I'm so sorry Joy. That's really disappointing. Tonight calls for alcohol, junk food, sweats, and a good movie. You will absolutely get your BFP. I'm glad the doctor has a plan of action for your next cycle. I'll be cheering you on!
@ShayLatrice .. I thought just preparing me for the FET. I didn't hear much after she said I wasn't pregnant. She mentioned Lupron and growth stimulating factors. I will need to ask some more questions when I see her next and my head is on straight. @LCK0830 .. How dos you know? Sweats are on already. Hubby is bringing home my favorite dish from Carrabas and I'm pretty sure Grey's Anatomy is on tonight (I know.. Don't judge me.. Lol) and a friend brought over home made whoopie pies! I'm hoping baby boy embryo will implant next time around.
@Joyzie77 I started my greys marathon after my last failed IUI. DH got addicted and now watches it every night. He's up to season 5 already. No judgement here. Have a drink or two for me. I'm so sorry for you Hun.
When you come up from the sweats-greys-booze-a-thon ask about whether they are doing an ER or just FET. My guess is with a long suppression protocol that's a full IVF cycle (stim, ER, fresh ET). We are here with you till this works.
@ShayLatrice idk. I feel strongly that we are in the no woman left behind stage of our journey. Who says we have to separate just Bc that's how it's been done before? This thread already has more posts than any I can find in the history. I'm here till every last one of you finds your very own slice of happiness.
....Besides, if something happened to my pregnancy (and the ugly odds still give me night terrors), I just couldn't imagine dealing with it without all of you. Sniff.
{{Also... And this is petty and silly but! Today they said my ovaries are still swollen and there's free fluid in my abdomen so no excersize and even worse--no SEX! ~X(
So if you unlucky ladies could get lucky for me. ..... :-w I feel like someone should enjoy that wonderful activity that precedes baby arrival in real life.}}
I agree @HBamama2B I talk about you ladies to my husband almost every night. What is going on with you guys is important to me. I get excited for bfp's and sad for the "not this time but soons". Only other women (and men) who are going through this process knows what it feels like. So that in itself brings a closesness to the group.
We are at an almost 70ish % pregnancy rate. Thats higher than the average. I really do believe that the wonderful support we have in eachother helps. It brings positivity and a stress relief. We need to be here for everyone until we all have our bfp.
@athompson0308 ...I almost cried because you cried. I'm a mess! On a positive note. I'm freakin giddy I do t have to PIO tonight!!!!!!!!!! I agree with Ti. You guys are my peeps! I want to hear the rest of your baby stories. To all of us getting our slice of happiness!!
@joyzie77 I am so so sorry for you! Like so many said before me, this group isn't going anywhere, we'll be here for you!
We must all be hormoned up, because I am weeping reading all the responses today. @HBamama2B"I feel strongly that we are in the no woman left behind stage of our journey." I so strongly believe that, it gives me hope as we all move forward to our next steps.
maybe some of you are more versed in the med protocol. When I spoke to the doctor she mentioned that she was going to add Lupron to the protocol. Any of you understand that medication to be used just before the transfer or do you think the doc wants me to start the whole process over again? I was excited because I have one embryo and was hoping to not have to go through all the shots again but maybe I misunderstood the process. Any thoughts?
Lupron has two uses that I'm aware of. It can be used as a down regulator in long protocols (Lupron overlapped with OCPs then stim period for a longer cycle) or it can be used in conjunction with HCG as a dual trigger which forces eggs to develop but prevents release.
In the long protocol, it essentially puts the patient into 'menopause' and stabilizes development. As a trigger, it helps prevent ohss in high risk patients, but can also help prepare your body for medically tweeked ovulation which they might be doing for an FET. I haven't had an FET or a long protocol. I used Lupron as a dual trigger to prevent ohss. Definitely call tomorrow to clarify which route they are going and if you want to try FET with the remaining embryo, tell them. It's your decision. They may have moved forward to a new protocol, not realizing you want to give this one more cycle. Or it could just be your trigger/prep med.
Imma go ahead and do a fertility-chant-rain-dance for you too to bring on the AF and get your new cycle started!
@Joyzie77 I'm so sorry! I don't understand why doctors try to explain things to us after bad news. Glazed over, blank stares are all they usually get... Don't they see we aren't listening?
I would call tomorrow and talk to your doctor again so you Understand the new protocol being used. If you have 1 embryo than you can just transfer. My RE said it doesn't involve stimming but may involve a few injections, but very minimal. I don't know much more than thAt though, sorry! Call and find out what the plan is!
Lots of air hugs! Hang in there!

I was worried about the spotting so i went in for an U/S! We have 1 little bean. No heartbeat yet as its too early- 5w2d. Going in next week to see the heartbeat.
I found out that i am blood group 0- ! This can be problematic in pregnancies. I was injected aroduct now and should be fine! So excited!
Thanks Ti and @Colleen0516 .. I'm going to call today. I will also need to get the meds as well.. I'm sure they aren't going to be cheap. That's ok though. Today is a new day! Thanks for keeping me up when I was down.
You ladies are the best. Such an amazing, supportive, genuinely loving group!!
WE AINT GOIN' NOWHERE!! September / October IVFers FOR LIFE!! \:D/
@Christiniv glad you got some peace of mind and a healthy u/s! Interesting about your blood type! So much to learn!!!
@HBamama2B I guess the exercise restrictions, etc are very person-specific. Sorry about your darn ovaries! If it makes you feel better, although I was given the okay for sex/exercise and was SO happy, I have yet to cash in on either! All I want to do is sleep!! Poor DH.
@Joyzie77 I woke up in the middle of night thinking of you and wishing you happy dreams! Even if you move to other groups for new support we will still be HERE cheering YOU and everyone on! Such a cool bond that has brought us all together. And as for Lupron, my RE had me on it for my fresh and frozen cycle... Although less, I was still surprised and how much meds and appts went into my FET. Like @Colleen0516 said if you have 1 frozen I would ask about using that first! Also I always ask my nurses to EMAIL me with info. So at the end of a phone call I would just say, "now could you email me that information?".
Although still mistakes can happen: I just found out I was suppose to take Estrace VAGINALLY and I have been taking it ORALLY! My doctor was confused and it is working fine so no worries, but I even pulled up my email that said ORAL! Opsy daisy.
@mclorn .. Thank you. I called this morning. They are using the Lupron as part of the FET protocol to use my last frozen embryo. Just waiting for AF. Ti has that covered die me because she did a special dance for me.
@mclorn yap i know! Its when you are o negative - very happy that she gave me that and hope to have a hh pregnancy like all of you! I am sure that next cycle will work for you @Joyzie77
HBamama2B you just say the right things all the time... if you ran for President I would vote for you. I planned on getting lucky on next Friday, but then I remembered we are taking two of our mentees on a road trip for a college tour they are being offered scholarships at... so no nooky for me then either. I might have to sneak hubby away in the car or something...
Joyzie77 I talked to my nurse yesterday... she told me that I will have to do Lupron injections for a few weeks and also start estrogen and progesterone so I guess the shots are over. ugh...I'm focusing on the end goal!

So I had my 3rd beta today at 20dp5dt, my number was 8775. I think this is good? Unfortunately I have no more blood tests until my first ultrasound which isn't scheduled until nov. 4. I know that really isn't too far away, I just want to see that little heartbeat! I feel most get their first ultrasound around 5-6 weeks, but it looks like 7 weeks is the norm for my doctor.
@runmeg91 7 weeks is good for a first ultrasound because then you should definitely see a heartbeat! Anything before then is possibly too early. 8775 is a great #! I don't have bloodwork with my ultrasounds :-/ , just my 3 betas and since they were fine that's it I guess.... every place is so different! I dunno! I think at this point we just gotta stick with our meds and let things happen 'naturally'.
I was on a long protocol so my doctor used Lupron, she said she would use it as well for my FET because it doesn't affect the uterus lining in a negative way. I'm not sure if she is going to just have be on estrogen this time or if I have to BCPs... I feel like I'm starting over because I know nothing about a FET cycle.

@HBMama2B ... Any particular kind? I like iced tea. @ShayLatrice . My last cycle was a FET. This cycle I will get AF. Take BCP's then do Lupron, then progesterone and estrace and then a 7 day transfer I think.
Any BFPs use crinone rather than progesterone oil? My doctor wants me on crinone. I've read the efficacy rates are pretty equal probably better for crinone with a fresh transfer. Seems like everyone is on the oil.
Great news @Colleen0516! I start Sunday. I have some issues with my meds...they aren't ready, but a friend who is now pregnant after her 4th IVF cycle had some extra follistim for me. Disaster averted! My doc only has me on follistim no menopur. I hope I still get lots of eggs!
@Rachd110 I was/am on PIO, fresh transfer. It hurts and sucks, but honestly the crib one sounds really nasty. The is no good progesterone supplement! Lol.

Well the first 2 injections are complete, but it was quite the comedy act.
Let me preface with: we recently moved back into my parents house, just until we go to closing on our house in December. So tonight was a family affair....
My husband hates hurting me, so sticking me with a needle (that he knows I fear!) isn't his first choice. Well, we prepared the shots (which was worse than the shots itself).
My dad was hovering, making sure all was okay. I sat on my chair, and began to panic because I knew the needle was coming. Naturally, My husband began to get nervous because I was freaking out. My dad covered my eyes (like I was his 2 year old little girl lol) and in went the needle. Menopur shot has been injected (and oh did it burn!), I pushed my dads hand away and opened my eyes, just in time to watch my husband DROP the needle and watch it LAND IN MY LEG!!!!! Lol
Pulled it out and moved on, after pausing to laugh at what just happened.
Follistim shot was next--- it was a cake walk compared to the Menopur.
Fast forward to 30 minutes later, were in the car on the way to dinner and my leg hurts. I rub my leg and feel a bump. When I look, there's a HUGE BUMP and black and blue where the needle landed. I couldn't stop laughing! Lol
First 2 shots completed-- but def not smoothly lol

My Fur Baby: Diva Celeste McClendon
