  • Okay. First time mom here, trying to not be super unprepared for this baby. My sister in law gave me a maya wrap, and despite all the tutorials in the world, I can't seem to put this thing on in a way that I would trust a newborn in there. How do you feel about maya wraps, and how do you tie these things??
I love wrapping/wearing baby.  I'm definitely going to try it more with #3.  That being said it does take a lot to get used to - and I would do it right from the beginning so you and baby get used to it.  An 8lb baby is way different than a 1lb doll but a doll is still great to practice with.

  • I don't know where to put this...but I just got a call on my carrier screening and found out I'm a carrier for cystic fibrosis. They called me last week and said all was negative and called today to say just kidding I'm a carrier.

I know it's not a done deal that the baby is sick, since we have to get my H tested still but if you ladies have T&P's to spare I'd really appreciate it.

T&P to you. It must be so hard but try not to let yourself get too overwhelmed at least until your H has his results back. Thinking of you!

Random question and it is a genuine one: How is it perceived here by people who have been around for a while when people board hop a lot? I don't mean between this and 1st tri, or even lurking in a BMB a month or two away from ours. I mean, hypothetically, someone from, say Nov 2015, getting involved in a discussion here. I really don't know if this a totally cool, awesome done thing or if people think it's weird.

    Edited: punctuation.
I don't care for it either since it seems like all they want to do is cause drama.

@Hullabaloo2016 and @yodapup I'm kind of sad we're back up to hot again today.  The last few days have been glorious!

I'm debating if I should turn on the a/c today. It's been nice having it off for the past 3 days.

I'm also a carrier. I found out while trying to become an egg donor prior to getting married, so when we were ttc, DH got tested. Thankfully, he's not. I hope your DH isn't either. Sending you good vibes.

  • @starbuck77 many positive thoughts your way!
  • Anyone using wii fit during pregnancy? Thinking it may be a good option since I'm small and my heart rate goes up pretty quick. Any suggestions?
  • Glad all is well @reesaXden H&H 9 months to you!
  • @reesaXden - I have one of those, too. I haven't had any bleeding, but they can see it in my u/s so they told me to keep it easy until I come back again. I think they are pretty common, but still just one more thing to scare us! GL on the April board! :)

  • I'm seriously thinking about eating a second bagel... Maybe I'll wait for the first to settle.
  • We have our second appointment today and I think I am just as anxious as my first. Not sure why... Maybe because my first was a little on the early side 7.6 weeks. I am 12.2 today. 2 pm cannot get here fast enough!
  • Good luck @Stormiewinter.

So last night DH asked me if the amount of fatigue I was experiencing was normal, I said I suppose it is.  It was awfully cute how concerned he was.

I did both. Waited 2 hours until my MS came back then ate another. It's the best I've felt in days.

    @Stormiewinter hope it went well!

I flew back to the States today so I'm a little homesick and jet lagged but since I arrived my nose is blocked one minute and like a tap the next and I keep sneezing, it's so annoying and I haven't researched yet what it is ok for me to take!!

  • Spent most of the day in the hospital for dehydration. Hopefully, things get better real soon or doctor is going to have me admitted. But on the plus side, no more dizzy spells sense being treated.
  • Thank you @ecwk my appointment went well! Doctor said everything is measuring on schedule and we even got to hear the heartbeat with the dopplar, 150 Bpm! Such a relief. My OB is uber thorough so I had swabs and prodding of all kinds and they took about 9 viles of blood, but when it comes to pregnancy I think thorough is good! Only thing that sucks is that we don't have anywhere nearby that allows VBAC so I have no choice but to do a repeat c section. But I am way too excited about getting good news to worry too much. The goal is healthy mom and baby however it happens.

That's awesome, what great news! I have an appointment on Monday when I'll be 10+6 and I *HOPE* we can hear the HB though I know it might be too early....it would really put my mind at ease though!!

  • I was a bad girl and ate all the bad foods last night and now I can't stop sneezing, sniffling and going to the loo.... It was so good at the time

On the other hand I have a shit load of work to do to get the house in order for a baby shower tomorrow (not for me don't worry!).... Instead I am watching the Grand Prix qualifying that I don't actually really care about but it's better than dishes or dusting

Also I hate bumpingmobile... It sort of logs me off so I can't complete a post so I have to go back out and in and finish.... I 2ish bump gods would ever figure this out its been years and doesn't work on apple or android!

  • This is dh's last weekend off for 3.5 months, so we had a great bbq and are finishing off the evening with a backyard campfire and s'mores. Ds is so excited!
  • I sometimes giggle at things I read and hear from ftm's because it reminds me of the they-hit-the-nail-on-the-head Luv's commercials when they compare the 1st pregnancy to the 2nd and 3rd ones lol. I'm not making fun because every woman starts at one but it just tickles me so much sometimes lol!

  • Can I just say I am soo lost on everyone's abbreviations!

    LO?

DH- I assume this refers to husband or such

    DS- once again probably son

DD- daughter?---- What the hell is the first D for??

If there are any others that I missed let me know haha I am new on here and love to read all the posts but you should hear my thoughts on what they all stand for!

  • @Hullaballoo2016

don't be so sure that night shifts would be better. Like you already pointed out you miss out on one on one and sleeping time and also it's probably the hardest thing to do while pregnant... WITHOUT caffeine. I limit myself to two cups of tea per shift if needed and I barely make it to the 7th hour. I usually feel like crying before, during and after the shift.

  • It's almost 5 am and ds has been awake since 3. This is the 5th night in a row. Yesterday, he napped for the first time in weeks and we let him stay up late hoping to reset his sleep, but here I am again awake half the night. I cannot keep this up much longer especially once work starts in2 weeks! I have no idea what is going on with him usually this only happens when he has an ear infection but he has had no other symptoms. Worst part is every night this happens I get really starving and morning sick and need to then eat before I can crawl back into bed. Ugh! I am just so tired!

I can't really offer any advice but I hope your LO falls back into his usual pattern soon. I'm guessing you're going back to work as a teacher of some sort? The back to school struggle is real :(

@BrooksMommy33 I don't know how to link anything on my app but you will get used to the abbreviations quickly. Do a search on any of the boards and you will find a list of all of them.

    LO - little one

DH, DS, DD - dear husband, dear son, dear daughter.

We've had a lot of this the last three weeks. LO has cut three teeth in that time and has a fourth one that looks ready to break through as well. Hugs from another sleepless momma.
  • I just have to say I hate the term "special snowflake". I see it used as a degrading thing here a lot. I may be on my own in this opinion but oh well. I just had to get that off my chest. And then to see the way some people spell it. Smh. As a mother of a special needs child I think any type of name calling like this is completely inappropriate and it's sad these are grown women that talk like this. Yes, we can have arguments and disagreements, that's life, but can we do it without name calling?
