The movers are coming tomorrow morning at 9:00. We have: a) most of our belongings, which are going into storage then shipping over to England once we find a home there, in the March-June period (tbd, whenever the visas finally come through); b) everything that plugs into the wall - which we cannot take, so giving it all to family or leaving on the curb, and c) things going back to the Midwest with us for the next few months, then going on the airplane with us back to Europe in January.
My head is swimming! Fortunately we have all of Wednesday to deal with B and C.
DH is going to deal with the movers while I take LO to Grandma's, to avoid the mayhem. He's wonderful. He's my favorite person on the planet. He's a man. I have a strong feeling there will be a mix up between category A, with B or C...

Ugh, we do the pick up everything and move it all across the country every 3 to 4 years, so I know what kind of mayhem this is going to be, and you've even got a little more mayhem with the fact that some is going into storage, some is going with you right now, and some is being left behind. And then it all goes overseas!
My hat's off to you, lady, and especially your DH at this time.
Sometimes I don't know what to say. I don't want to make people feel stupid, especially when we could be mom friends.
I want to laugh so badly, but I'm holding a sleeping LO. I don't know how you don't either laugh or keep a look off your face. My face is an open book so I'd be in trouble!
I actually opened 2 threads and commented using the app and it hasn't crashed yet!

I read this to my husband, and he says "do you really WANT to be mom friends with somebody that stupid?" And I'm thinking 'any port in a storm' until I remember I actually know a gal whose baby is 3 weeks older than mine, and I avoid her like the plague because, just, no. So... Maybe not any port in a storm.
@423ang this is probably terrible, but if I were you and someone asked me that again I would tell them that they were both actually boys but I wanted one of each so I just dressed one as a boy and one as a girl.
@MaliKaela he didn't elaborate when I asked him. I kind of wonder if it's because of some insecurity about her being different and drawing attention to it. I just feel like at this point we have to use some humor about everything.
Mamas with the Mirena, do any of you find that you spot when you nurse? It's the only time i ever spot and I'm wondering if anyone else experienced this.
@teather5 were you the one who won a prize from the breastfeeding thread in August? If you were did you get your prize?? I won also one week and sent in that paper but haven't heard anything else.. I sent 2 emails asking when I would get he prize but no response.
@rklinge0 I think the shirt is hilarious but humor aside I think its a great statement to make that you are okay with people acknowledging and celebrating differences. I don't think its offensive at all.
I'm convinced pregnancy makes you insane. Because even STMs are snarky. I was creeping too and I was like *sigh* can't believe it's been over a year since my BFP...
TTC: 1/2014
BFP: 9/24
EDD: 6/8/2015
Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
I didn't even know I was pregnant yet. Not until 10/22 ish. I've considered dropping in on June 16 to drop them a 'wish ya well' but haven't. I've been having a good time on the names board (LouCasey...psshhh).
In other news, holy leap 4, ladies!
@mvargas12 Big Fat Positive (on your pregnancy test)
I got my first baby nail to the eye today. Google has me going to the eye doctor so I don't go blind but I think I may just put some BM on it and see what happens. Ain't nobody got time for more appts ... Yes I know the eye is important
@mellymar I didn't know I was pregnant yet either. Twice in October last year, I drank a small amount of cognac to settle my stomach X_X (it worked...)
I took lo to the dr today because she is congested and I just wanted her checked out. I mentioned about her taking crappy short naps and she said to put her on her tummy since I would be up and could watch. Just wanted to mention since I know some of your lo's sleep on their tummies. I guess some Drs understand we will do anything for sleep! Ha. Maybe I'll try it but she isn't the biggest fan on tummy time so not sure if she would go for it.

I got you beat. This time last year I was probably drinking a 6 pack of craft beer a day (or more? Depends on when I woke up each day). I was working on a serious drinking issue before I saw the BFP. (I was grieving. Not an excuse, but that's what it was)
I can't find a set of nail clippers. I had them yesterday, now I can't find them. While I know its not IMPOSSIBLE... I consider it highly IMPROBABLE that LO ate them. I don't keep them near his grab-ability, they're pretty big and he'd more likely choke than be able to swallow without my noticing, and he is still barely able to grab a toy I specifically put in his hand when we are practicing, let alone pick something up of his own volition. All the same, I wish I could find those damned nail clippers
This one. Tho its not too much drama, mostly just entertaining for the eyeroll at OP. The comments are fun to read, too. Too bad OP never came back to defend her boots

I was a daily drinker, too. But mostly because I was an idiot asshole, can't even blame grief. Part of the reason I took a pregnancy test was because I could no longer drink so much. My body just didn't want to, which was SO weird. (The final straw was when we went to a Beer and Spirits festival, and I stayed rather sober because I just didn't feel well.) But DH and I did a beer tour in Bamberg, Germany (home of smoked beer, which tastes like smoked ham - gross!) the second week of October. 6 large beer steins in one afternoon. Oof.
The one good thing about my grandfather dying is that it prevented me from going to Oktoberfest unknowingly pregnant.
We got doctor's confirmation of pregnancy when I was 10 weeks along, a few weeks after Grandpa's funeral. I thought all my pregnancy symptoms were grief and jet lag.
Babies in our family always seem to happen after deaths. I'm sure our LOs aren't the only ones with a boozy start. My uncle who recently passed away - his son's wife is unexpectedly pregnant! She's like 39, and they definitely weren't planning this one.
I wasn't a daily drinker, but when I drank, I always had probably one too many. Alcoholism runs in both my and DHs immediate families so we are both very sensitive to it. I was incredibly worried that I would crave beer if I got pregnant and somehow confirm my worst fear of a drinking problem. I was very, very relieved at how easy it was for me. I didn't even want alcohol for those 9 months - and barely want any now. It's weird to feel relieved by this, but I am.
@virginiaunicorn11@mellymar I'm with you. I didn't put 2 and 2 together right away, so I was 8 weeks before I knew. Two days prior, I had 3 Lagunitas Undercover Shut Down, which are 9.99% alcohol. I can't even guess how much/often I drank before finding out. Oh well, all seems fine.
I took a pregnancy test the Friday before a wedding, and it was negative. I figured I was just late. Drank a TON at the wedding. Then got a positive on Monday. X_X
@mellymar LO did not eat the nail clippers. For future reference you don't have to worry too much about what they eat, you always seem to catch that in progress. The real issue is what they put up their nose . . .
I did crave beer while pregnant and continued to crave it this summer. I took September off drinking even though I was only have one day. I was just thinking about it a lot. I finally stopped craving it and will probably drink again soon. But with my family history I need to be very careful.
We went out for my sisters birthday the night I found out I was pregnant. Had 3 dirty martinis. I found out after the martinis. I was saying how I was having crazy dreams. She bought me a test and made me take it. I was only around 4 weeks pregnant at the time.
My only 'symptom' was I was very tired. Very tired. Which I attributed to everything that had gone on and my mental state right then. I still cried a lot and you know how crying makes you tired.
On the names threads, only thing that sucks is that you have to open every single one to find the good stuff. Its not obviously labeled like "anal is darker and scratches on butt". Would that they were, tho. Would that they were
@Sammy K lagunitas rules. Big fan of the Lil Sumpin' Extra. So good
@henrytviii omg, up the nose. You've just made me aware of a pitfall that will haunt me now well into my future. Not for the nail clippers, obviously, but now I'm going to be eyeing every single item askance and wondering if LO could fit it up his nose

@rklinge0 LOVE the shirt!!!!
Her: oh, it's so cool that you have boy/girl twins. That's really rare, right?
Me: I don't think so, I think it's pretty much 50/50. But yes, I think it's cool.
Her: are they identical?
Me: no
Her: cuz that's REALLY rare, right? Boy/girl identical twins?
Me: yeah, that's pretty much impossible.
