Reflux moms - what times of day do you give your LO Zantac? I shoot for 9pm and 9am. I know it's supposed to be 12 hours apart, but that's been hard to get it as close to 12 as possible. Do you maybe try to get in within the hour? Am I being too precise?
It doesn't have to be exactly 12h apart. I would do the best you can without interrupting naps, etc.
We are either really adventurous or supremely crazy....we are camping for three night in the mountains. We have a camper so that is a huge factor, but so far so good. So far we have seen a momma moose and her calf, supposedly there are bears too, I'd be ok without seeing one of those.

FIL is obsessed with LO being a lefty. He, my BIL, my sister and my grandpa are all leftys...I don't think there's any weight in it this early but she only sucks her right hand.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
I'm ok if he's not, but I think it'd be cool. The only other person in our family is my dad's half sister. My younger cousin on my mom's side used both hands when he was starting to color and draw but my aunt and uncle forced him to only use his right hand. That annoyed me.
Forgive me if this sounds creepy (and I'm not really sure where to post this), but I really enjoy reading your posts. I find your perspective to be insightful, intelligent, and interesting. Many of the things you say cause me to think of things in a different way. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Aw, shucks. Thanks, lady! I'm so glad to be a valued contributer because I feel the same way about you and the other ladies here. You've made my night, thank you.
Note, however, DH bats right handed because his right handed father taught him... So the whole nature vs nurture thing is complex!
DH went to a pretty severe Christian school when he was little, they forced him to use his right hand. He still managed to come out writing lefty, but he bats usually right (he can do both), he throws right, plays guitar left, I think golfs left, bowls right (but can also do left), and shoots his service pistol left but the rifle and shotgun right. Or maybe its the other way around. Whatever. One gun is one way and the other is the other way. His shooting instructor told him they have a name for people like him. Leftarded
Has anyone actually read the book that goes with the leap app? It sounds like its about the changes going on with baby during certain times ('at 10 weeks this and this start happening'), which would make it something I would dig, but don't want to drop $ on it if that's not what it is. Can anybody confirm?

I have the book but have only read to the first leap. From what I've heard about the app, it's the same information but the book has first-person stories ad well. I'll be reading up on the next leap this week.
So far I haven't been overly impressed but LO was so uncomfortable all the time, there was no increase in fussiness for the first two leaps; she was always fussy.
Not sure where to put this so I'm putting it here...just had a biopsy on my cervix because my 6 week pp appointment can back abnormal. Now all I can think about is the high possibility of cervical cancer. Plus, it hurts to sit down since they cut 2 pieces of my cervix out. Ugh...feeling highly depressed and anxious. I hate waiting for test results. Trying to stay positive! Keeping my fingers crossed!
I had one done Friday. They told me even if something came back abnormal that it's still simple procedures to remove the bad cells. They had to take the first layer of my cervix during the biopsy, Ouch!! They act like it's so easy and it's nothing to worry about. Umm you just told me I'm high risk for cancer!?!?
Are you still cramping and bleeding? I've been blessing heavily since Friday and they said it's normal. It doesn't feel normal.
Here are some screen shots. (I've cropped out baby's name because apparently we went yoonik and Google has zero hits on my boy's name. Sigh.) there is more detail on the first page but they pepper baby's name throughout it so I can't find an easy way to redact it. I'm such a spaz, sorry...
@mellymar Would you be able to get it through a library first so you don't have to commit yet? I'm gonna take my own advice and hit the library today, come to think of it...!
ETA: that first unexplained bulleted list is a list of new abilities that this Leap either enables or prepares baby for. It's the page with the long explanation I cropped. This is Leap 3, which is said to start between 11.5-12.5 weeks
@devyns2nd I'm not bleeding or cramping today, I'm taking that as a good sign! Sorry you're still in pain, that sucks! She told me the right side had a lot of white "plaque like" cells so she pinched off 2 samples in different areas. The original test came back and said I had several stage 2 & 4 cells. My immune system can kick into overdrive now that it's trying to heal my cervix and that can cause the level 2 cells to return back to normal level 1 cells. My dr said bleeding is normal for a day or two, anything longer and I should call them. Hopefully you start feeling better!

What is the app? I know this question has been asked...I think I'm too tired to see the answer, even though it's probably staring me in the face!

I think it's wonder weeks I don't have the app myself but maybe I should get it as I'm starting to think also might be in a leap - he's nearly 12 weeks if you correct for due date, he's been a bit cranky the last few days and he's just woken me up for the second time tonight when he had been sleeping 6-7 hours straight.
ive been eating perogies or pasta between 6-9pm as dinner for the past like week and a half. my waistline is feeling it. unfortunately thats like all we have in the apartment for food, i cant take LO out shopping because of the smoke pollution in the air from fires in Washington (there was an actual statements thing that said keep infants and elderly inside) and DH and i are fighting (per usual) and he keeps leaving for several hours everyday to go get high with our roommate so i cant go by myself to buy groceries. the stupid part is that i can see the stupid store from my balcony. grrr.

All relationships are different and lord knows mine is far from perfect... But when pot interferes with basic needs, a line has been crossed. Maybe you can't deal with DH and this crap in the near-enough term, but can you order groceries online or have a friend do a pick up or stay with LO for you?
I won't lecture (more) about your husband's unacceptable behavior but I want to. I'm sorry, lady. Hope it gets better soon. You and baby need nutrition!
I'm exhausted, can't fall asleep because I'm thinking of a billion things. Lo has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now but these past 2 days she took 2 30/40 min naps all day.. And besides that wanted to eat more often therefore making my nipples hurt which I now attribute to her lip tie thanks to @dancegurl1118 and trying to plan our wedding, while also entertaining a 5 year old is exhausting. Then on top of this she still won't take a bottle, were supposed to be going to a Wedding next Friday night and I don't know what to do with her! Was planning on fiancés mom to babysit the both of them but I don't think I can leave her if she won't eat! But if I ask my friend if I could bring her then I'll screw up her bedtime routine. Ugh! Sorry I needed to vent. I've been in the house the past 2 days with 2 kids spending most of the day feeding and trying to get lo to sleep and I'm tired of it. Oh and trying to figure out if I should pay $875 for the lip tie to be lasered off or try to find someone that takes her insurance with cutting it X_X
They are amazing! We have the puppy ones too. Your LO is ridiculously cute. I always die over the pictures you post. You must be very in love! @HayesRN13
I'm watching the third season of Call the Midwife. Just watched the episode where they decide fear is what causes pain in childbirth. Makes my blood boil. It's like I look back on my innocent "fearless" pregnant self and feel so sorry for that naive lady.
But I love this series! Makes me so. freaking. glad. for modern medicine.
Some idiot salesman just rang our doorbell then pounded on the door! Helllooo - sleeping baby here!
[-X
And even if no sleeping baby, who thinks pounding on a door is ingratiating?! That's like nails on a chalkboard for me. Ugh. Dude is gonna have a rough go of it, sounds like.
I tried on my favorite pair of pre-pregnancy jeans today and they fit!!!!! Words can't express how happy I am. There was a time about 2 weeks pp when I was having a really hard time dealing with a body I didn't recognize and I genuinely thought this day would never come. Yes, size doesn't matter and my body's amazing just for having birthed a baby, but thank you Jesus, my pre-pregnancy jeans fit!!!
@kes166 Congrats lady! That's awesome. I haven't even tried...
Thank you!! I was pretty sure they wouldn't fit and then was very pleasantly surprised most of my shorts still don't fit quite right though. It's funny how pregnancy has effected everything, how some stuff has gone back to normal and some hasn't... like, for example, my belly button is brown now! So weird!
Re: Randoms!
Something my DH would do too... Need a left-handed pitcher dontcha know?
Edited bc my post from several days ago was also included?
