Estimated Due Date (EDD): June 4th, but I'm a repeat CS so it will be in May
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? 2nd, my son just turned 2
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? 2 months
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I tested in the morning after he had left for work, and then I actually had to work late that night so I had to wait all day! Luckily our son was still awake when I got home so I put on a "big bro" t shirt and waited for my husband to notice, I had to prompt him a little of course
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm super nervous about having a second CS because my 1st wasn't ideal (but not willing to go for VBAC), words of wisdom welcome! I have a new doctor and will deliver at a different hospital, so I'm hoping for a great experience!
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? Yep! Ftm
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? 2 years. We've experienced two losses this year so we are praying this sticks.
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? It has been a crazy few months. We went to an infertility doctor following our second miscarriage in August and discovered I have a septate uterus. I scheduled a surgery to have it fixed for sometime in November and also was urged to have my appendix removed since I am at risk for cancer there (dad had appendiceal cancer). I had to have an ultrasound to see if I had both kidneys due to my uterine abnormality (apparently with uterine abnormalities it is common to have one!)....I have both but they found a mass on my left one. Ct scan was scheduled so of course I took a preggo test just in case....and tada! I sent husband a text with the news because I had a mild panic attack... we are very nervous but so happy! What a whirlwind of a month.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: My husband and I have been married for five years and we have a rescued border collie. We love cooking dinner together, camping, and (currently) binge watching downton abbey. We are anxious to have a little one in our lives. Good vibes and lots of love going out to all of you expecting mamas!
eDD: June 10
Not a first time mama....baby 2
6 months
I asked him to look at the test be it is so faint I wasn't sure/couldn't believe my eyes. We just had a early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy 2 months ago so I am very nervous!
I am an animal lover and I also adore anything Disney.
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? Second pregnancy, hopefully first take home baby! Had a MMC in June, very happy to be KU before my previous EDD! Somehow that makes me feel better.
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? Started in March, got KU right away, MMC in June, trying again since then!
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I had just gotten home from the gym and taken a shower. He was complaining because I was taking so long and he was hungry and wanted to eat dinner. I told him, "it took me longer because I was peeing on this" and showed him the positive test, lol. He was pretty surprised!
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I am cautiously optimistic about this pregnancy. It doesn't really seem real and as terrible as it sounds, I am trying to keep it cool until my first US. I definitely got carried away with planning last time and was devastated when I experienced the loss. Hoping to be active and stick around this board! I'm Canadian, have a black lab that we rescued after we got married 6 years ago, and am SO HAPPY that there are lots of TTGP ladies on here. I love me some snark.
@kattyleigh You have no idea how good and reassured that makes me feel. While I am so excited about this baby, I have also been having some serious anxiety about how on earth I'm going to manage having the two so close together. DS still doesn't even sleep through the night regularly lol. It feels so good to hear from other moms who have done it, especially when most people's reaction is just, "Wow, you're crazy" Thanks again :-)
Congratulations and welcome June 2016 moms!! How awesome is it to be here?!?!?!
In attempt not to flood the board with tons of intro posts, figured we'd follow the lead of the May ladies and start an intro thread. Post your intro here and tell us about yourself:
Estimated Due Date (EDD): June 11
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? Nope, this will be my second!
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? 2 months
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? Chucked my pee stick at him whilst screaming, "LOOK AT THIS!"
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm snarky as balls
Nice to meet you all! A little bit of backroad from me...we have been trying to get pregnant since January this year, I have had 2 x miss carriages which has been really hard but just got the positive test yesterday so hoping all is ok this time!!!
Estimated Due Date (EDD): Supposedly 6/1, but I think that will change to late May.
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? This will be # 3.
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? 2 months
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I just showed him the test. Nothing exciting
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm a pediatric nurse, and I have two daughters. Also, we got a puppy 1 day before finding out I was pregnant.
Estimated Due Date (EDD): June 2, though I'll likely have a scheduled C-section in late May.
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? This is our second. DS is 4.
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? We weren't trying. We aren't very good at the whole prevention thing.
How did you tell your significant other (SO)? I showed him the test. Nothing super exciting for us.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself? I can't stop peeing on sticks. I had a chemical pregnancy several months back and I can't shake the fear that my BFP will turn into a BFN. I also tend to be more of a lurker than active participant but hope to be a little more engaged this time around.
Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a couple days and I'm nervous and keep going back and forth about whether to post here, but here I go!
Estimated Due Date (EDD): 6/7/16 by estimated O-date, 6/10/16 by LMP
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? #1!!!
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? 5 cycles, but honestly I didn't expect it so soon!
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I told him at 6am over our morning cup of coffee immediately following my first positive HPT. It was very anti-climactic. I tested because I was scheduled for dental X-rays and I wanted to be safe. I was 13dpo. I didn't expect a positive! I'm still so nervous about this and I clearly showed a lot of hesitation when I first told him because last night I was talking to him and I mentioned being pregnant and he said "oh, really?!? So you're sure?" and he started to get all giddy.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm an avid hiker, backpacker, runner, and home chef. We have two furry tabby cats. We're older (me 38, my H 40) and I don't really know anyone who is having babies at my age, which is what prompted me to join TB. This is still sinking in and I have my guard up. I'm still temping and peeing on sticks even though FF has been telling me to stop. I'm also happy to see some familiar names from TTGP, though I'd REALLY like to recruit another member from the TTC after 35 board!
Me: 40 DH: 43 Married 5/30/15 TTC #1 June 2015 BFP #1 9/28/15, EDD 6/10/16. DS born 5/23/16! TTC #2 May 2017 BFP #2 m/c 11/18/17 5w5d BFP #3 12/17/17 EDD 8/25/18. It's a boy!
@redheadbride15 it always seems to take men longer or something extra for it to sink in with them - but it's so amazing when they get excited and giddy too!
Estimated Due Date (EDD): June 4th, based on FET calculator
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? Yes! This is #1 and I'm ecstatic.
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? 1.5 years - 1 year naturally, then IVF, then 1st FET. All y'all 'this was our first month trying' people? I'd say I'm green with envy of you, but we're all here now, aren't we
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? Got up early to test the day before my beta blood draw, hubby woke up about 30 minutes later which was odd for him. I'm all "Oh good you're up! I made coffee for you, but it looks like I'll be sticking to decaf!" and handed him the digital test. He just said "Cool. I'm not up. I just needed my inhaler." He was a lot more excited a few hours later though...
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: My journey (so far) was ectopic pregnancy > TTC for a year > hydrosalpinx & stage 4 endometriosis > IVF (overstimulated and got 19 eggs at retrieval, 16 for freeze all > FET > BFP! (15 more frozen betas to choose from if we decide we want more)
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? Yes! This will be our first.
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? Four months
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? At 9dpo I took a test and honestly had no clue that it could be a faint line and still considered positive. I came out of the bathroom and showed my sister in law and then texted my husband a picture...both in which didn't think it was necessarily positive. But, sure enough..as the days went by I took more and more tests (about 15 actually lol) and it just kept getting darker! I wish I would have thought to do something more creative when telling my husband....but he was just as excited all the same
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: Hmm... I'm 26 years old and a Surgical Intensive Care Registered Nurse. My husband is 24 and is also a nurse but works for The Department of Veterans Affairs. We got married in March and are overjoyed at the news of us expecting! So happy to join you all!!!
Well, there hasn't been anything preventing it in about two years and I was starting to push my doctor for a fertility clinic referral. Then I got pregnant about 2 months ago and lost it very early. I was a little surprised it happened again so soon after having nothing for so long.
How did your tell your significant other (SO)?
Crawled back into bed after taking a test, curled up beside him and said "Round 2".
Estimated Due Date (EDD): June 4! Although when I met with my high risk doc prior to conceiving he said he wouldn't let me go past 39 weeks so May 28th at the latest it's looking like.
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? Our first!
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? 9 months. It felt like a long time with everyone around me pregnant on their first try.
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? Was laying in bed with a baby outfit that said cool guy like Daddy on my belly.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I run an in home licenced childcare and preschool with six little ones here daily. I am a high risk pregnancy with multiple health issues. I'll see my high risk specialist on Friday and can't wait to check on everything!
Are you a first time mom? Yes! My husband and I are super excited!
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? 2 months
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I decided to take a test, came out negative at first. Then I returned to the bathroom and it was positive! I just walked up to him and showed it to him. He didn't even know what it meant! Haha! I wanted to do something cute, but I was in such shock I didn't know what to do!
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: We've been married 6 years and we have 3 awesome dogs! I'm a teacher, so I'm happy that Baby comes in June!
Hi Mommas! Disclaimer: loss mentioned. Estimated Due Date (EDD): June 12th
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? This is our fourth pregnancy. We have one boy who's two and a half years. We were pregnant before him and miscarried at about 5-6 weeks. Then I'll get into our other loss in a minute.
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? We're actually quite blessed in this regard. It took us about 3 months.
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I called him at work. He knew I was going to take a test yesterday morning, and I did then called him, after crying for joy and praying.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: Okay, last June, actually on this baby's due date but 2015, not 2016, we lost our baby boy who was 20 weeks gestation and would have been born this October. I can't tell you how happy I am to be pregnant before his due date got here. It would have been THAT much harder to bear without another one on the way. But I've been afraid that I would get pregnant and view this new baby the way I view other new babies, as beautiful and wonderful little reminders of my tragic loss. (I'm not usually a jealous person, and I'm happy for all new life! But sometimes it's hard.) But I'm happy to report it's not like that. And to have the due date coincide with the day of our stillbirth is a strange kind of miracle and celebration of the life we lost.
So here we are. Wish us luck! Looking forward to getting to know all of you!
I am a first time mom. We have been TTC for just over a year and are thrilled that it finally happened!
I told my partner via FaceTime just by showing him the positive test and excitedly yelling that I'm pregnant! He works out of town for 28 days at a time, so sadly he wasn't at home when I found.
It feels so very surreal to me that we are finally having a baby
@babyroper16 What does your husband do? Mine is a pilot, got 4 days a week right now. And it gets very lonely. Makes me terrified to have 2, because I will already be outnumbered.
Hi ladies! I'm new. Well actually I wanted to post several days ago but had to wait for permission as a new member.
Estimated Due Date (EDD): Supposedly 6/3, but I think it may be a little later based on when I think I ovulated.
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? First time!
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? Almost a year now
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I tested and saw a squinter but we were getting ready for work and rushed. I'm pretty certain I saw something though and took a picture. When I had down time at work I looked at the picture magnified and definitely saw something so I went out and found the cutest little mini-whisks and mini-colinders with a card. When H got home I tested again, saw a darker line and gave H the gift (he was clueless) and the card which said "We will be cooking for one more soon". His face was just priceless and he was so happy.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm turning 34 next month, H is 39, and this will be our first baby. We have a wonderful dog who is 5 1/2.
ETA - Pregnancy brain strikes again? I think my "due date" is June 3 not June 7.
Hi ladies!! I'm very excited to be here, still wary, still in shock, still unsure of that dang faint line on the FRER!
Estimated due date: 6/13, tho likely a scheduled CS.
Are you a first time mom: nope, this is my 2nd, I have a 15mo DS and I'm pretty terrified of the small age difference, but I see a lot of other mamas with smaller age gaps, so I can learn from them.
How did you tell ur SO: we just facetimed, he's over the moon, he's away for work, and usually we can't talk, so I'm pumped!
A little about me: I can be kind of a wise-ass! I'm 38, hubs is 31 (total cougar
Second time mom - have a 3 month old right now. Looking at Irish twins.
TTC - weren't exactly trying, but also were not not trying. We knew the possibilities and we started when we were in the clear from my ob.
Sent DH a picture of DS holding a sign saying "I'm going to be a big brother"
Anything else: I ovulated super late with DS. Original EDD was June 6 and they pushed it back to June 16 and I ended up being induced and delivering via c-section June 22. So I can't wait for the doctor appointment to see if this LO will be following in his big brother's footsteps! I'm June 5 so wondering if this time I'll get a birthday buddy'
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? First time!
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? Since Feb of this year
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? Told him when he came home from work, showed him the test and was like this is why I've felt so awful the past week.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: my 32 bday is on Sunday, so it's a little early bday excitement for me!
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? Second time momma
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? Got off nuvaring in July
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I told DH I thought I was seeing a faint line so he looked at the test and agreed with me. Took another test this morning and it was a much darker line. When DH woke up he came in the bathroom and said "oh yeah we're definitely pregnant!"
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm really looking forward to being pregnant again. I'm one of those who actually like it!
@redheadbride15 I am 38 and I am a member of the TTC after 35.....just have not been on TB for a while until we received the PPT! I am nervous and it is still sinking in as well. But very excited too!
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? This will be our second. We have a 9 month old daughter.
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? This was the first cycle since quitting birth control. Not really trying (was going to get back into FF and temping in a couple months) but welcoming the possibility of a pregnancy. We are pleasantly surprised.
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? He knew I was taking the test since I had been feeling weird. I just handed it to him and gave him a hug.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: DH and I are both engineers and huge nerds. We adore our black lab mix, Raptor. I am freaking out a little over having 2u2, but I'm excited that they'll be so close too.
Me: 28, DH: 31 Married since 3/10/12 DD Born 12/15/14 DS Born 5/31/16
Are you a first time mom? If not, what number? Nope, DS is almost 11 months. I was on N14 board last year.
How long were you trying to conceive (TTC)? About 6 cycles, DH has to take a medication for us to get pregnant & we knew it could be quick or take a year or so. We are really happy with 6 months.
How did your tell your significant other (SO)? I took a FRER at 7am & the line was really faint (This was at 3+2) so I decided to try again with a digital. It came up positive...It was so hard to wait for DH to wake up, but I showed him the test & there were tears and lots of hugging DS and each other.
Anything else you want to tell us about yourself: I'm kind of nervous about 2 under 2, but really excited! It's going to be a really fun ride with you ladies!!
