Oh yeah, I definitely grow the most in 3rd tri. I get to the point where I think, "No way can I get any bigger" . . . and then I do! There's this lovely thing called stretch marks that allows your skin to rip open and make more room. :-(
Speaking of that - I just noticed I'm getting more - on top of my other ones.  How is this possible?!?
I keep hoping my belly is stretched out enough and I won't have to get any more stretch marks. But that's likely wishful thinking. Haha.

Although I will say that I still have extra skin at the bottom of my belly from previous stretchings so maybe that will get stretched out soon?  Because saggy belly is, ummmm, attractive and all.

  • Alright so one of two appointments went swimmingly today. And it was the optometrist. I got red glasses. They're really cute.

I guess all that worrying I did was not pointless after all maybe, my doctor seems to think I have 3 options in total and I have to make a decision after 32 weeks when we do an ultrasound and all the cards are on the table. My hips are too narrow to deliver this little guy, and she doesn't think they're going to widen enough between now and then. So we can wait for me to go into labor, and risk dislocated shoulders or him going into distress if he gets stuck. We can induce at 37 or 38 weeks and deliver him vaginally if he's small enough and his lungs look okay. Or we can schedule a c-section for 38 or 39 weeks and do it that way.

Not the news I wanted, but at least he's healthy. At this point we'll do whatever's best for the baby. Ugh, why must they be so unpredictable?!?!

@jmathi0149 Fingers crossed you are at the end of your bad luck spell and your glucose test is an easy pass.

@ecwk I feel the same way these days about not having any room. I know I still look relatively small but my skin feels sooo tight. I'v been growing on a daily basis this week. I thought it was all in my head until I noticed that my belly button is a little bit more open every morning. I have an extreme innie and I can now see the end of the tunnel for the first time in my life.

@2goofykids I'm so sorry to hear that you have those decisions to make. What are you leaning towards doing? Inducing early would scare the crap out of me.

Oh and doughnuts, cookies, cupcakes OH MY!!! I want them all too. But then I always feel so guilty after I eat them. I keep thinking this child is only going to want to eat sugar.
  • @JLaVO888 as much as it terrifies me I'm leaning toward a c-section. I would be kinda bummed to miss out on being able to deliver my baby but when it comes down to it I think I'd rather have him out knowing he's really ready to be out than inducing early and risking his lungs being under developed.

Hoping for a Christmas miracle, might be clinging to the last tiny threads of hope that he'll slow down and my hips will open enough d:

Either way I have like 2 less weeks to go than I thought I guess! So yay maybe?
  • I think I'd go with the c-section too, under those circumstances. Being induced early could backfire and end up with failure to progress and a c-section anyway, and then you'd have the lung issue to contend with. Sorry you're having to make these choices.
  • @2goofykids I think that is what I would end up doing as well. It's the option that sounds safest for baby! Having a healthy baby totally trumps having the natural birth experience. I will pray for a Christmas miracle for you! Maybe your body will know what it needs to do and spread those hips!
  • @2goofykids I'm sorry! Let us know what you decide to do!
  • I'm not enjoying this tonight. I can't bend over, can't get myself out of bed, and can't even keep myself awake long enough to care. I ache and hurt!

@2goofykids if you plan on having more kids, unfortunately you will likely run into this problem again. I say likely because I don't know your body as to wether it's possible your hips will widen with age. If you do a csection this time, you will more than likely face another one with the next (if you decide to have another). I am sorry you have to make this choice. You're putting the baby first in your decision and should be proud either way.

@charley15 I have been having trouble too with body aches. Hips, back, legs... when combined with my increase in size, it is impossible for me to do certain things. I have let dh know that he either has to start helping me shave my legs soon or I'm going to become a hairy monster.

And my bellybutton popped like a month ago, (with ds is never really did) and I noticed yesterday while trying to pick up toys off the floor before bed that without my bra, my boobs just look like utters. Just wait till hdbd, I have 2 pics to show, one at 3.5 weeks when I found out I'm pregnant, and one from Saturday. Can't believe I haven't gotten stretch marks yet but dh and I both agree, it will take a miracle to avoid them this time.
  • Well, got all the kids in bed so I'm going to fix myself a snack (note: a full sized meal is probably more accurate lol), watch Home Alone and try to figure out where I can get some of their gorgeous wallpaper! ;)

    Thanks @kitteh81!!
You look great in those pics, it does give a good view of how much bigger one can get. I guess I can't imagine my belly being any bigger but I guess I'll see it for real before long!!

ETA I feel like my belly now looks like yours in the pink top!

  • I honestly don't *feel* very big anymore. I look at myself and swear I'm smaller. Maybe baby is hanging out towards my back or something because a few weeks ago I was feeling monstrous.

I feel like my bump changes daily. Some days I think I'm huge and other days I feel smaller too!
  • That sounds so yummy, @red3ye! I could go for some hot chocolate right now

  • Do any of you take a magnesium supplement? I had a horrible eye twitch for about a week straight and now I'v been getting horrible muscle cramps in my legs at night. My calves get supper tight. I know both of these are signs of being low on magnesium... But that would have been caught in my last blood screening correct? Maybe it's just all the other lovely pregnancy hormones messing with my body.

    Morning :)

I don't know what it was last night- it almost felt like baby was wedged up by my ribs, to the point I couldn't bend.  I was doing this weird sprawl across the couch last night while I waited for my mother to come by.  I needed help getting out of my chair, into bed, out of bed to use the bathroom... I even think I felt a few weak contractions in there too.  My tummy was rock hard and tight!  This morning I can move much easier.

And today is shot-in-my-butt day!  And also another not-so-fun part of my appointment; The doctor I saw on my first visit apparently never sent my cultures to the lab, and is now retired so we have NO idea where they went.  So guess what I get to have done today?  Yay... I hope I hear about my glucose test today.  And my abscess is almost completely gone-its very small compared to what it was last week and its no longer red or painful.  I hope that is the LAST of them until I deliver!

  • I'm about 0% with it today. I woke up with bad heartburn and had to pee. Coming back from the bathroom my lower parts started to hurt. Front back hips and everything. I had a dull ache that kept me up most of the night. Guess my hips are getting ready idk. It felt like baby had decided to burrow herself down real low and pushed outward in all directions.

Haha! I think I'm nicer too! I'm just annoyed that someone who got a lot of support when she was upset is now complaining about how the same women are mean.

I just read that thread and boy was it dumb.
  • People are mean but it usually isn't the pregnant ones. Although I will say had the fish thread not been so whiny I totally could have related to her. My last pregnancy I was 35 weeks and went BSC because dh brought me home a cinnamon raisin bagel instead of a cinnamon crunch bagel. Everything had gone wrong that week and I cried and threw it in the trash and acted like a lunatic. We had a good laugh about it the next day. Sometimes those hormones just get you.

I'm on the way to take DS to his allergist appointment. I am geared up for tear city between both of us. I know I am going I be a hot mess trying to hold him down while they poke him in the back and he screams. Hopefully we will finally get some real answers and advice though. Here's to keeping a one year old in one room for 3 hours!!
  • @flowerpower5838 it's a bummer when threads get shut down quickly. I wanted to tell her I'm nicer now than I normally am and I couldn't.

  • @SarahFoley725 I guess you got an early present for him/her. Hope they are happy for their gifts ;) I understand though, kinda. We got our deposit back on our apartment yesterday and I planned on using it to finish my Christmas shopping and get stuff for making Christmas goody trays, but my bank decided that since it was an out of state check they are putting a 7 day hold on it. Agrivating, I have banked there for like 5 years.

I don't, I usually just eat a banana a day, which keeps the leg cramps away. That said, I've read that we don't actually absorb much magnesium through supplements (more than half of what we take leaves the body as waste). We absorb it better through the skin. There are sprays and lotions that contain it, and you can get them on amazon...benefit there is that you can just apply to your calves each night. Good luck, charlie horses are the worst.

@charley15 I hope your appointment goes well, glad your abscess is doing better!

@skruhmin SOOOOO cute! I can't wait for our first snow. We're actually in unseasonably warm weather right now and I hate it. Christmas should be cold and snowy, and it's 60 degrees today.

  • A few days ago, I moved the couch away from the window and ended up cramping. Dh went "well you should have asked me to do it". Today the couch was slid back again so I asked dh to move it for me. He comes in to do it, then rolls his eyes and goes "really, that's it? Why didn't you just do it?". Grrr.
