NEWCOMERS:
To be added to the Weekly Checkin, please answer the following:
1. How long have you been TTC?
2. What is your diagnosis?
3. What is your current treatment plan?
Question of the Week: What was your favorite subject in school?
Re: TTTC Checkin 10/19/2015
Edit: I forgot QOTW every time! My favorite subject was biology.
We have our ivf consult Nov 2 and are still counting down the days. We know what we want, but I am so scared of them saying no (either bc of medical or financial reasons). We are taking our pnv, eating a lot better, and I have been putting money in savings and paying off the cc like crazy!!
We did attend a baby shower yesterday. I did so much better than I thought I would. I mean, I did need a little pick me up so we went and bought a baby toy at Target afterwards, but at least I didn't cry or say something hateful at the shower!
O:-)
Ok, back to counting down the days until Nov 2!!
QOTW: My fav subject was Biology. Total science nerd here. Must be why I decided to go back to school to get my teaching degree to teach Middle School Science
RE DX for me: Anovulatory cycles/Mild PCOS RE DX for DW: Endometrioma on left Ovary.
Reciprocal Ivf Feb 2016. DW eggs and I am carrying. EDD: 10/27/16
QOTW: another science lover here - I work as a molecular biologist
Edited: because typing on a phone is hard lol

So I will be continuing my metformin for my PCOS, but this will be my last cycle on letrozole and trigger at least until Dec/Jan when I close my daycare. Then I start looking for a teaching job!
Question of the week....
My favorite subject in high school was art, I used to skip other classes to go work on my art. College was definitely science though, biology! I do want to eventually change my special ed teaching certificate to go teach science in middle or high school.
Question of the week....
My favorite subject in hs was probably Journalism. I was the Editor of the school newspaper and thought it was so exciting! I loved being the boss and organizing the way the newspaper would look every time it went out. There was something so satisfying about taking that red pen to other people's articles and refining them to make them better! Weird I know;) I guess I was one of a kind...
TI for 4 cycles: 1 round of femara; 2 rounds femara/ injectables: all ended in BFN.

I am currently on CD9 and feeling a little defeated this cycle. I had the talk with my RE about moving forward with IVF or doing lap surgery to check for Endo. I am going in for exam on the 26th to prep for lap. I am on my 4th day of BC to get prepared for either direction I go. This will be just another step in this ugly process of TTC.
QOTW: probably English
TTC- since we got married (off and on)
TTC with focus: Since July 2015
December 2015: Starting 1st IVF cycle
January 2016: Retrieval
March 2016: Pending Transfer (I have 3 PGS tested embryos waiting for a womb)
April 2016: BFP, the old fashioned way.
Happy Monday ladies. I hope everyone had a good weekend--even though I know things are tough for a lot of us. I just keep thinking this will make me a stronger person.
I was supposed to start Gonal-F this cycle rather than Bravelle because of the Bravelle recall. On Thursday, the pharmacy called and said that four pens would cost over $1,000. The four pens were only a 6 day supply because my RE was starting me at a higher dosage--so I knew that I would likely need another four pens. My DH and I talked long and hard about it and decided to not do it. We just couldn't justify paying over $2K for an IUI cycle--especially when four have already failed.
So, we decided to do another round of Letrozole--which only cost $3! Yes, three dollars. I did one cycle of Letrozole in August and produced one nice looking follicle. The way things are lining up for me, it looks like I will likely ovulate Halloween weekend and my DH and I already have a trip planned to see family. I am not going to change it. We plan to get a hotel room and have a lot of sex. haha. Hoping to swing this cycle the old fashioned way
@babyexpress I've been wondering about whether I should get a lap done to check for endo before moving to IVF. Did your doctor say why she recommends it before IVF? Could endo hurt the chances of success with IVF? I was thinking/hoping IVF would bypass any endo problems. I'm really interested in knowing how/why you decided to do lap before IVF as I've met my insurance deductible for the year and would want to squeeze it in by the end of the year, if needed. Any insight you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Qotw: I'm still dealing with classes (last semester of nursing school). Right now my favorite subject is graduating! I did pass my high stakes exam last week so I will graduate in December! Going back to college in the 30's is not fun at all because it's apparent when a course is simply to waste money.
Past Treatment: Clomid + Metformin x 3 BFN
Letrozole 5 mg + Trigger shot + IUI = BFP!
Beta confirmed 8/22
EDD 5/1/17
QOTW: French and English. I liked many subjects, but those were the most fun.

My Novarel injection (1 qty) was not covered by insurance and could potentially run $250-$400 depending on the pharmacy. I used this app and got it for $101 each month at CVS.
I'm an insurance broker and recommend this to all my clients in the event a prescription isn't covered.
Good luck this month!
I'm on cycle day 11 and because I was away when my cycle started my OPK monitor won't take tests this month and I'm just going to wing it and hope for a random BFP. I saw my dr today and she gave me a Rx for Clomid to start during my next cycle so I am really optimistic right now. It's been so long since I felt this way I want it to last!
QOTW: everything history!
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
2. What is your diagnosis? DOR and I am a poor responder
3. What is your current treatment plan? Have had 3 full cycles of IVF all resulted in BFN, 1 natural IVF cycle, and transferred 2 frosties on 10/16. This cycle I am on progesterone, estrogen, predinsone and fraxiparine and hoping all those drugs do the trick! In addition we did embryo hatching and embryo glue. I am going to test on 10/24 as for me that'll be day 26 and I am usually a 25 day cycle.
