house, no kids) while I hung out with my best friend (at her home, all of our kids). I came home to all of their dirty dishes in the sink, and he let me do them and cook all day, and then do them again after I cooked, and had the nerve to expect me to put our son to bed. The look I gave him must have made his skin boil because I've never seen him drop what he was doing and just DO IT so fast in my life.
@SarahFoley725 don't even get me started on the gun building! My husband had one built for him last year (fortunately he lacks the time and patience to do it himself, or it's all he'd ever do) and it cost...well, a lot. Anyway, the damn thing has jammed three shots in since he got it. I hate that money pit!
@skruhmin so jealous of your snow day! I want my snow! Lol I may be the only person in cny not happy about El Niño.
@red3ye dh can be similar at times. I will have a whole list of things I need to do and give him one thing and the next thing I know he has picked some random thing that doesn't need to be done and not on the list to tinker with all that day. Lol enough to drive a woman crazy.
On a side note I think bedrest may be around the corner for me and I am so sad about it today. I felt jittery and off all day and I knew it was my blood pressure. I came home and it was 135/90 not bad, but not a good sign given my history. I am having all the signs from last time too. Weird jittery feeling, tingling in lips and hands, finger swelling. Just ugh! I am hoping I am wrong, but having serious Deja vu today.
Well the negative was i failed my glucose test so now i have to do my 3 hour. My positives: I got my tdap shot, my Makena shot, doctor checked the position and little man is head down, and while doing my culture he announced my cervix is still closed tight and thick. So go me!
February Siggy Challenge- Post pregnancy indulgences
Man o man that girl that started the pregnant women are mean thread is the worst! I swear, some people WANT to be miserable and live out every woe is me moment over and over.
@charley15 too bad about the glucose but so happy little one has decided to cooperate. Fingers crossed they don't get any ideas about flipping back around.
Sorry about the glucose test @charley15 fx you pass the three hour! @stormiewinter sorry you are experiencing that again, fx you don't need to be put on bed rest! Hugs!!
@Stormiewinter (or anyone that has had blood pressure problems). Just figure you may be able to answer this, if not, no big deal. My blood pressure has been high and moderate the last few months but that jittery feeling is SO annoying to me. So my question is (while I know every woman's pregnancies differ) is the jitteriness linked to the blood pressure for you? I ask because I get that super jittery feeling but I also get to where I feel this lightheaded/nauseous/out of breath feeling. It's weird and hard to explain. It's kind of like a panic attack but different - I've had plenty so I know exactly what they feel like but this is different somehow. Does that sound familiar to you at all? I ask because my nurse keeps understanding it as stress or panic attacks but it just feels different to me. Sorry that was so long lol.

I get this a lot. For me it gets triggered when I get in a large crowd of people. It's a very weird experience. When I got pregnant it started happening more often and my OB suggested that I eat smaller meals more often throughout the day. That actually helped a TON.
@kynbar5 that is exactly how I feel! It is hard to explain, I feel jittery, sort of light headed, a little nauseous, shaky, but not? Almost like you feel at the beginning of a flu before you realize you are sick? Anytime I get that feeling and take my blood pressure it is elevated. When my blood pressure goes down it goes away. So I assume it is blood pressure related. When it gets really high I also get bad headaches. As soon as I felt like that today at work I knew it would be elevated when I got home. This was how I felt with Ds and we estimate the blood pressure had started to creep up around now. So far I am just keeping an eye on it (it is still within acceptable ranges), but with Ds By 32 weeks my Bp was 165/115 so the creeping makes me really nervous.
Say a little prayer for us tonight, ladies. The OB found elevated levels of a protein that shows up when labor starts, indicating for sure preterm labor. So they're putting me on bedrest for the rest of the week (I'm on Christmas break after that thankfully). I'm an absolute wreck.
@MrsPittman13 thanks I'll try that and @Stormiewinter yes it's definitely weird but I'll start checking my bp when I feel that way and see. I hope for both of us that it doesn't get worse! @smushi Thoughts and prayers your and baby's way!
