Randoms!

Re: Randoms!

  • Ugh, the pinching! Lo is constantly pinching my face, fingers up my nose and then tries to put them in my mouth. I'm over it!

    @lovethatcolosun I'm dying!!! =))

  • DS, who is 3 now, hit the stranger, danger phase from 6-9 months. Nobody except my dh or I could hold him, or he'd scream bloody murder. My parents were always around him, but they couldn't even hold him. He'd smile and giggle at them as long as we were holding him. That was a long 3 months!
I've read that's normal. Kind of dreading it starting just in time for Christmas! :(

He settles her in her home as a happy mother of children, praise the Lord! (Psalms 113:9)
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understand, will guard your heart and mind in Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:7)

  • LO has started having weird stranger danger reactions randomly when she turned 5 months. Not all the time. And one time was my mom, who she's met um, a million times in the last 5 months, obviously. Weird.
  • My LO is happy as long as someone is holding him - he doesn't care who...I figured it was because he spent 5 weeks in the NICU with a multitude of nurses passing him off in shifts. My husband has a large family and of course they all want to hold him and he goes happily from one set of arms to the next. I figured that if we keep it up he will be friendly and well rounded. He will definitely be behind in some development stuff though just because of his premature birth
  • Aaaaaand I forgot I decided to wear make up today. Mascara fail.

Not necessarily! :) how pre was he..
  • @HayesRN13 - he was 2 months early (due 8/27, born 6/24)
  • Does anyone else have put marks in their fingernails? It's like a dotted line across all my nails. I was wondering if it corresponded with LO's birth. Change in hormones maybe?

ok soo i don't know why but my app is all screwed up again! UGHH! it won't tell me where i am and nothing is highlighted. Apparently I'm also not in another group all of a sudden. I tried logging out/ in again but it still isn't working. any ideas? hopefully this comes up the right name.. nope. i tried logging in on computer so its under the wrong name. (caitlincunn)
  • this is so annoying.. any one know how to fix this!?
  • ^^ There you are! I think you're fixed!
  • I'm on the computer not the app! still working on it :(
  • That happened to me a little while ago. It regulated itself again. I logged onto the computer and the app and kept clicking on all the threads I regularly read. It finally kept track. I don't know what I did to have that happen though. I guess keep trying to log in and out of the app and computer.
  • still not working. maybe tomorrow it will fix itself. so much easier to bump on my phone when lo is eating!

@caitlincunn the app does this to me sometimes too. Once it was for a couple of weeks, which was a bit frustrating. If you want those little yellow badges to reappear while the app is being finicky, just hit the refresh arrow at the top right corner. Annoying, yes...but it's a temporary fix.

Eta: editing the damn auto correct.
  • Thanks, I'll try it!
  • I don't think LO has a clue what her name is! And for the same reasons - I probabaly don't use it enough. LOL Poor kiddo.
  • Well - my kid hates a bath before bed! I usually bathe him during the day and my MIL suggested trying before bed to make settling down for the evening a little easier - FAIL!!!!!!!! It took 1.5 hours to put him to bed tonight - he lost his s$&t and I tried all the tricks in the book to get him down. DH usually puts him to bed while I get to wind down a bit with a bath and when I was done my bath DH threw up his hands and said that LO was my problem since I'm the genius who bathed him...not sure what I will do when I am back at work and don't have the luxury of bathing him during the day.

    Wow that is so cool!
  • LO definitely knows her name. My sister came to babysit while we went out to dinner tonight and she hadn't seen LO in a month and was like "oh my god she's so different!" It's good to know there's change even if I can't see it because I'm with her all the time.
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
  • @alcrimmins I looked up all the monitors available given the impeding removal of LO's monitor...the owlet was definitely cool...
  • Thanks @janit368! I agree but was too lazy to look up any facts to back my opinion. I'm lucky that my pediatrician really doesn't push any particular way of parenting or this is best type attitude. Her only comment was that my LO is still waking at night bc she's probably hungry. Now what I want to do about that is up to me. I'd also like to know what qualifies as STTN (how many hours in a row & how many nights). My LO slept 8 hours one night, just one. Does that count?! :) I do know in Dr. Sears book he says it's normal for a baby to wake 1-2 times per night to feed during the first year of life so I'm not worried. I'm taking this whole parenting thing one day at a time & one night at a time.
  • @janit368 Our pedi said STTN is sleeping 8 hours. They said 90% was sleeping 8 hours and "most" were sleeping 11-12. That makes more sense than 90% sleeping all the way through the night.
  • @virginiaunicorn11 - I feel your pain...we have been on a 3 hour loop during the night and 2 hour loop during the day for a few weeks now. He was JUST starting to give us 5-7 hour stretches at night and then he just regressed back to "kitchens open on demand all night...scratch that 24/7"
  • For the past week or so lo has been sleeping 8-6/6:30. Hopefully this keeps up. She has been waking to eat 1 time from 12 weeks until 20 weeks, before that she was sttn completely until 7 am but I think maybe going to bed later? I can't remember
