  • @423ang I grew up near the Northeast border
  • @ChardeeMacDennis so funny. I lived in Lincoln from age 17 to age 24.
Went to nursing school at Bryan. :)
Go back to visit my grandparents there all the time.
  • Cool! I had 3 babies at Bryan!

Why am I surprised I'm the only one in No Cali .. I just assumed all lived close when I started posting early pregnancy .. Or maybe I just hoped haha

    I'm in central CA!
  • !

anyone have experience with the snugly brand carrier?
found someone on facebook selling one for $25 so i figured hey may as well.

the cool thing is that theyre going to be really close by so i wont have to walk super far to meet up with them.

My mom mentions the "snugly" almost daily. I didn't know they still existed! She apparently loved it with me in the 80s!

  • Am I the only one in canada? Lol
  • Well ladies, just returned from hearing my test results from my abnormal pap. Not cancer! <:-P However, I'm 1 stage away from cervical cancer so we're doing a LEEP at the end of the month to remove all of the abnormal cells. Sounds painful, but it's better than the alternative! </p>

Yay! Hope they give you some good pain meds during/after the procedure if it sounds bad. But very glad you're cancer free!
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • ^^ I was told they will use a local anesthetic to numb me during the procedure. I'm hoping for something for after!
  • I also had a LEEP but I was given general anesthesia. The recovery was not bad at all just some cramping later that day. I feel like I was basically fine by the following day.
  • If there are business minded ladies on here, someone should totally create a momdate.com (the Match.com for mom friends). You could make millions, I bet, because advertisers would kill for that audience, no?

    I would totally sign up.
  • There is an app called SmileMom and it actually had quite a few moms in my area but I deleted it because it didn't seem like there was a way to get to know each other first.
  • I downloaded SmileMom and the women in my area had kids my daughter's age... Three years ago. Seemed outdated to me
  • @virginiaunicorn11 if well designed it could make so much money. I bet the ever-banning bump gods are reading and taking note. You could search for moms based on child age or interests or both.

Mine would read: nurse with a questionable social filter, 3 month old, enjoys dry wine, dry humor and trashy reality TV. Come hang out and do nothing fitness related or outdoorsy with me and my grumpy child. Love of Judge Judy a plus.

You and I would be a match made in heaven.

I'd be right with both of you!
  • @dancegurl1118 I think I'll be in your hood I tomorrow (New Haven county I presume?) I'm working up the courage to take my first drive to my family's with LO!

And um, maybe have my estranged father meet LO. I feel terrible that hasn't happened yet.
  • @hoodoll82 wishing you a drive with a quiet LO and..enjoying new hay hay in all its glory :-h

  • so.. that snugli baby carrier i bought? its a dangler, holds them at the crotch with no support for their butt or things.
now i need to find a scarf or something so i dont give my kid hip dysplasia X_X untill i get a better carrier that is. but hey, at least i have an idea of what to bring up for my birthday/christmas.
  • Hi just wondering has anybody else's almost 3 month old slept for most of the day and night? My LO usually sleeps from 1-6 am and then 7-9 am with some naps through the day (usually short ones and maybe one long) but today he's taken a whole bunch of long naps and now he's sleeping through the night as well! Is this okay? He was a little fussy yesterday drooling and crying and sucking on his thumb which he's been doing a lot recently. But today he barely cried at all and when he would wake he would nurse for a little or suck on his thumb and instantly fall back asleep. Is this sleepiness okay? Or should I be worried?

We have one! Got it for $10 from a second hand store and it's actually really nice! Super comfy and easier to use then another carrier I have

I had a leep done. They use a numbing agent so you won't be able to feel a whole lot. Good luck!

Mine did this one day (on two occasions) and I was also worried, but I told my mother. She said she once called HER mother about this, crying that her baby was sick... And her mother laughed and said that's what babies do, he was probably growing, and everything's fine.

I think my LO was even a little sleepy the next day, but not AS sleepy. Probably just growing!
  • @MamaSky yeah, mine did that at the end of his growth spurt. Freaked me out as he wasn't eating well either

im asking for a tula as well! i love the new sea glass design they put out recently.

  • @janit368 @virginiaunicorn11 thanks gals. I asked my mama about it too because I was worried but today he has been a little less sleepy and when he is awake he eats and has been able to do tummy time and babble so I'm guessing if something was wrong then there would be some other symptoms. He does have a weird rash thing on his forehead but the doctor didn't seem to think anything of it. I think he might be teething. He starts to drool and then cries out in pain and starts to suck on his thumb like crazy. So maybe it's wearing him out?
  • Anyone into that HUGE looking Events leap (Wonder Week) yet? Is it bad? It looks awfully long. And I already feel like LO is having quite a fuss going - 3 month growth spurt perhaps. She'll be 3 months on Tues.
  • @swaugh14 I am TERRIFIED of that leap. And it's right as I go back to work and LO starts daycare. Yippee?

My understanding is the whole "crotch dangler" thing is kind of a myth... Mostly started by more expensive carrier companies as a marketing ploy.

    https://www.pregnantchicken.com/pregnant-chicken-blog/2014/6/13/crotch-danglers-and-hip-dysplasia-is-it-all-just-crotch-rot

This article links to another one that looks at the issue even deeper. Basically incorrect swaddling is kind of the only really bad thing we could be doing that would cause hip dysplasia.

ETA: we have and love both the Bjorn and a Moby. The Moby is too friggin hot to use in this heat. Both LO and I are comfortable with the Bjorn
