We have accidentally started driving with LO in her car seat but not buckled TWICE! The first time we only made it two blocks before we noticed, but the second we made it a couple miles on the freeway. Thank god nothing happened!
Our DS (3 yo) just fell down about 8 stairs this afternoon. He has a huge egg size bruise on his eye/eye brow and stair print down the side of his face. Poor kid.
I've dropped my phone on her head, hit her head on a doorframe carrying her through the house, put her car seat in the base and a few blocks later realized she wasn't actually buckled in...do they sell infant helmets? LOL

Oh no! How scary, my daughter fell down 1 flight as a toddler it was horrible

Thank God there were no broken bones. They're still pretty flexible at this age, just a lot of bumps and bruises along the way.
i forgot you need to burp young babies so i wasnt burping my LO till he was like almost 2 weeks. ive dropped my phone and ipod touch on him a couple times now. and yesterday he was in my lap and when i was scrolling through the bump he had thrown himself half onto the couch beside me.
I have dropped my phone on his head, too. DH dropped the TV remote on his head. I haven't done it yet, but I worry about the doorframe a lot. I'm sure it will happen.
Cellphone dropped on head...check Keep narrowly avoiding hitting hey head on a doorway I have cut both her thumbs trimming her nails and last night i went to do tummy time on the dining room table and she head butted it as I was getting her into position
So glad this thread exists! I felt terrible when my son got bumped on the head walking through a doorway. Even worse when DH through his phone on the bed and accidently got him again. When I started freaking out I remembered all those I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant episodes and thought if those babies were fine, we should be too!
A little over a week after we brought LO home, I fell asleep nursing him. I woke up to his head unsupported and he was rooting around still asleep. I felt awful. Have no idea how much time had passed. I've definitely spilled food on him while nursing as well.
Bonked LO in the head with the plastic toy thing that snaps over the bouncy seat. Spilled food onto baby numerous times such that I've had to clean crumbs out of his neck folds. Been unable to catch pee that sprayed into his face during a diaper change. Nail clipper failures ie made his finger bleed and still ended up with bad scratches on his face the next day. Also knocked a full bottle of shampoo onto DS1's head at 2 weeks old. Many more..
^^ my little guy has also sprayed himself on the face. It wasn't very much, but the look of surprise on his face made me laugh, and then I felt bad for laughing. At least he was in his bath when it happened.
I'm glad to see DH and I aren't alone with dropping food on LOs head. I've done that a couple times while wearing her in the wrap and DH dropped pasta on her head a couple days ago while wearing her in the carrier. She had an orange stain on her scalp from the sauce that stuck around until we were able to get her a proper bath as the spot washing we did didn't do the trick.
It's funny to see how common it is to accidentally drop the cell phone on their head while nursing. That's almost happened to me a few times. And often when I'm walking with her I think to myself it's only a matter of time when I accidentally knock her head on a wall.
Well I might win at about three weeks old my baby rolled off the couch. Luckily he is fine and is a sweetheart and only cried for like two minutes.
It's bound to happen to us because when DH has him, he always falls asleep and has Lo on the edge laying next to him.. I told him at least move him to the inside!
Accidentally spilled hot fried rice onto LO while breastfeeding him--he unlatched and started crying. I felt awful! It was only a few grains that fell on his leg and back--I brushed them off and kept an eye on him to make sure there were no lasting burn marks. There were a couple red marks but they faded quickly. Poor little guy! Major mom fail. No more hot food while BFing!
I let LO cry in his car seat in the car for almost an hour, because we'd just stopped to feed and change him. He was inconsolable and had both sweat through his outfit and puked all over it several times. Ugh, I felt so horrible.

Sorry, that sounds rough. Crying in the carseat is the worst, hate it, especially when I'm alone

He settles her in her home as a happy mother of children, praise the Lord! (Psalms 113:9)
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understand, will guard your heart and mind in Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:7)
I dribbled juice on his head while still in the hospital. My husband loved teasing me about it until he handed LO back to me after lunch (PB&Js) one day and I found strawberry jam in his hair.
This post makes me feel so much better!! The ceiling in our bedroom slopes down over our bed and I had DD resting on my legs in the morning and I lifted her up to have DH pull the blankets up so she could be snuggled in better and I bonked her head on the ceiling
My daughter (21months) has fallen down the stairs multiple times... She also had stitches at 14 months old. She's fearless and impervious to pain so she is constantly doing dangerous things and maming herself. I am happy she is still alive at this point.
As for LO, drew a little blood clipping a nail this past weekend. He's peed in his own face...twice. In have bonked his head on the door frame... He's likely going to be tougher than his sister at this rate. Lord help me!
I clipped my sons paci clip onto his skin while trying to clip it onto his clothes it was so heartbreaking, and this all happened right before he got his 2mo. shots, it was not a good day (
I'm actually hard of hearing so, more often than I like to admit, I thought my Lo was sleeping peacefully only to go to the nursery to realize that he is screaming his head off One of our dogs has also been able to sneak a few "French kisses" to the LO as well, I guess that's one way to build up his immune system?!?
I was eating a snow cone type thing and a little ice fell on DD's bare belly. She squirmed and groaned. Poor girl.
I've definitely dropped my phone on her head a couple of times.
At a couple of weeks old, I didn't put the car seat bar up when I took her out of the car and she was facing straight down while I carried her from the car to the house. Luckly she was strapped in tight but I felt awful!
You guys. I am seriously losing it! I just did it again - I had her in her carrier unstrapped while shopping and ended up popping her in the base and driving a few miles through busy traffic home without realizing she wasn't really strapped in! This is inexcusable. I would kill DH if he did that - I'm not sure he'd hear the end of it. Feeling so guilty now. This is not happening again!

Our monitor links to my phone and I've accidentally turned it off while half asleep before. Major guilt!
I've pinched LO while cutting his nails before too. He screamed and I ended up in tears while DH calmed him down. Then a few minutes later LO scratched himself and started screaming again. Little guy cannot handle any bit of pain.
Re: Parenting fails
This morning DH gave LO a bath and left his socks on when doing so... I told him it probably won't be the last time... Ha!
ive dropped my phone and ipod touch on him a couple times now.

DD who is 4 called someone a "douche" and six flags great adventure. That was a proud parenting moment *insert sarcasm*

I was in my perants caravan and lifted up LO to smell his bum and hit his head on the roof.

When LO was smaller, he fell asleep with his head slumped in the carseat and woke up with the Graco logo indented on his face, from the cheat clip
