  • One of the twins was fussy at Target so I took her out of her car seat. When I was checking out I set her back down in her car seat. Without buckling her in her car seat we drove all the way home....oops!
  • ^^awe :( I am so nervous about this that if I MUST shower while alone with my boy, I have a bassinet mattress that I keep in the bathroom closet and I set it up in the bathroom so that he can nap or play or watch mommy and not be alone - it is very likely more than a tad overboard but he cries violently if left alone and I am not ready to let that happen. Hopefully your monitor stops malfunctioning. I am sure baby is no worse for the wear...and enjoyed the nap with his mommy.

^^I put the playmat on the floor of the bathroom, it keeps her entertained for long enough to let me shower, plus I can still talk to her if she starts to fuss.
  • You all have much larger bathrooms than I do! I couldn't fit LO in there :)

I've only left her a handful of times to shower, but I try to be super quick.
  • I usually get up a little before LO does, so I can take a shower. Otherwise I just put her on the bathmat and sing or play peek-a-boo with her.
  • I feel guilty. I leave mine to shower on a play mat in his room. The shower is right next to it though. I can hear him playing and if he cried, I'd hop out.

Same exact here! Her room is next to the bathroom, I leave the doors open and leave her on a mat. She just started rolling though, I'm screwed!
  • Yeah his room is right across from the bathroom so I just went right in dripping.

I don't know what was going on with the monitor, but I powered it off and back on again and toggled the vox off and back on, then tested it and it worked. Now I guess I'll just be sure to check it before I wander off

  • When DS was a week old we were in the living room so daddy could sleep for work and I dropped my phone on his face. Didn't even wake up. Dad has also pinched his skin in the car seat buckle and I kneeled on his poor little hand (it didn't break). I felt awful for all.
  • I put mine in a bouncy seat in the bathroom while I shower.

I accidentally hit his head on my parents dining room table when I was picking him up off the rug. He cried so hard and it left a mark. Ugh I felt awful!
  • Last night on the way to my cousins soccer game we had to turn around halfway there because I forgot to pack a bottle for baby girl. And then today I left my mom 4 bottles and no nipple when she babysat for me. Idiot of the year over here. Luckily she had a few bottles at her house she was able to use.

LO was smelling unusually funky so I gave her a bath tonight. Apparently I didn't have the water warm enough and her lower lip quivered the whole time. It was the most pitiful thing I've seen. Poor girl. She got extra cuddles to warm up after. Even with 2 kids, I can't seem to get the temp right.

DH is annoyingly critical of how I run the bath. Never full enough and always too warm. Last night I ran the bath while he undressed her, then went to clean the kitchen. Definitely heard him dump the bath water and redo it! Wth dude!
  • ^^^ I keep a thermometer on the edge of the tub and take the water temp until it is perfect for LO because I don't trust my judgement since I like my water scalding hot.
  • ^^we have 2 temperature testers. One looks like a credit card with mood ring like sensors that change color based on the correct temperature. It was from the hospital when the babies were born. The other is a "Ducktometer" that looks like a rubber duck. MIL got it for us on Amazon. No worries about water temp here.
  • ^^We use this thermometer we got from babies r us. I love it, it's so cute and easy to use. I have to make sure the water is really stirred up and give it a couple minutes to sit before I trust it's reading, which I guess makes sense for any thermometer. But I recommend it if anybody needs a good one or wants a cute one haha. It has a digital read so you get an actual number so I can always get the water the same temperature each time (97 degrees)..And this makes my perfectionist heart very happy.

This one quit working on me after a week and kept telling me it was too hot when the water was luke warm. I just go by feel now. LO likes it on the hot side so that's what we go by.
  • @henrytviii Ouch! Boys are fun and sometimes a heart attack waiting to happen.
  • No photos on the bump now?? The goose end one to accompany that post needs to be shared! I swear it was up last night and now its gone.

  • ^^ I saw it today, although I think it was before the notice thing at the top.
  • ^^^it won't let me like anyone's posts...I click "love it" and it just blinks and resets itself??? I saw your picture too, but it wouldn't let me view it beyond the thumbnail...did the same thing as when I clicked to like...blinks and nothing
  • We had our first injury today.. She was sitting up in the middle of the boppy today and my boss texted me so I started to text him back while I kept one hand on LO. I thought I had her, but then at some point started paying more attention to my text than her and she leaned forward and reached for a toy, and did a face plant on top of the plastic toy and of course just laid there on the rug screaming while my brain tried to process what just happened.... She only screamed for a few seconds though, and only had a tiny red spot on her eyebrow, but it scared me so bad! I felt terrible! But she was fine.. So moral of the story is don't text and parent at the same time
  • Parenting fail: LO grabbed the spoon and shoved green beans into her eye. I feel terrible.
  • Oh @hudson202 I had that last week. I feel your pain. Feel better, mamma.
  • Well we have had some days with popping not happening I think being more consistent about solids why. Not the fail it came when I went to change his diaper and he was pushing a decent amount of poop out so I was letting him before I put a new one on and well he peed in his own eye oops he wasn't very happy about it. Is it terrible I was just glad it wasn't all over me.
