Hello everyone! I'm in the beginning of my TWW. Official test day is Halloween. I'm going to try my hardest to wait to test until 10/30. Last week, I was worried about my lining coming off BC (for cysts) just prior to starting injects. The nurse was fine with me coming in again Friday morning to check on my lining. It was an 8 on Friday, so I'm feeling better about this round. Still a little disappointed I only have 1 follicle, but it is what it is. And, hopefully it's a great one! I'm feeling pretty relaxed going into this TWW, which is new for me. Now, I'm just praying work stays calm this next two weeks, so O can have as stress-free of a 2ww as possible!

Edit: I forgot QOTW every time! My favorite subject was biology.
    Married to DH 10/6/12

  • DW and I are slowly transitioning to the Mediterranean diet. We won't do it 100%, but we will try to do our best. This will help us eat more fruits n veggies and less processed foods. I want to lose 15 pounds by Jan, and I'm not doing so well lol.

We have our ivf consult Nov 2 and are still counting down the days. We know what we want, but I am so scared of them saying no (either bc of medical or financial reasons). We are taking our pnv, eating a lot better, and I have been putting money in savings and paying off the cc like crazy!!

We did attend a baby shower yesterday. I did so much better than I thought I would. I mean, I did need a little pick me up so we went and bought a baby toy at Target afterwards, but at least I didn't cry or say something hateful at the shower!
    O:-)

Ok, back to counting down the days until Nov 2!!

QOTW: My fav subject was Biology. Total science nerd here. Must be why I decided to go back to school to get my teaching degree to teach Middle School Science :D

RE DX for me: Anovulatory cycles/Mild PCOS  RE DX for DW: Endometrioma on left Ovary.
Reciprocal Ivf Feb 2016. DW eggs and I am carrying. EDD: 10/27/16

Even though we are benched I'm still tracking my cycles so when I see the RE I have more info to discuss. I'm on CD18 and still WTO. I'm thinking this is going to be one of my wonky cycles - I'm barely making any cm at all. I'm crossing my fingers that if I am going to have a long cycle then when I go for my surgery consult I'll magically be in a good part of my cycle for surgery and he will magically have an opening to fit me in right away - a girl can dream lol

QOTW: another science lover here - I work as a molecular biologist :) but I also played clarinet through college and really enjoyed my music classes too.

  • Hello ladies! I'm currently about to ovulate and doing TI. I've been ovulating really early on letrezole, CD 9-10. I had an appointment today to check follies and estradiol levels, but I cancelled it. We've come to the conclusion that we need a break from the dr., for both financial and schedule reasons. It's really hard for me to take time off as I own a daycare right now, so my mom and DH have been helping me watch the kids while I go on appointments. My mom is in the UK, and DH is too busy w/work to help. I'm pretty sure he will be traveling during my next ovulation too :(
So I will be continuing my metformin for my PCOS, but this will be my last cycle on letrozole and trigger at least until Dec/Jan when I close my daycare. Then I start looking for a teaching job!

    Question of the week....
My favorite subject in high school was art, I used to skip other classes to go work on my art. College was definitely science though, biology! I do want to eventually change my special ed teaching certificate to go teach science in middle or high school.

  • Hi everyone!  @yellingbanana looks like we're on the same schedule!  I'm also about to ovulate, just did the trigger yesterday morning so it should happen anytime now.  We're also doing TI so we bd'ed yesterday, will tonight and tomorrow and Wednesday just to be sure.  I took letrozole and gonal-f during beginning of cycle.   Our last cycle of the same didn't work, so we're trying again this time around and hoping this will be the lucky cycle!  I don't have a beta scheduled, my re has just instructed me to POAS at home and contact her if it's positive in two weeks.

    Question of the week....
My favorite subject in hs was probably Journalism.  I was the Editor of the school newspaper and thought it was so exciting!  I loved being the boss and organizing the way the newspaper would look every time it went out.  There was something so satisfying about taking that red pen to other people's articles and refining them to make them better! Weird I know;)  I guess I was one of a kind...
    Married to DH since 8/15
    TTC since 5/15
    PCOS, 35+, diagnosed with pre-diabetes
TI for 4 cycles: 1 round of femara; 2 rounds femara/ injectables: all ended in BFN.
3 IUI Cycles: letrozole/Follistim with HCG Trigger, all resulted in BFN.
    FET #1: Baseline appt 4/28/16, Gonal-F/Menopur stims, Centrotide 5/4/16, ER 5/11/16; 6/8/16 ET, BFN
    FET #2: Baseline appt 6/22/16, Estrace/PIO shots: 7/12/16 ET, 1st beta 7/21/16: 83 BFP, 2nd beta 7/23/16: 315. 1st U/S: 8/4/16 empty sac.  2nd U/S: 8/10/16 yolk sac appeared, everything stopped growing. Office D&C: 8/11/16, MC.
    FET #3: Baseline appt 12/28/16, Estrace/PIO shots: 1/17/17 ET, 1st beta 1/27/17: 146 BFP, 2nd beta 1/29/17: 336, 1st U/S: 2/16/17, 2 healthy twin babies measuring 7w0d.  EDD: 10/5/17

  • Hi Ladies!

I am currently on CD9 and feeling a little defeated this cycle.  I had the talk with my RE about moving forward with IVF or doing lap surgery to check for Endo.  I am going in for exam on the 26th to prep for lap.  I am on my 4th day of BC to get prepared for either direction I go.  This will be just another step in this ugly process of TTC.

    QOTW: probably English

    Married: 8/29/2009
TTC- since we got married (off and on)
TTC with focus: Since July 2015
Currently had 2 rounds of failed IUIs, failed TI monitored cycle
December 2015: Starting 1st IVF cycle
    January 2016: Retrieval
March 2016: Pending Transfer (I have 3 PGS tested embryos waiting for a womb)
April 2016: BFP, the old fashioned way.

  • @Whiggrrl65 Yes, the cost of these injects can be insane. They are liquid gold!! Hopefully the good old fashioned way works!!

@babyexpress I've been wondering about whether I should get a lap done to check for endo before moving to IVF. Did your doctor say why she recommends it before IVF? Could endo hurt the chances of success with IVF? I was thinking/hoping IVF would bypass any endo problems. I'm really interested in knowing how/why you decided to do lap before IVF as I've met my insurance deductible for the year and would want to squeeze it in by the end of the year, if needed. Any insight you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

  • @riveridgional My RE said I could go right into IVF without doing the lap.  He basically said, if I do have Endo, it would go into remission when I get pregnant.  That's "IF" I get pregnant from IVF.  I am actually in some pain now and have been for about 18 days straight now.  I fall under several of the Endo symptoms and I didn't even know this thing existed until I started reading about it on the bump from other ladies.  I have been taking prescription ibuprofen for years because I get really bad cramps during menstrual cycles.  I think you can bypass it if you like, but I am  making this decision because I have a gut feeling I have it and would rather get rid of it before moving forward.  When people do have it, a lot of women tend to get pregnant fairly quickly afterwards.  Some women also have zero symptoms, just unexplained infertility. I would just feel better knowing.

Hey ladies, No real update from last week. Clomid 50mg didnt work. So going back to talk about doing another round at a higher dose. Hoping for better luck next time. Blood work and ultrasounds proved no ovulation occurred this time. Thought about asking for the next round for a trigger shot if this round works, or maybe doing a IUI. But my apt isnt until tomorrow.

  • @babyexpress Thanks for the information. I have a gut feeling I have it too. My dad is a doctor, and I called him once in college because my cramps were so bad I couldn't walk. He told me to take the prescription dose of ibuprofen and 2 extra strength tylenol. Since then, I have to take prescription strength ibuprofen or I will still have cramps. I also believe my cervix has shifted since I noticed a change in how my tampons fill the last few years (very one-sided), and I didn't respond to Clomid though I ovulate on my own. I don't really have any other symptoms though.

  • @riveridgional your welcome.  The most common symptom is pain and excessive pain during menstrual cycles.  Another bumper on here got out of surgery Friday and had stage 2 endo, with zero symptoms, but her RE requested it after 3 failed IUIs.

I also, like you, thought of it is a good time of year to have it done and squeeze it in.

  • I'm 6 dpo (cd 21) and just waiting. I went in today for progesterone lab work and wish it didn't take a week to get the results. I also plan on intentional neglecting my ff chart by not putting any of the symptoms I may get. I know I'm more likely to symptom spot and get my hopes up. The only thing that has bothered me these past two days is my left ovary. Sometimes it feels like it's on fire so hopefully it's actually putting out progesterone.

Qotw: I'm still dealing with classes (last semester of nursing school). Right now my favorite subject is graduating! I did pass my high stakes exam last week so I will graduate in December! Going back to college in the 30's is not fun at all because it's apparent when a course is simply to waste money.
  • I am in my TWW. I couldn't stand it and tested this am. Nothing yet. I will try again on Friday which will be day 28.
My favorite subjects were History and English.
DX PCOS + mild male factor
    TTC since Dec. 2015
Current Treatment: Metformin, Provera, Letrozole, Trigger, IUI
Past Treatment: Clomid + Metformin x 3 BFN
Letrozole 5 mg + Trigger shot + IUI = BFP!
    Beta confirmed 8/22
    EDD 5/1/17
  • just took my last dose of provera today so AF should be arriving in the next few days and then Ill start the rest of my meds and schedule my U/S so we will see what happens this round.
    NTNP since 2012
Officially TTC #1 since January 2015
  • I'm in my TWW, should have AF by the weekend. I have my follow up appt in a couple weeks with my GI Dr to talk about my Celiac results. They were negative, meaning hopefully that I no longer have gluten in my system for my body to react to, but I want to hear it from my Dr. This probably means that we can rule out complications with Celiac being the cause of our infertility. The infertility consult is in early December.

QOTW: French and English. I liked many subjects, but those were the most fun.

  • @Whiggrrl65 it may be too late this cycle, but for the next prescription you get, try using the website/app "GoodRx" they show discounted prices of local pharmacies for all types of medication.

My Novarel injection (1 qty) was not covered by insurance and could potentially run $250-$400 depending on the pharmacy. I used this app and got it for $101 each month at CVS.

I'm an insurance broker and recommend this to all my clients in the event a prescription isn't covered.

    Good luck this month!

  • Hi ladies, I love seeing the hall of fame at the beginning of this weekly post :)

I'm on cycle day 11 and because I was away when my cycle started my OPK monitor won't take tests this month and I'm just going to wing it and hope for a random BFP. I saw my dr today and she gave me a Rx for Clomid to start during my next cycle so I am really optimistic right now. It's been so long since I felt this way I want it to last!

    QOTW: everything history!
    TTC since May 2013

  • Hi ladies,

I'm not new but mostly a lurker... so I am not on the list but I am trying to connect this cycle and offer more support so I can get out of my head!!

    1.  How long have you been TTC? Actively since July 2014

    2.  What is your diagnosis? DOR and I am a poor responder

    3.  What is your current treatment plan? Have had 3 full cycles of IVF all resulted in BFN, 1 natural IVF cycle, and transferred 2 frosties on 10/16. This cycle I am on progesterone, estrogen, predinsone and fraxiparine and hoping all those drugs do the trick! In addition we did embryo hatching and embryo glue. I am going to test on 10/24 as for me that'll be day 26 and I am usually a 25 day cycle.

Fingers crossed for all of you ladies this cycle!!

QOTW: I loved math in highschool. I am not really great at it but I liked that there was a right and wrong answer. In college, biology for sure.

  • Ugghhh looks like I might not be able to get off work for our ivf consult that we have waited forever for. How discouraging. I have been looking for another job that might be a little more flexible with Dr appts, but I LOVE my job. ( I am a nanny and finally found a great family to work for). I am still sad bc my priority is having a baby and it keeps getting pushed back. (Sigh)

  • @twomommiestobe could you come up with a list of questions for DW to ask and let her keep your appointment? Since you are doing reciprocal it seems her part of the treatment would come first anyway, right?

DH is out of town so I'm going to my RE appointment alone but I know we have different situations.

  • Hey ladies! I am currently on CD37 and no AF. Went to my new RE yesterday, have a huge cyst in my ovary from clomid and progesterone is still high (neg blood hcg), so AF will come in about ten days he says. He has a very different approach than my last Dr, he thinks that ovulation isn't my problem and suspects I may have scarring on my c-section scar that is causing my infertility. The ultrasound revealed a mass near the scar also, so next step is to wait for AF and get a hysteroscopy to remove any issues. After that we will see, if there was a tissue issue, unmedicated cycle, if there wasn't he wants to try femara on me, since clomid he says does more harm than good in most women who do have monthly cycles. I am happy with the new Dr, he has an approach to investigate and figure out what's wrong before jumping to treatments and I like that. I always had a feeling that my ovulation was good and I had no idea what was wrong so this new theory makes a lot of sense. Also, it turns out the metformin I was taking (XR) isn't the one that has effect on PCOS; so he switched me for the regular metformin and upped my dose a ton and says that should help me lose weight and ovulate better. Sorry this was so long!

QOTW- I loved history, any current events class, politics, and MUN. I am a lawyer so that would explain why lol.

  • My update: We had our IUI yesterday. Unfortunately there was almost no motility at all. The Dr. still did it for us, I think mostly because insurance requires it as a first step. Afterwards we did our blood draws for the required testing for IVF. We'll start that in the beginning of January.

Question of the Week:  What was your favorite subject in school?
    American History. I love history!

  • DH got a fine SA. I have not had AF in 62 days with a possible conception last week. DR ordered a blood test to rule out bfp before meds on friday to help move things along. I keep looking at every thing going on as a possible symptom even though I told myself I would stop doing that. After 4 years ntnp and 11 months ttc I don't know what to think. Hopefully answers or tests come soon!!

I know it is discouraging, but you are one step closer to your next try! My last cycle was over 80 days. AF showed up 2 days before my RE appt that I had to wait weeks for. It was perfect timing bc I was able to do bloodwork and not have to trigger my cycle, wait for AF, and then go back for bloodwork. So think of it as a positive!! :)
