  • @virginiaunicorn11 I will email your baby this memo..... Seems like not a lot of the babies are getting it but ya know.....
  • When you wake up because the monitor makes a noise but your LO isn't up yet. And then you realize you're not going back to sleep because your stomach has decided to disagree with something and the next hour will be spent in and out of the loo.

Look at the bright side, Mel. Your kid could be awake and screaming while you deal with stomach cramps and the results that follow.

  • Well my LO is close to sleeping through the night. I'm not though because he's in our bed and is now turning himself horizontal, feet towards me of course. I love being kicked in the boobs all night.

We've been letting him cry for naps in his crib. Saturday he cried for 35 minutes for his morning nap, yesterday, he only cried a minute. Next weekend we're moving him to the crib at night.

Full confession, I was very close to feeding LO sitting on the toilet last week because I couldn't make it through without having to get up every other minute. I never wished DH was home more!

Exactly. I was torn between being glad he was gone so as not to be aware of me having difficulties (I'm still a little weird about that), and wishing he was home so I could say 'baby care is on you. I'm going to go live in the bathroom for an hour and half'

  • What is this hell that happens at 6.5months? One of my girls who is always so happy and easy-going has been off/on CRAB PANTS. My twins have been sleeping through the night for a while but last night, one was up from 330-5 just screamingggg. Finally we used someone on here's idea (forgot who, but consider this your shoutout because I adore you right now) of using the fan above stove. Calmed her back to sleep almost instantly. Started on Friday, and sometimes she just screams and I can't figure her out. I want my happy baby back!
  • Ah! @beckyk9109 that was @virginiaunicorn11 , I believe, who used the fan above the stove

  • DD has decided that 4:30am feedings are just standard now.  Like every night.  She always goes to bed with zero issue at about 7pm.  She hardly ever nets more than a total of 2 hours of naps a day.  And she always gets up and is starving at 4:30am.  She then will go back to sleep until 6:30-7.

Saturday night I tried to feed her extra before bed - she generally falls asleep after only taking one side, but i put her on the other one too, thinking "maybe i'm not giving her enough to fill up before bed, so she wakes up at 4:30."  nope.  That night she decided to wake up at 3:30 instead of 4:30.  And then she had a dance party in her crib for almost an hour post-feed.  No crying, just babbling to herself and thrashing around.  What is this???  The four month regression is supposed to be over.

I know that "technically" i'm not supposed to expect her to be able to go without a feed for a 11-12 hour period until she hits 6 months, but the fact that she used to do that regularly and now won't anymore is a bit confusing.  She has until the 7 month mark to figure this out, and then we are sleep training out her MOTN feed.  She weighs almost 20lbs now.  She can live without food overnight!

My mood today is not helped by the fact that i was up until almost 2am on and off - SIL went into labor at only 36+6 and went to the hospital around 7pm, so i was worried.  Also, she was team green, so i wanted to know what was going on!  So once the baby (boy (her second), healthy, 6lbs 12oz) was born, there was a flurry of texts and DH left the sound on his cell oh full blast, so even if i wanted to sleep that wasn't happening.  And then after the excitement died down, DH kept snoring.  Sigh.

  • Not sure if tonight is going to suck or not. LO got 6 month shots yesterday late afternoon. Slept more & ate less today with more spitting up than usual. She's been awake the last two hours when she's normally sleeping. She's not fussy just hanging out. Hmmm... I just got a two hour "nap" in while DH was with her. Strange child.
  • @virginiaunicorn11 I remembered because I thought it was genius and to this day, if LO is freaking out I consider the oven fan.

  • Only one night wakening at 3:30 and she fell right back asleep. Unfortunately I woke at 2:30 & couldn't fall back asleep til after 4:30. Man I'm a terrible sleeper!
  • For the past few nights, LO has been waking up in the middle of the night ready to party. Must take after his father... whoever said they sleep like a baby has clearly never had a baby. All I want for Christmas is a good night's sleep.

  • Went to bed early (845pm) and for once managed to fall asleep within 30 minutes. To wake up at 11pm with stomach cramps. Just now going to try to go back to bed now, at 2am. You're a cruel bitch, nighttime. You suck.

6 months now, LO still not STTN. Ever since he got sick with the cold a few weeks ago, we spoiled him and put him to sleep on our bed. Now he refuses the crib. We have tried putting him back there but he literally wakes up every single time we put him down. I'm so tired I give in after a few tries. Momma needs sleep.

ETA: From a momma who said she would NEVER co-sleep in the same bed.

  • @beemaya83 is your little one up feeding in the MOTN? I can't seem to kick MOTN feelings with baby in our bed. We tried ST in the crib last night, epic fail.

  • @beckyk9109 I'm in the same boat as you!  According to the Wonder Weeks, we should be in a sunny time now.  LO has been a crabby pants, screams at naptime, and wakes up partying in the middle of the night.  He'll be 7 months on 12/21, and just today is starting to get back to normal.  I've heard of a 6 month sleep regression, so maybe this is it for us? Or teething...his bottom two are in, but I've heard the top two cause extreme crabbiness.  Babies are weird!

  • Why is the 6 month sleep regression worse than the 4 month? Why?
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
  • @dancegurl1118 I don't know. We never had the 4 month, but 5.5 months + sleeping in crib= multiple wake-ups through the night where we've only had 1 or less since 11 weeks.
  • @KarasTwin we're losing it over here. She was up from 350a on. She dropped her early morning nap 2 weeks ago and now she's just dropped sleeping in the AM entirely.

  • @mshaal yes, baby is still feeding in the middle of the night. He used to wake up at 12:00am and 4:00am, but lately as I mentioned his sleep has been so weird and now wakes at the most random times.

I've tried crib last night too, at 10:00pm I caved and he was in our bed by then.

  • @dancegurl1118 apparently he naps all day. He constantly acts like he's starving. He gets solids twice a day and is still eating at least 30 ounces of formula. I'm this close to sleeping in the nursery floor so I don't have to keep getting up.

Was there actually supposed to be a break between them?? LO missed that memo. Starting to feel like his four month leap might actually last 4 months  :(

I start in my bed, but if the babies wake up too much, I sleep in the la-z-boy in the nursery. Every night, usually starting around 3 am.
  • Does anyone else have a baby that won't snuggle or sleep in bed with them? I've tried...oh how I've tried...but she will only sleep in her crib. If she's fussing there's no helping her. I thought my bed was supposed to be a last resort but she won't. She won't even sleep on me. She will never snuggle when awake either she's too busy...is my baby the only one who hates love and cuddles?

  • Mine isn't really cuddly either ^^
  • ^ mine hates cuddles. I was actually talking to a coworker about that today. She said it's a girl thing. I try to sneak them in after her final feeding when she's nice and drowsy. Otherwise, she's too busy to cuddle. My wiggle worm.
  • ^^ DD has never ever slept in our bed, she only wants her crib. However if I'm nursing her in the glider she will fall asleep on me occassionally. She's not very cuddly and gers bored easily so we're constantly switching up her activities.
  • That's really interesting about it being a girl thing. Ok that makes me feel better.

  • LO'S doctor said if he's still eating at night at 9 months, it's because he's "been trained to do so and will need some training to help him stop." But for now, she says it's ok that he's waking pretty frequently to eat.
So much for that six month marker?!

That's pretty depressing, but kind of aligns with stories I've read on TB... seems like plenty of ladies start to see change around 7-9 months. (I've been scouring for success stories)

Oh really?! I am actually glad to hear this. Because people just looooove to tell me about how their six year old still doesn't sleep and how I will probably never sleep again. We are still in the 4+ wake ups camp (though he only eats once or twice, usually). Bah!
