Diaper rash help!!

DD has a small rash on her bum and it has become pretty raw in the last two days. I've tried Desitin and A&D, doesn't seem to be working. Has anyone used breast milk to get rid of LO's diaper rash? Does it work? Are there any other remedies you have used that have worked? TIA!

Re: Diaper rash help!!

  • DS had a little diaper rash and Desitin actually made it worse. My sisters and I were the same way. I tried Aquaphor and it worked like a charm. GL!

  • We use a locally made cream, but my pedi will recommend using Maalox, Milk of Mag, or Pepto on their bottoms if the rash is really raw.  It keeps the acid from reaching their skin.

  • My LO had a pretty bad diaper rash- I tried all the diaper creams and they were just making it worse. I had the pedi take a look at it and he said that it was actually thrush on his bum. Used Nystatin cream and it went a way in a few days.  If it doesnt get better, Id have the pedi look at it and make sure that it is indeed a diaper rash and not something else.

    Good luck!
