  • My SIL went into preterm labor last night. She is only 32 weeks. Her DD was a week over due and had to be induced but apparently this little guy wants to get out now. Luckily they were able to stop it with medication and are sending her home now. Hopefully the little bugger stays put for at least a few more weeks.

  • I went for a walk yesterday and apparently the excessive laying around and sleeping I have been doing lately made my body not like the walk. My hips were killing me and I had sciatic pain by time we were done. I feel old. Need to lay on couch less and move more (I say while laying on couch after getting out of bed)
  • I had plans to do all the things today (rake the leaves! laundry! grocery store!). However, DH is at the grocery store for us now, and all I seem to be able to manage is shuffling between the couch to the bed to lay down.

    Help me.
  • Woke up to rain today. We live in CA so this is rare. Really love hearing it on the roof!!
  • Ugh headache today but DH is finally putting lights on the house!!
  • @fishwife799: Good they were able to stop SIL's labor. Hope baby stays put a while longer!
  • Back ache!!! It's really bad today but only when I'm standing. RLP seems to be suddenly on the attack. I just hit 12 weeks yesterday. Anyone else find that RLP suddenly increased? I had at least a week of minimal aches and pains since my last back ache woe.
  • @SMLmom ugh. Mine has been pretty bad lately and seemed to go from zero to one hundred over night. We drove home from Southern California yesterday and the bumpy freeway was killing me.
  • @fishwife799 glad they were able to stop labor! Every day counts at that point.

I feel so unhealthy. We have ate pretty much nothing but junk food and carbs the last 5 days since we've been out doing christmas stuff. My body is screaming at me to eat a salad. I know what I'm having for dinner.

  • Today is DSs birthday party. I don't like other people's kids, especially two of the neighbor kids who'll be here....I know their parents don't raise them well, which isn't their fault, but oh, the attitudes and bossiness! Gahhh.
  • @fishwife799 so glad they were able to stop the labor. FX all goes well for the next two months for her.

So I had my friend in town and was trying so hard to act human since she flew all the way to NYC from San Diego. Fail. Managed to show her only a few things before passing out multiple times each day. Grumbled at my DH and cried at the lobster roll I bought then couldn't eat. Sigh. Thankfully she's awesome and super easy going so she managed to have a great time and enjoyed lounging with me anyways. It felt so good to have a gal pal around while I was feeling crummy, selfish as that is.
  • I'm going through testing for celiac disease right now and am 99% sure I already know the results. I have all the symptoms and more than half of my family has it. Blahhhhhhh I love bread and pizza and bread and carbs
  • Yesterday I went to target and saw these adorable little girl jeans. I was going to put them in my cart, then I snapped out of it because I don't even know what sex my baby is! Maybe it's intuition that I'm having a girl, maybe it's just craziness :)

  • @fishwife799 scary stuff. Glad they were able to keep baby in there for a little longer and that all are ok.
@SMLmom yep RLP is killing me right now. I'm scared of sneezing ! And my sciatica is out of control.

Spent the day watching now Hallmark Christmas movies. Sucked in every time.

  • @HighFive16 how far along are you? It's mostly just my right side... hoping it's just RLP... I freak out when symptoms change.
  • @fishwife799 I'm glad they were able to stop it and will keep her in my T&P's that baby stays in there for a while!

@SMLmom I hit 12 weeks yesterday too and today I was walking around the neighborhood passing out wrapping paper with a local foundation and was having terrible RLP!

My random: I love mexican food!! I had tacos Friday for lunch, tacos today for lunch, and fajitas for dinner...thank you mom for lunch and DH for dinner lol
  • @MrsB8214
I also love Mexican food :)... I hope you don't mind me asking but what does your RLP feel like? I've never felt certain I can really identify it. I'm getting a stretchy ache on my right pelvis... not usually when resting (but can even feel it when I pee).
  • RLP sucks! For me, I told DH it feels like someone put a tens machine on my vagina (lower abdomen/pubic area really).

@SMLmom in 12 weeks since Wednesday. It is mainly on my right too. I'm the same with th symptoms. It's so funny because I look a symptom up as "is this normal at X weeks""?" And I remember looking up the same things last year. For some reason I have forgotten everything !

  • The caffeine thread keeps reminding me of how much I miss coffee! Still can't stomach the smell not to mind keep it down. :(

  • That sucks @HighFive16 :( I just got back to being able to drink coffee and it's saving my butt.

Maybe I'm horrible, but sometimes during my last pregnancy I would take 100 mg caffeine pills (not more than 2 a day, obvs) when I couldn't stomach coffee but was too exhausted to finish.

@SMLMom RLP for me feels like a sharp stabbing pain or a dull ache, depending what I'm doing. With my first it was so bad so early that my doctor feared an ectopic pregnancy and sent me for an ultrasound at 6 weeks to check I was ok, but everything was fine, I was just hurting! I remember that was mostly on my right side as well which is why he was worried (before I knew I was pregnant, I thought I had appendicitis). This time it's more on both sides I guess. I feel it when I pee too.
  • @SMLmom I actually read in a few places that RLP on the right side specifically is pretty common when I was consulting Dr. Google earlier after having some pain after lifting up my nephew. Very strange.
  • Three things for me today...

Over the summer my hubs and I went to Turkey with a bunch of people from church. Tonight we went out to the local Turkish restaurant for dinner. And as delicious as the food was my tummy is now very angry with me.

And spending time with them made me realize how much I need a decent group of friends and have no social life right now.

And a friend of mine called off her wedding a few weeks ago (the wedding was supposed to be in January) and is already seeing someone new. It's obvious this guy is why she called off the wedding. She didn't cheat. But still. So I messaged her and lovingly told her that I care about her and want what's best for her but she needs to be aware of how her actions are affecting and hurting other people and how that can potentially come back to bite her in the butt. She didn't want to hear a word I had to say and got defensive over it. I told her as someone who loves her it's my job to tell her the truth whether she wants to hear it or not and that I wouldn't bring it up again and would give her some space to cool down from our conversation. But truthfully I want to beat her over the head with a cast iron frying pan until she realizes she's being careless and hurtful.
  • I tried the Fre Chardonnay this weekend, not bad.

@ashleyrobertson0113 personally, if one of my friends went through something as difficult as calling off her wedding and had the strong moral fiber to do so based on feelings she was having for someone else while not indulging in those feeling until she went through the painful process of ending her engagement, I'd probably be pretty sympathetic to the pain she was going through and the courage it must have taken to admit she'd made a mistake with the engagement.

That sounds incredibly hard and embarassing for her, far more so than for any guests or loved one (other than the intended groom). Just based on what you wrote, I'm glad she didn't marry him if he wasn't the one, even if he was hurt. Wouldn't having these issues have hurt more after the wedding if they'd gone through with it and weren't right for each other?

Yeah. I'm with you on this one. Far more hurtful to go through a messy divorce. It was a brave thing to do.
  • @HBamama2B & @Atlast111 - I completely agree. I'm not saying she should have stayed with the ex-fiancé. She made the right call there. The issue is that it has been less than three weeks since she called it off and she's already been seen in public with the other guy and people are spreading some nasty rumors about her. My caution to her was to be aware of how people who don't know the whole story are perceiving it and how it is hurting people who were involved.

The problem is that she doesn't care that her actions have consequences or affect anyone else in a negative way yet she flips out and gets all defensive that there are rumors going around.
  • My daycare provider just called. She has found lice in my daughter's hair. I don't know if you can tell by my tiny avatar, but THAT is not hair that is fun to pick through. This is the second time she's contracted lice in a month. I know I shouldn't but I can't help but feel like a bad mom. Luckily my husband is home this time (he was away hunting last time) and he's offered to go get her and do all the dirty work. Sigh.

  • @fishwife799 - how is your SIL doing?

@vikinggirl12 - I need a salad too.  I think that sounds like a great supper.  I ate a 14 inch gluten free pizza this weekend (well, H helped a little).  This needs to stop.

@emztron500 - I want that shirt.  That is all.  ;)

@fishwife799 - I hope the baby stays put a while longer.  Vibes to your SIL.

@alysemciver - I have Celiac and it does suck at first.  I discovered I had 4 years or so ago now (started getting really sick when I turned 30...they did the blood work and edoscopy to confirm).  Hugs.  There are good alternatives out there now for gluten-free products.  Feel free to message me if you want any suggestions or have any questions.

@itsstackie - I tried a glass of Ariel "wine" this weekend.  It was terrible and I dumped it.  Maybe I'll give Fre a try.

@courtjack - Ugh, lice.  I'm sorry, that sounds terrible for you guys and your daughter.

    ---------------------------------------

I need to eat better and start working out again.  I'm starting today but someone mentioned Mexican food and now I really want Mexican food tonight...sigh.  I'm craving fatty and unhealthy food and I normally don't.  I usually love fruit and salads but I want mayo and cheese and chips and pizza and butter. Its jeans day today at work and I was shocked this morning that my pre-maternity jeans still fit me (barely). I'm a-ok with weight gain during pregnancy (and I'm gaining, trust me) but I do need to eat healthier nutritionally speaking.
  • @mkemommy - it's hard eh? Knowing how you're used to eating and feeling bad about the kinds of food your body is craving right now :( Don't beat yourself up. I bet soon enough you're appetite will return to what you're normally used to. I have been meaning to get my juicer back out so even though I'm not eating a LOT of veggies, I could drink some and feel better about my nutrient intake. Not a lot of healthy stuff packed into my cheez whiz sandwich :(
  • @fishwife799 Glad they could stop things.  Also interested in an update over here!  Medicine is so great nowadays, there is so much that can be done if that baby just has to make its entrance early.  But I hope it cooks longer...

@courtjack My biggest fear is lice.  Good luck.  :/

@ everyone else HAPPY MONDAY!!!!  Nothing too random to say.  I work 4 days a week (off Fridays), BUT this is the last 4 day work week before 2 THREE day work weeks fro Christmas and New Year's.  The countdown is ON.

  • Lice is seriously one of my biggest "fears" as a mom. Somehow, we've avoided it, and I've never had it. But just....ewwwwww. I'm sorry you're dealing with that, @CourtJack!
  • This week is all about surviving to Friday!

Also, I'm sad that I packed a portion controlled lunch today. I want all the food.
  • I tried the Fre Chardonnay this weekend, not bad.
I bought the sparkling version for Christmas morning and I am excited! I miss mimosas and wine so much I am hoping this is a good compromise!
