Re: Randoms!

  • My town isn't as small as Melly's, but I'm 45 minutes from the nearest Target. 45 minutes from Starbucks too.

  • @kbooth412 pretty much agree with everyone else. Don't see how it's selfish. I'd go. It sucks, but when family needs you, they need you.
  • Yeah I'm lucky we have the Target and the Walmart. Otherwise I would literally have nowhere to buy diapers and formula other than the grocery store or online

  • @kbooth412 Great that your husband feels that way, an you're on the same page. Put that unhelpful comment out of your mind and just continue to be grateful you have such a supportive family, immediate ad extended. That's so wonderful!

As PP said, it's a good example for LO, and only DH's opinion matters. Hugs, lady, hope your grandmother gets well soon
  • Little man has a slight cold and pink eye. I feel so bad. He must have gotten it from the Chiro as he doesn't go anywhere and we honestly don't leave the house much. So stupid :(
  • Pink eye can result from a slightly blocked tear duct. LOs cousin (4 days younger than him) got it from this......
I haven't looked into it but it's what the SIL says
  • Thanks @Sammy K @klkonwi he is pretty cheerful during the day. Not so much when he wakes up in the middle of the night with his eye stuck shut. Definitely viral not bacterial. BM does seem to be soothing it
  • ^^we had an eye crusted shut from a blocked tear duct. It took a couple of days of wiping with a warm washcloth and massaging, but eventually cleared up.
  • @janit368 it may not even be pink eye. When LO gets a cold she gets green goop on her eye that crusts it shut. If the inside of the eye is not red it is just cold related.
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
  • @hudson202 - my LO had the exact same thing happen...it cleared up pretty quickly with warm damp cotton pads and a little massage a few times a day
  • @Sammy K Where did you order them from?! I've been wanting to do this!
  • @Sammy K Where did you order them from?! I've been wanting to do this!

Target online was the cheapest I found. There's just not a huge selection of women's in stock or infants.

Pajama gram and sleepytime were 2 others, but adult pj's were $60 each and I spent $75 for all 4 at Target.
  • ^^ I ordered a few new toys for lo and they came today, I was so excited!
  • Anyone elses baby very strange around some people?? My LO will freak out, give the lip, and cry hard around some people. Dr said that's not suppose to happen until 7-8 months and that she is very bright for her age

LO does that too. I've noticed that she's developmentally ahead of DS at this age but I think it's common for girls. I just keep hoping she will be easier to potty train. [-O<
  • ^^ i have also heard girls develop faster. I know my niece developed faster than my nephew (boy/girl twins). To the point my sister was concerned about him being delayed because all she could compare to was his sister and her bffs daughter. He catches up eventually

  • May LO has major stranger danger as well and he's a boy. I think there's just a huge range of behaviors and you have to look ahead and behind several months at this point depending on the kid. LO was early with smiles and social babbling so it makes sense to me that he's attached to mom and dad early. He's ridiculously behind on physical milestones. 100% opposite of my first boy.

  • Lo screams and cries at both grandmas and also some others..
  • @mellymar totally agree with your philosophy and used to hand LO off a lot but for the last few weeks his little face just crumples when I do this and his eyes instant get red and watery. He still loves people talking to him or making faces at him but he doesn't want them to hold him. I hope its just s short phase, I'm not psyched about it. And he's insanely heavy.

  • Aww that sucks @henrytviii. I hate the crumple face. I would totally be like 'give me back my baby!' if I saw that.

  • DS, who is 3 now, hit the stranger, danger phase from 6-9 months. Nobody except my dh or I could hold him, or he'd scream bloody murder. My parents were always around him, but they couldn't even hold him. He'd smile and giggle at them as long as we were holding him. That was a long 3 months!

My boy will go to anyone willing to hold him. Bonus points if that person is an old lady or has a beard. I didn't associate it with development, just thought I had a social kid. Meh, whatevs.

My kid cheeses and will go to anyone as well, I love it.
  • My LO seems willing to go to anyone and always has, thus far. I'm guessing daycare has only helped with that. I have noticed though that if she's very tired she's a little less tolerant. A freshly fed baby is always happiest in this house!

In other news, the most serious new skill in this house is pinching!!! Ouch! She doesn't know her own strength.

My LO loves to pinch too. Her favorite pinching toy? My boobs, especially the left one. Needless to say I've been very diligent on cutting her nails. @-)
  • Ouch the pinching is horrible! I get my boob pinched, but I think my hands are the worst !

You guys ever wonder if babies get headaches? I know nobody knows the answer to this... Its just a late night insomnia ponder. :-/

Yes!!! I definitely wonder. I would feel terrible if those unexplained crying fits were from headaches.
  • My guy started pinching too, like big chunks. Time to dig out the nursing necklace
