After losing 14 pounds through the 1st trimester I have finally gained 5lbs. I did the happy dance on the scale and the nurse was laughing because I was thrilled I finally gained some weight. I absolutely in no way am happy about losing weight during pregnancy, in fact it is extremely stressful. But any-hoo, I am ecstatic that the scale is cooperating finally at 22 weeks Edit to add how far along I am
20w5d and -3 from prepregnancy weight. Lost 10 in first tri. I couldn't be eating worse and sit at a cubicle 9 hours a day but I think my body is just used to it. I'm slightly chubby to begin with. I gained 85 with my first, I changed jobs, lifestyle, my schedule and got pregnant all within a few months. My husband asked the dr about not gaining yet- I wanted to yell at him so bad! Like come on, clearly our baby is the correct size and I'm overweight already!
Currently 23 weeks and at first I lost a grand total of 20lbs and have only gained 1. I have gestational and have been watching my food but all I want to eat is caarrbbss! But I can't! So lots of healthy eating for me. The doctor hasn't shown any concern... Should I be though?! About the weight gain I mean. They only want me to gain 10-15lbs anyways
I'm sure if your doctor isn't concerned, then you're fine. I'm merely curious, but are you saying that you are then at -19 from the start or did you gain the 1 in addition to regaining the lost 20?
Well, you have 17 weeks left so if you shoot for gaining just a little under the recommended pound a week from now till D Day, you should be fine. I gained 3 lbs this past week, so maybe I need to take my own advice, lol. Then again, Thanksgiving is coming up... and then Christmas cookies... the struggle is real.
I would definitely be -19 lol I just gained my one pound these past two weeks. Hahah dday!! I am excited for thanksgiving I am actually off of work and can be with my family! Woo hoo!
I've stopped weighing myself teehee....But this kiddo is NOT liking sugar. My cravings last few days are smoked salmon, avocados, brie, and peanut butter with yogurt. Maybe @mcbb224 you should consider adding more fat to your diet? It's easier to get in the calories without really trying to make yourself eat a ton. And it is highly nutritious.
I'm up 15 pounds at 21 weeks... I started at 130 (and I'm 5'4) and I've never weighed more than 130 since I was 18.... so it's a bit overwhelming to be 145... I don't feel like I look 15 pounds heavier though... My cup size went from B to a D so my husband says I'm all boobs and baby.
I refuse to weigh myself any more....the number depresses me. I have gained WAYYYY too much weight early on thanks to my Thyroid quitting.... I feel good, and that's all that matters. Any extra weight I have at the end just means I will have to work a little harder to lose afterwards.
+2 at 23w. Started over weight, so I'm happy. Ideally I'd gain only 10 more, but doctor didn't give me any specifics when I asked- just said- starting weight not an issue to worry about. To me it is! I already feel so tired just walking in to work each day. I'm always out of breath all the sudden.
I'm 25 weeks and at my dr appt last Friday was up 8 lbs. 4 of it I gained in 2 weeks. I'm still only supposed to gain 8-11lbs because Im overweight and have high blood pressure not just when pregnant. So my doctor wasn't too pleased and made sure to mention it.
@tJaffe I'm almost the exact same as you! It's scary for sure, but I joke it's mostly my boobs happy to gain a little weight for a healthy baby, but I'm going to start stepping on the scale backwards pretty soon here!

I feel you. The number on the scale is a lot worse than the weight gain! 24 1/2 weeks and at 155. Starting weight 137 18 lbs gained.
It was definitely shocking for me the first time around. I was 117 and had never seen the scale read above 125. I was almost 160 by the time I had my daughter! I'll probably weight right around that when this little guy arrives. But it all does eventually come back off.
I'm up like 15-16lbs which is okay, but I keep obsessively comparing it to my previous pregnacies and worrying if it's too much, if I'm further ahead than I was in the past, if I'll gain too much total, etc. I really need to let it go, I eat reasonably healthy and exercise every day, and the rest is pretty much out of my control. But easier said than done for some reason.
25 weeks tomorrow. Lost 20 first trimester from going off anxiety meds and cutting out pop and Starbucks plus I was at my highest weight ever by about 25-30 lbs from the anxiety meds. I'm only up 2. Doctor doesn't seem concerned in the least. Everyone except my mother is freaking out that I'm "so skinny" and have such a tiny belly. If dr isn't worried I'm not worried.
I am 24 weeks. Up 18 pounds. Gained 9 in the last 4 weeks. What can I say? Food is delicious. Time to get a little more serious about watching what I eat. But just a little bit...
I just want to know what is the point of this thread now? You all should stop comparing yourselves to others, there are too many variables and there's no point in doing so. Reading what one woman has done "oh I'm 17 weeks and I've lost 5 pounds overall!! Haha oops" is not going to make you feel good or realistic. Stop talking about weight and then so many women won't be self conscious over it. I'm 20 weeks and up 18-20 pounds. Guess what!? Who cares!!
I started at 127 and I'm 5'7 so I look great!!
Yes!! Finally someone who has the same answer as me! I'm tired of seeing those posts about being 20 weeks and having only gained two pounds. I have nothing against that, but I have gained 14 pounds at 19 weeks pregnant (I too am 5'7") and I don't really give a crap. If I start gaining too fast I'll worry, but I could still gain 20 pounds in the next 20 weeks and still be right on track so I'm not stressing about it.

I started this thread to see if other people were feeling the same way that I was about gaining weight. It was not suppose to be for a comparison to others at all, as there already is a thread for that. I was just feeling really down and hoping other people were going through the same thing ( not to wish sadness on anyone, but just to know pregnancy makes us all a little crazy ). I don't feel compelled to apologize for the posts, but if you have such an issue with them why bother reading any of them if you clearly are not on this thread to be apart of a community and just to criticize. We are all only human and comparing ourselves to others is way too easy. If you don't do that, great for you. But don't belittle people just because they are human. Just don't bother engaging with them. Again. This thread is suppose to be to share your feelings on you weight gain or lack of and how it's taking a toll on your mind and body. What things we can do to prepare ourselves to get the weight back off etc. but people can discuss whatever they want. That's how it works
Week 22. Lost about 25 pounds in first trimester and have already packed it back on. I worry about that, but doctor doesn't seem to mind. I feel like a breathless whale when I go for a walk these days and I am just praying we make it to the 35 week mark. With it being twins, anything after is just gravy. I have to keep in mind though, with multiples the weight gain for me will more than likely slow down in the 3rd trimester as I run out of room for food. So when I step on their scale every 2 weeks and see that I have gained another 4 pounds I just gotta shake off the worry.
I'll be exactly 26 weeks tomorrow. Had an appointment today and weighed in at 162, I'd say pre-pregnancy was 135. So I've gained about 27 lbs. However, 12 of that was in the last month...oops...but hoping at least a few of those 12 lbs is muscle since I've still been weight lifting this whole time!!
