@MegJerKlemz Your sonographer sounds like an ass. In all seriousness, call and complain, or when you have your second one done, find a comment card and complain that way. There is no excuse for that sort of behavior. She's a professional and needs to act like it, not like a spoiled teenager who isn't getting their way. Ugh.
As for the cord around the neck, it's pretty much a non issue. I've touched a cord with blood flowing through it, and they're damn hard to compress enough to restrict blood flow, which is the only concern. The baby can't strangle itself with the cord, because it's not breathing yet. As for being born with cord around the neck, the main concern is that it won't be long enough to allow the baby to be born fully, but they're usually loose enough to be easily slipped over the head before the shoulders are born. Three of my five have been born with cord entanglement. Two were fairly simple- one had it looped around her neck, one was born with it looped loosely around his chest. My fourth had a cord wrapped twice around the neck, around her shoulder, around her waist, and between her legs. That thing was crazy. She was born so fast that I was literally the only adult present, and I just unwrapped her and put her to breast, nbd.
I think I have actually been peeing less at night too even though I am still drinking a lot. I don't know why that is.
Does anyone know what is up with sharp, intense pains in the lower abdomen that come and go? I was lying in bed and felt these where the little dude usually is kicking me. I was rather worried.
Guys I'm 22 weeks and just had the craziest feeling ... It's hard to describe it but it's a painless, fine "vibration" in my low pelvic area, below the hairline even. It feels like the vibrate function of a phone, if it was right under your skin. What is this? Have you felt it? Is it normal? I just got to my husband's hometown and I don't have my doppler with me, it's driving me crazy! I do feel the baby kick still.

I honestly don't know what it is but I do recall many of the women in my Danish pregnancy group mentioning this symptom, so I don't think it's anything scary.

I've been googling it and tons of women describe the same thing. No one knows why. So weird!!! I was afraid something was tearing in there, I've never felt anything like it!!!!
Any moms here had a similar feeling? It's like my uterus drank a fizzy carbonated drink!
I've never experienced it myself, but I've heard dozens of women describe it in other due date clubs. I've never heard anyone say they figured out what it is though! My toddler would tell you it's just the baby's phone. Because of course they have toys in there. Our baby has cars and monkeys that are pretend and a puppy, according to him. Hahahaha!

Yeah, most midwives here explain it as a sort of hiccups or Braxton Hicks lol

They come intermittently and in short bursts, just as if your phone was vibrating under your skin. I'm still having it! So weird. It's definitely not hiccups.
So the Charlie's horse thing or whatever it's called... I've been getting it in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping, and the tightness continues through the entire next day? Anyone else dealing with this? I've been staying hydrated, and making sure to drink a whole bottle of water before bed, which is part of what makes this so weird to me. I thought you could avoid it by staying up on your water intake?
Weird symptom here...while sitting on a couch after eating thanksgiving dinner I took a deep breath in and felt a weird electric shock feeling just under my ribs on the right side. It wasn't painful, just startling. It has happened a few times since, always after eating dinner and while sitting on the couch taking a deep breath. When I googled it all I could find was possibly baby is hitting a nerve. Anyone else experience this?? I completely forgot to ask at my doctors appointment.
I've had a lingering cough since I got sick almost a month ago.. I can't take many antibiotics because I'm allergic so it just stays. But now every time I cough, I pee. perfect. I've been nicknamed "pissy pants." Which coincidently I'm often cranky so it doubles! But seriously!?! This is my second baby, I don't recall this much fun my first time around! Ha!
I think I have actually been peeing less at night too even though I am still drinking a lot. I don't know why that is.

Is it normal to feel baby move really low by my pelvis on the left side and then above my belly button and the right side not too long after? I'm only 20 weeks. It's been 5 years since I've been pregnant and this baby is way more active than my other 2 ever were this early.
Normal! @jasmuin. Remember that when the app says the baby is only 6.5 inches long at 20 weeks, it's crown-to-rump length, so the legs aren't included in that. If you add those legs in, the babies are more than capable of reaching that far!

Yes, you feel different body parts in different parts of your belly.
Is anybody else's lower abdomen sore to touch & hard if you press down on it? Being a FTM and having all these changes freak me out.
Mine hasn't been too sore, but I was getting sharp pains a few weeks ago. I think that was the stretching? Definitely hard though. When I lie down, my upper stomach sinks in like it normally does, but my lower abdomen puffs out like a little hard balloon.
I'm at 22 weeks and have been feeling great honestly... until last night and today. Oh my gosh the hip pain!!! Hit me so hard and lying down on my side makes it feel even worse, even with a pillow between my legs. I'm so tired but can't get comfortable at all. Anybody have anything they do to help ease the pain? I did some prenatal yoga today, hoping that'll help.
I started feeling the vibrating phone sensation around 16 weeks! It's so weird. I thought maybe it was the "fluttering" but started feeling the real kicks a few weeks later. I told my doc I felt like there was a phone vibrating under my skin by my ribs and she said she'd never heard that before!
Embarrassing symptom warning: My gas is out of control! What's worse is I can't keep the toots in sometimes when I walk. Sorry to all my coworkers who I have crop dusted this past week!
Eta: props to my husband for being a champ, I don't even try to hold them in around him anymore!
okay this is really gross, but does anyone else have a LOT of itching down there? I don't have any other weird symptoms (discharge, smell), but it's just been so itchy for awhile... ugh!

I did a month or so ago, but I was also itching all over my entire body. Allergy meds took care of it for me, but that's something I'd definitely get checked out because that's miserable.
Yes it was awful last week..week 22.. I finally started taking probiotics and did by the vagisil wipes but also realized I need to use sensitive laundry soap on undies...its gone now...oh and more h2o
So called my doctor today, explained I've been drinking about a gallon of water a day, and my pee is still brown, and doesn't lighten for a few days now. Their response was to drink more water. Um... I'm pretty sure I'm cutting it close to drowning myself as it is with a gallon a day... Any advice on here about it? (Other than second opinion, because I have Medicaid and don't have the option of calling a different doctor...)
@Knottie9983816 Your pee is actually brown? Not dark yellow? A gallon of water daily should be quite sufficient... Have you recently started any new vitamins or anything? Even just a different brand? Since actual brown urine could be a sign of liver disease, this is a time it's worth pressing the issue with your doctor.

Very dark yellow, I guess. I haven't changed anything up. Might just stop by tomorrow and see if I can speak to a nurse in person.
Perfect. I'm 23 weeks, and 30 lbs in. I gained 11 lbs in one month, all mostly water weight. I'm starving constantly though! But apparently just consuming way too much! my feet are tightened up, I drink as much water as I can and am still starving but nauseous. I gained 90 lbs with my first pregnancy. I'm scared to death I'll gain that much again!
I'm 22 weeks and have gained 15 pounds. I thought I was doing good but my doc said that I should only gain 11 pounds the entire pregnancy! She said they have gotten more strict about weight since I was pregnant with my daughter 8 years ago. Yikes!

I get them every morning now. I don't think anyone really understands why we get them and it probably doesn't have to do with hydration because I still get them when I am well hydrated too. There's some weird information out there about bars of soap in your bed stopping them, but who knows....

I got them with my first 3 babies, but haven't had any with this one. I'm not drinking anywhere near as much water as I did with the others, so I agree that I don't think it has anything to do with hydration. Sports cramps, yes, it's a hydration issue. But pregnancy cramps, probably hormonal.

Following up @mojomama6 's comment, if it's dark yellow then it's concentrated, somehow you may still need more water... Or...Are you taking a different multivitamin? Some vitamins of the B complex will notoriously make urine darker yellow. If you want to see whether this is the case, stop your vitamins for a few days and monitor the urine color.
Liver disease will make the urine the color of Pepsi, not darker yellow, but by the time that happens a person will also be jaundiced and will likely also have clay-colored stools.
@kalanieileen I've never taken it myself but have experience with it due to my profession. Yes it should help your heartburn. I've never had a patient had a side effect to it. It's a very benign drug in that regard.

Just as a follow up, I quit taking my prenatal all together, and the issue cleared itself up. I'm not really sure why it wasn't affecting me before the six month mark, but I eat a fairly well balanced diet (usually two different veg per meal, as well as a fruit once a day) so I'm not as worried about getting extra vitamins at this time. Also, dark yellow urine out of nowhere is not fun to me, and I'd rather not risk a random reaction to another kind.
Side note, did you know vitamins are not regulated well enough to actually ensure they have the ingredients the label says they do? Not really worth the hype imho...

Yup. There was a big scandal earlier this year about how 80% of the vitamins and supplements sold in pharmacies/ supermarkets actually do not contain what they claim to contain.
People who eat normal diets to not need vitamins and supplements. Period. I tell this to my patients all the time, but people are really obsessed with their supplements! Many refuse to take real medicines in lieu of supplements (which are not studied and not regulated).
Women trying to conceive and pregnant need more folate, iron and calcium so it is reasonable to supplement these during these specific times.

OB recommended it and said it should really cut the heartburn attacks in half.
