  • Wait, @ChipMonster are you really team green?!

  • Well, I'm going to start a new thread about how I'm so jelly you all get to find out the gender way before me!
I will post gifs of peanut butter so at least you can have sandwiches while you wait.
    B-)
Peanut butter gives me heartburn. Maybe I should make another thread about that and see if anyone can give me any "advise" on making it stop. Eta quote box fail

HEARTBURN FROM PEANUT BUTTER?! Is that a side effect even when you aren't pregnant? If you post that thread I would suggest trying every kind of peanut butter in the grocery aisle. :)
  • @ChipMonster Crazinesss! That is so exciting. I tried to convince SO but he was like nope.
  • @KaraEpp16 I find it so exciting! I love the surprise. DH wasn't on board at first with DS but it was really important for me and non-negotiable. He's ok with it now but I think if given the option, he'd still rather know.
  • @Chipmonster HA! I'm 17 weeks today, I beat you!

  • @sck601 damn!! You have me beat!!

I think with the next baby I'll put my foot down especially since we're planning on it being the last. That way we don't have to deal with people saying "Oh well you already have a *boy/girl*,  too bad."  or "You'll have to try again for a *boy/girl* after this one."

They'll still say that. Even if they don't know what the sex is.
Eta it'll just be "if this is another girl, you'll have to try again" etc.

Yeah but it will all be based on their stupid hopes and not reality. MWUAHAHAHA. Hope all you want buttholes.
  • you team green girls have some strong will power.  I wanted to be TG for a second when I found out I was pregnant.  I'm such a planner though, and there's no way I can go another 23 weeks without knowing!

I am also Team Green, but my will is fading. I might just change my mind by the anatomy scan. I feel like it's a boy and I want to buy baby boy things sooooo badly!

  • How many people have to post about whether spotting is normal or not before they finally figure it out???
  • Okay, I have a potentially stupid question. I know they say to avoid deli meat unless it's heated. But does that include like Boar's Head where they are slicing the turkey off of the roasted bird and giving it to you? How is that different than eating turkey at Thanksgiving? I understand avoiding Hillshire Farms and stuff like that. But I'm not sure where the listeria worry comes in.

"Deli meats refers to cooked meats that have been sliced and prepared for sandwich and other light dining options. These could easily be called sandwich meat, lunch meat, cold cuts, or sliced meats. Deli meats could be classified as whole cuts, sectioned or formed meats, or processed meats. All deli meats will fall into one of these three categories.

Whole cut – whole cuts of meat that have been cooked and then sliced
Sectioned – restructured meats from chunks or pieces bonded to create a single piece
Processed – similar to sectioned, but may include meat by-products"

    From https://americanpregnancy.org/is-it-safe/deli-meats/

Sounds like Boar's Head would fall under "whole cut."
  • The listeria worry comes in because even though it is a rare occurrence, pregnant women are more susceptible to it; furthermore the fetus is more vulnerable to serious complications and even death because of it.

I eat Boar's Head everything. I don't heat it either. My Dr just wants me to be careful about how my deli meat is handled and stored. There are certain stores I wouldn't trust and I definitely passed it over at the buffet at a baby shower. Side note: the majority of the buffet stuff at the BABY shower were things pregnant ladies can't eat. *facepalm*

ETA: if you want to be super duper careful you could ask the deli person to use a clean slicer.

@RepeatPostPolice But I've only got 5 months, because I'm 18 weeks, does that mean I need to start a new thread since I'm due at the beginning of the month instead of the end?
    Eta ;;) ;)

    Yes.

Ha! I hustled DD in from playing in the sprinkler because I saw a guy with a clipboard a few doors down at the neighbor's house. I got everything outside cleaned up & hose turned off and got her in before he got to our house. Then let the dogs bark at the door because I was "busy" giving her a snack.
    Winning!!!
  • On my lunch break reading all of the sarcasm..you ladies are great!!

Your OB sounds like one of the best. For realz.
  • I'm think I'm the latest A/S on here! Mine is on Sept 11, exactly 20 weeks.

ETA: nope sounds like it's @daniellelynette with Sept 15. @shinyspade I'm also 1/29 EDD and so is CaraBoonie! You're not alone.

I also had donuts tonight. :)

When DW is gone I sleep the same as if she's here - all on my side of the bed. :)

Mine will likely be 9/21 and my EDD IS 1/10. =\

Maybe she should start a gofundme for a skywriter. And air time during the superbowl.
