And maybe the last name thread

She got the ultrasound at 15 weeks. I hope it turns into a girl. lmfao *Let me have unrealistic dreams d*mnit."

It's possible they got it wrong this early.
  • @RepeatPostPolice I know....so maybe not unrealistic but far-fetched.
  • Isn't she also the gal who had the DNA testing and didn't believe it was right because Chinese calendar, Baking soda, ramzi, ring tests all said girl?
  • I love how people believe in the "science" of random tests, but don't believe doctors
  • Maybe I'm getting my "guess the gender" gals mixed up.
  • Isn't she also the gal who had the DNA testing and didn't believe it was right because Chinese calendar, Baking soda, ramzi, ring tests all said girl?

No that was a different girl

  • soulCysters.net does not constitute as a "medical website". And if Ramzi were "97.5% accurate" why don't sonographers use it to predict gender in early ultrasounds?
  • @Snoopylovesbelle I have to say I am in complete agreement with you. I'm starting to loose my mind with her repeating her story. People keep giving her the same advice and she just keeps going and going. In the beginning I felt sorry for her, now I think she's just looking for attention...

Sorry that may be harsh, but I'm cranky!

  • @RepeatPostPolice: There's the simple, straightforward answer I was looking for! Thank you! :-)
  • I can't anymore with this girl. It's a boy. We know.

This and her SO is useless... We get it!

  • All those things.. Ramzi and chinese calendar.. Are silly. Its a 50/50 chance. Either they are right or wrong. A boy or a girl. They can be used for fun sure but to rely on it, nope.

Notice how I didn't tell you whether or not you should eat it? You're an adult, you can make that choice for yourself. :)

  • Okay, I have a potentially stupid question. I know they say to avoid deli meat unless it's heated. But does that include like Boar's Head where they are slicing the turkey off of the roasted bird and giving it to you? How is that different than eating turkey at Thanksgiving? I understand avoiding Hillshire Farms and stuff like that. But I'm not sure where the listeria worry comes in.

I eat Boar's Head everything. I don't heat it either. My Dr just wants me to be careful about how my deli meat is handled and stored. There are certain stores I wouldn't trust and I definitely passed it over at the buffet at a baby shower. Side note: the majority of the buffet stuff at the BABY shower were things pregnant ladies can't eat. *facepalm*

ETA: if you want to be super duper careful you could ask the deli person to use a clean slicer.
Somebody wasn't thinking when they put that shower together! Lol.

I figured that was the case. I'm just desperate to find stuff that is healthy, sounds good, and is easy to just grab and go. I need good sources of protein because I'm getting a lot of carbs and the imbalance is giving me headaches. Thanks for the input! :-)

Haha, and I greatly appreciate that. I now have the info to make an informed decision. I had to get after people for telling me what I could and could not do. I'm an educated 30yo who reads and researches everything and people are acting like I can't be trusted to make good decisions for my baby. Pregnant women have brains too!!!!! Lol.

This!!! Why is it that when you are pregnant people treat you as though you are disabled?!

Yes! The only person I let periodically (when it suits me, of course) treat me like I'm a feeble helpless woman is my DH.

Edit quote fail and now I'm too lazy to fix it, blah.

YES! People keep telling what not to eat and what I can eat. Yes, thank you, I KNOW! My OBGYN gave me a list of things to stay away from. Just because we become pregnant does not mean we lose our ability to know what not to do. Sheesh.

My favorites are the people who haven't been pregnant in YEARS!!!!!! Do you know how much medical opinion can change in that amount of time? It's just possible that I, the one currently pregnant and seeing an OB, have more up to date info than you, person my mother's age!!!!!!

Exacly! Everyone who keeps telling me what not to do hasn't been pregnant in like 30 years. Really? I was told the other day not to eat chocolate because it will make my child too hyper. Since becoming pregnant, sweets have not liked me. I can't eat anything really sweet so I have chocolate every once in a while. And it's like one piece. I'm growing a human over here, I can have a piece of chocolate!

Theres a lady at work who is like 65 ans adopted all her kids but still feels she needs to give me pregnany advice. And if I said something about being nauseous or whatever the case was she would say "oh its not that bad". Bitchhh you adopted so dont give me any lip.
  • So it turns out my 16 week anatomy scan was a mistake in their scheduling but my Dr rocks and she went ahead and did it anyways. There was one measurement they couldn't read yet so I'll have another US at 20 weeks.
And believe it or not the harmony test was confirmed And we saw our little boy :D

After the appointment I blew off work and got 2 new pairs of maternity jeans from ON. Love them!

What? Science worked? I don't believe it.

I'm going to get a second opinion.
I think that's wise. You never can be too sure. ;-)

    Congrats on the boy!!!!
