  • @BabySeaTurtles There's no chance I would have done it either lol, but I was just repeating what my midwife told me.

  • I got news last night that a lot of us probably would enjoy getting. I went to the ER for heart palpitations and since I'm pregnant, they tested my urine. They found ketones in my urine so I've been told to eat more carbs. Who doesn't like being told to eat more carbs? Not me!

    All the bread and pasta!!!!

Lucky! I wish someone would tell me to eat carbs. It's normally my staple and having to limit myself to 70g/meal and 20g/snacks is AWFUL

I just failed my first glucose test as well. Waiting to hear when I have to take the 3 hour test. And I cried like a baby when I found out while I was at work lol
  • I failed glucose test too but barely...133...I tried to argue with them to let me take the 1 hour one again since I was so close to passing but no dice  . Praying I pass the 3 hour!
  • I got a 135 and the nurse that called said I barely failed too. She said I might just have to do 2 hours but still! Grr!! @kira91499 @middy411 I'll pray we all pass the 3 hour test!

  • Oh wow, my paperwork said up to 134 was normal and my doc actually said she was fine with up to 140. Lucky me, because my results from my 1 hour came in at 137! Close call.
  • 1. I'm so achy! My stomach is hard and he is moving in there a ton!  I wish I knew what he was doing.
    2. My due date is a holiday, and since I have to have a csection, the doctor's office won't allow me to schedule on my due date!  You know one of them will be on call and present at the hospital that day, so I don't know what the big deal is.
    3. Hubby and I decided to tell people what we are naming our baby.  With the first we kept it a secret until the week she arrived.  I did that on purpose cause I don't want unwelcome opinions of our name choice.  Sure enough, I've already had people tell me that I can't name our child Gage.  Get over it people.

Why do people think they have a right to comment on what we name our children? If you're not growing them and if you didn't donate to the process; GET OUT!

Have you seen the Baby Names board on here? Some people should listen to other's opinions. Gage is cute, though.

I have, there's one family who I think may want to change their names I will admit, but for the most part (at least on this board) there's not any "bad/crazy" names.
ETA: the family isn't a part of this group , I just mean that I've seen.

Ultimately if someone's really happy I wouldn't say anything. You REALLY wanna name your kid ketchup and have a good reason? Okay. Good for you.

    .. Okay maybe not ketchup.

Nope. Sorry. You cannot convince me that there's a good reason to name your child Tremendous Johnson.

They have high expectations I suppose?

This is so tempting but don't do it ! My firstborn didn't fit into the winter snowsuit I bought while I was pregnant . He is tall for his age and would have fit in it in the summer! Sizing is so tricky when they are that young.

Yup! This! As tempting as it is to buy allll he cute Christmas stuff it's so hard to know what sizes they will be in. DD was in still in 3 month clothes in December when she was 6 months old so all the clearance winter stuff I had bought for her didn't fit at all :(

Update: I passed the 3 hour test :-) but the lab tech was so rude! I've never experienced rudeness at my doctor's office before, but this lady was. My nurse told me too have them let her know after the 2nd hour my results because if I passed both of those I wouldn't have to stay for the 3rd hour. When I told the lab tech that she laughed in my face and said I'll be here for the 3 hours. After the 3 hours she acted all put out to go find my nurse to tell me my results. Oh well, at least I passed. :-)

  • I feel your pain!! My DH thinks he is so funny when he jokingly says,"we now interrupt this marriage to bring you hunting season!" He wants to go again between Christmas and New Year's since he has time off from work. I don't have extra days off around the holidays, our 2 year old doesn't have school, I'm 7 1/2 mos. pregnant, and the new baby's room isn't ready! What is wrong with them?!?!

Congrats @kirkie928 ! I passed mine today too with flying colors! . You would think with modern medicine there would be a better way to test for this. I felt a little off the rest of the day. I passed every hour too but still had to stay for the 3 hours so maybe thats just protocol and nurse should have communicated your situation to lab? Regardless she shouldnt have laughed in your face!
  • Hey @BumpAdmin , your app is broken again...

  • I've been anxious because we've listed our house for sale and are planning to move to the other side of California upon getting a contract. I am worried about switching OBs so late in the game. If we are caught between places our back-up plan is to go to our hometown and stay with family but the idea of bringing my new baby girl home to the guest room at my in-law's house is less than appealing, even though I have great in-laws.
I am worried about house hunting and escrow closing times and then if by some miracle THAT all works out, there's moving while so pregnant. I won't have to lift anything heavy but there's plenty of little boxes to carry and my back hurts all the time as it is, and I don't sleep well- I don't think many of us on this board do. There's cleaning up the new place, finding new places for everything, setting up DS's room as well as DD's new nursery. I have been reassured that everything will be alright but I'm just not feeling it and am grateful for the chance to rant here a bit.

  • @Deronimo which side of California are you going to? I have my family up north and my in laws down south. I was going to say I can have them pull some ads and let you know where to avoid.

I'd basically say I'm not helping with moving I think other than maybe boxing some stuff up and unpacking. Not sure if you have friends and family that can help you guys but, ugh I would not be helpful

  • We are going to south Lake Tahoe.
  • Had a dr appointment on Friday and the dr said I need to seriously take it easy. They said I'm doing too much and I don't know how to slow down. My H works out of state and we have two DDS that are handfuls however with work and holidays I have been ordered to take it easy and don't overdue it. Not sure how this weekends dance recital schedule is going to work out well with Drs orders but I will do my best.
