Okay so I know I'm only 10 weeks but I swear I keep feeling some type of movement inside of me. I know it isn't gas! It feels like a fish almost. It's hard to explain. Just wondering if anyone else felt it too?
You also have to ask yourself where are you feeling the movement. Any higher than the pelvic bone and it's definitely not baby. As a stm, I feel things that absolutely remind me of baby movement, but it's too high. Therefore, gas.

Ok so you have to be so careful on this board because people will swear you're crazy to feel movement this early. With that being said, yes it very well could be movement. I know for a fact I felt my second between 9-10 weeks (if you've been through it before, you just know the difference between movement and gas - and I confirmed with my midwife that it is possible - and he was a crazy ninja mover my entire pregnancy - still is 13 months out) - it was that tiny "poke" or "bump" feeling. I have felt the same starting last night at 9w1d. So you're not alone, crazy lady

I'm 9 weeks and I felt something really low, near the pelvic bone, that I also would describe as a fish! It was when I was laying in bed before getting up for the day. I thought it must be digestion-related but it's cool to think that maybe it was him/her doing somersaults.
Nothing yet, but I would probably still chalk of anything I felt as gas at this point. I remember having gas after I had DS that felt exactly like a baby moving. I think they call it phantom baby kicks? I still get them. It's so strange, feels exactly like when baby would roll from one side to the other.
I've never felt the "fish" feeling but early on it usually feels like popcorn popping. I swear I felt it last night in my lower pelvic area but thought that would be impossible at 10.5 weeks. Maybe I'm not so crazy...I chalked it up to gas.
With ds I didn't feel anything until 20 weeks. That being said the last few days I have had the tiniest of flutters when I was lying really still and it was quiet (just like when I first started feeling ds, but I had a hard time believing it). Not sure what to think, but it is reassuring to think its the baby moving so I figure why not. I am 11 weeks 3 days.
I have as well and I know my uterus sits higher so I felt it around 9 weeks. Sometimes a few min after eating. It felt like little scratching haha. I know it's baby, plus this is my 3rd so I know.
I too have been feeling movement and I'm 11.3 weeks. Been feeling it for a few days. This is my third baby. I don't agree with previous posters about it being gas. Gas typically isn't felt in your uterus/pelvic region.
I didn't feel anything but gas at 10 weeks. Felt baby move at 17 and a half weeks FTM. Sorry to disappoint, but it's just gas.

oh yeah? Where's the science showing how soon a mother can genuinely feel movement (as opposed to when the baby is moving but not necessarily detected by the mother)?
This is coming from someone who thought it was gas the entire time until my husband felt the movement himself and finally convinced me it was really the baby in my first pregnancy. Colour me clueless. That child moved constantly. Still does.
Oh dear another "because science " quoter with no actually scientific facts to prove or disprove anything. I think I found my new pet peive. But back on topic I think I may have felt something not sure though it could have just been my uterus expanding as I developed heartburn/ acid reflux today so something is squashing my tummy a bit more. Only time will tell.

The "Timeline of Baby Movement" section in this link: https://www.webmd.com/baby/fetal-movement-feeling-baby-kick?page=2 states that baby is so small that it is unlikely for the mother to feel any movement.
Baby is roughly 2.1 inches and only weighs about a half of an ounce (according to thebump.com) so that makes it very difficult to feel any movement.

Actually gas can be felt down there, after I had a d&c from a missed miscarriage I had horrible cramps And thought something happened during the procedure. Went right to the E.R and they did an exam and it was just gas and constipation. It was low where my uterus is so gas sidnt cross my min.My baby moves like crazy at the ultrasounds I have had (almost 12 weeks now) and have tried my hardest to feel movement and there's nothing. You probably just need to poop

Lol pretty sure "timeline of baby movement" isn't a set-in-stone minute-by-minute this-is-the-way-it-has-to-be actual timeline of movement. Just because you can't personally feel it doesn't mean that every woman is like you. Also, I do believe I saw where this is your 1st pregnancy? Who are you to tell anyone what they're feeling if they're in their 2+ pregnancy? Are you going to go through motherhood abiding by every timeline you see for a child? If so, let me tell you (I have 5 children btw) it doesn't work like that. Every child is different and actually grows, learns, develops, etc. at a different rate. I hope your pregnancy, birth and child raising years work out perfectly for you though. I'm afraid of how you might react if they don't.

My midwife for my second confirmed it was possible to feel baby at 9 weeks. And seriously he doesn't stop moving now. He hurt me so many times when I was pregnant with him because of how hard he kicked and moved. It is very possible.

This is my 4th pregnancy and I didn't feel movement until possibly 15 weeks. And even that was doubtful. The thing is, at 10 weeks or less the baby is just not strong enough or big enough to be felt. They are just floating around and barely wiggling. A few websites that explain it a little. https://americanpregnancy.org/while-pregnant/first-fetal-movement/
I'm sure these websites aren't just teaming up against women to be mean. I'm willing to bet there has been a lot of "scientific" research to support them. But if you're not a fan of science in relation to fetal development maybe you could see the sex on an ultrasound at 12 weeks too!!!
I just love how articles from Web MD baby center and the bump trump actual confirmation for medical professionals who have seen these people first hand and have birthed and cared for thousands of expecting mothers and their growing little ones. Now that's real science people. But no matter of debate is going to convince the "because science" people that when It comes to the human body there are a lot more variables then what these articles cover. (these articles are like breast milk the info you can get from a doc ob or midwife is like a choice cut Coby beef steak! both are good but I'll take the steak thanks.) But thanks for actual posting links. And in the long run who cares. Why are you people so adamant about trying to make people with a different experience fit In to your normal? Unless your just jealous that some people may be able to feel things you didn't. It's like those mom's that push their kids to read by age two and turn raising their kids Into an insane compilation.
Well how about I jump in here (since I'm at work and bored lol). I have felt movement, only once or twice, within the past week. These were when I was sitting crooked on the couch. I don't feel it all the time but undoubtedly this is NOT gas- which I know what that feels like and I'm not afraid to let it RIP when I need to (been doing it all day at work lol)! I'm pretty sure the once or twice I did feel it was because of how I was sitting and things were kinda squished to one side. Once I switched positions it was gone. What I felt was fluttery, and under my belly button, more on the right side of my lower tummy, right about where I feel my bump.

I think it's hilarious for other mothers to discredit what is NOT their experience. It's not Your body. Everyone is different and have different relationship with their body, be happy for each other and let it be. It could be movement for others n gas for u or vise versa. Geez
My Mom said she had that "fish" feeling when she was pregnant with me. It's called quickening--typically occurring between 13-16 weeks if you look it up. So although it's a little early you definitely could be feeling movement! I'm at 11 weeks and haven't felt it yet...

OP says she's 10 weeks though and there was someone else who said they felt at 9 weeks. They aren't receptive to data gathered over years and years of resaesrch put together by several hundreds of doctors that all came to the same conclusion of when it's possible to feel fetal movement. Instead they listen to their doulas or other women who swear they felt the sperm swimming and cells dividing.
I mean the guidelines for fetal development were obviously made up by a bunch of meanies out to steal an expectant mother's joy. And science doesn't exist in a world full of speshul snowflakes full of rainbow farting unicorns.
This. I'm glad my BMB actually has some logical people on it who understand how pregnancy actually works and don't go around claiming special snowflake syndrome... And just so you all know, in nursing school during my OB rotation I had to spend a week in an OB's office working closely with widwives and OB's and they told us we're required to tell mom's that we don't know what they are or aren't feeling and that if they think they're feeling baby they probably are even IF we know it's not possible that you're feeling baby. So no, your doctor telling you that you can feel the baby at 9 weeks does not mean a thing to me, and they probably laughed about you right after you left the office. JS.
This is your uterine height by gestational week of pregnancy. Remember your intestines go all the way down so gas can be felt anywhere around your uterus. There is no way to know whether you are feeling baby or gas until you are much farther along unless you physically see your baby moving on an ultrasound and feel corresponding movements...and even then it can be a total coincidence.

I was going to post the same diagram. I still had to get a transvaginal unltrasound at 9weeks 4days. They can't even "see" the baby from the outside. So feeling any sort of movement is very very doubtful. However I feel like I'm jumping into this game late so....

You might want to do a little more research regarding this. It is completely possible for a skilled technician to determine the sex via ultrasound at 12 weeks. Though most prefer to do it on or after 15 weeks. I was with my niece for a typical ultrasound when she was 12 weeks along & the tech was able to see it was a boy. She was around 13 weeks when she found out her 2nd baby was a girl. If you take the time to thoroughly read the information out there you would know that the baseline time charts are an overall average, not set in stone. I have always felt my babies move at the 12-13 week. I am 12 weeks now so I will probably feel something in the next week or so. I have an over weight family member who doesn't feel movement until 20 + weeks along, that is her normal. The body size, weight and previous pregnancies have a lot to do with when she will show and when she will feel movement. Do I think a woman can feel the baby move at 7 weeks, I doubt it highly. But so frigging what. If you are going to use science, use all of it. Lol
