@apinkpelican I think you should start posting to all the different threads about having a boy! Or even better, start a new one!

    ETA: congrats on the boy!
  • @RepeatPostPolice: There's the simple, straightforward answer I was looking for! Thank you! :-)
Notice how I didn't tell you whether or not you should eat it? You're an adult, you can make that choice for yourself. :)
Haha, and I greatly appreciate that. I now have the info to make an informed decision. I had to get after people for telling me what I could and could not do. I'm an educated 30yo who reads and researches everything and people are acting like I can't be trusted to make good decisions for my baby. Pregnant women have brains too!!!!! Lol.

YES! People keep telling what not to eat and what I can eat. Yes, thank you, I KNOW! My OBGYN gave me a list of things to stay away from. Just because we become pregnant does not mean we lose our ability to know what not to do. Sheesh.
UGH yes, so annoying. Do people really think we're not informed?!  We were at a BBQ with my in-laws recently and DH made me taco dip because I was craving it. I take my first big, glorious bite...and my obnoxious FIL SHOUTS at me! "YOU CAN'T EAT THAT!!!!! IT'S SPICY! YOU'RE PREGNANT!!!!!"  Oh, am I pregnant? I wasn't aware lol.  My SIL (who is a nurse and has pre-school age kids) stepped in before I could even respond and was like, "DAD! Not a thing. Leave her alone."  And I rolled my eyes at him and said, "The baby specifically requested this." And took a huge bite while I looked him straight in the eye lol.

And the thing was that DH made it special with organic beef, organic black beans, and organic low-fat cheese and it was actually full of protein and good nutrition for me!  What an ass.  (FIL, not DH clearly lol.)

  • They do, not all use them though.
And some of the "advice" people give pregnant women is just ridiculous.

So it turns out my 16 week anatomy scan was a mistake in their scheduling but my Dr rocks and she went ahead and did it anyways. There was one measurement they couldn't read yet so I'll have another US at 20 weeks.
And believe it or not the harmony test was confirmed And we saw our little boy :D

After the appointment I blew off work and got 2 new pairs of maternity jeans from ON. Love them!

Glad you got to see your baby anyway, even though it's early yet! Guess you were right to doubt that over the weekend.
    Yay for shopping too!
  • @DaphneMoon1 you take the time to catch up and know what's happening. You participate and comment on others threads. You are not a lurker!
  • @DaphneMoon1 you are a better person than I. I came back after a couple of days and was totally like, "I *heart* you guys, but I just skimmed this whole thing".

  • @hailees that is cute! I'm sure your LO will love it!! :D
  • I love gifs. That is all. Oh and this:

  • I love the sarcasm! I read most of those "RAMZI ME!" posts and I'm like, "I just can't" and have to click out of as fast as possible. I one day hope to be as snarky as y'all! :)

Also, where is the post explaining gifs? I'm sure there are 10000000 but my computer is being stupid.

  • Just caught up after this long long long day! I could never name my kid the same name as my ex! My dogs name rhymes with my ex and I was weary about that! Oh and one more point to add on, doctors definitely don't spend basically their whole life in some type of eductional program to be compared to some damn old wives tales.
  • I love gifs as well. I could just post funny ones all day. I also love the show new girl. Could watch it all day every day.

And some people who post things I just want to say this to them

    image
  • My random thought for the day: I read all 200+ post on this thread EVERY single day, because I'm always that far behind. I feel like a lurker.

This is me too. I've been in and out the past few days but it really makes me worried for when I go back to work in 2 weeks. I don't think I'll be able to keep up!
  • @indibidule I saw that on a thread on this board today and was just like, /:)
  • Okay random thought. I am actually terrified that LO will catch me and SO playing Santa. I ask SO about it everyday lol.
  • I'm think I'm the latest A/S on here! Mine is on Sept 11, exactly 20 weeks. ETA: nope sounds like it's @daniellelynette with Sept 15. @shinyspade I'm also 1/29 EDD and so is CaraBoonie! You're not alone. I also had donuts tonight. :) When DW is gone I sleep the same as if she's here - all on my side of the bed. :)
Mine will likely be 9/21 and my EDD IS 1/10. =\

I'm actually going to make my appointment a little early because my sister is getting married on the 12th of September. DH has a day off on the 7th. OB lets me make my appointments so I'm going to ask my OB if we can do the A/S on the 7th of Sept. I feel like it will be okay because LO is measuring ahead by a week or more. Gestational age was 9 weeks and LO was already measuring 10. So I'm sure my OB will be okay with it!

It's 2015 and we probs should not be using "Illegitimate or legitimate" in reference to children (or humans in general).

    Beat me to it.
  • @Lljbean what about illegitimate cats?

Meh? Snark doesn't usually involve the legitimacy of children.

    Edit: Typo
  • I didn't realize how many women don't take their husbands last name. I feel sheltered. I guess it is 2015 though.

My husband's name would have sounded nice with my last name. I now have his and no one can pronounce it. =\

I can't wait to take the same name as my "illegitimate" child. Hot damn.

    Edit to add: quotations

It's a legal definition. Again, it was sarcasm. Sorry to offend.

    Truth.

ETA: I mean, truth that it's a legal term. Not that it was sarcasm. Because there's still no damn sarcasm font so you can never freaking be sure, damnit!
  • @mg137 yeah I know but we're not in a court room. We're on a pregnancy board.

Yes. I feel like all the illegitimate cats are a major issue today in our society.

I'm hoping it's an issue brought up in the 2016 presidential campaign.

Oh well. I wasn't supposed to be able to conceive without help, so I prefer just plain "awesome."
