    @hailees  Yeah, not sure what is to come of this.  We named DD after my Grandmother so he thinks it's his turn.   I also don't care much for the name in general.

    Eeeeesh @Pinkpelican I could never do that. Does DH know that it's an ex's name? Maybe if you told him, it would dissuade him from choosing that as a first name?

    I met a girl over the weekend that is also due in January.  I kept looking at her thinking... are you one of us?  Do you know my secrets?Have you figured out my real identity?!  Haha   One of my husband's friends wives had her son the month I had DD and I always wondered if she knew all of my secrets from TB.    I wasn't as internet safe back then, plus we started posting pics of our LOs when they were born so she'd know.

    I just found out yesterday that a family friend is pregnant and due the day before me, and I've been wondering this too!

    @apinkpelican every time I hear someone due in Jan at my prenatal classes I think the same thing! Who are you? Do we chat on Bump and not even know it? lol!

    Yes @chipmonster  I told him.   I even started joking that we were going to re-name our DD his ex girlfriend's name so he could understand how weird it is.    I'm really really hoping we can compromise on making it his middle name but he's stuck on making it the first name because he also has the middle name picked out (his dad's name) and just loves the initials together.   We'll see.  I'm sure I'd get used to it...

    I was on the Baby Name board last month and saw one of my college professors who I'm also facebook friends with!  She was posting an update to the board about what she decided to name her baby and it was a very uncommon first and middle name and I thought waaaaait, wasn't that what _____ named her baby?  And then I realized her username involved her first name and sure enough it was her! I've been freaked out ever since that someone is going to discover me on here.  I always crop my face out of my HDBD pics because of that!

    She's an actress so I'm assuming her agent found the part or she had some connection on the show. They actually did it when the baby was pretty new. Grey's anatomy is always like, "look at this giant, chubby, holding her head up baby that we just delivered 7 weeks early!"

    My personal feeling about names is that either partner should always have veto power. An ex is a completely reasonable veto card to use. It's unreasonable to not listen to a veto, especially one with a reason. Imho.

    Hahaha, I know what you mean, and with all the girls who live in the GTA on this board, I often wonder, could we know each other? We may but just not be close acquaintances, and not even know the other is pregnant in real life - its a little scary. Although, Im sure I'd like you in real life :)

    Can I just say, Im sitting on my bed, bumping while DH and his friend are painting the nursery. Puppy is in his crate, becuase there is too much to get into right now, and its hot outside, and in 30 minutes I get to go have a massage. Today is a good day.

    @nickicb7 are you from toronto or toronto area? Maybe we have crossed paths! Slim chance though. Im from just north of T dot. Unless GTA means something else in the states then Ill just feel silly. I have a family friend due the day before me and I wonder if shes on here.

    @apinkpelican I wouldnt be able to do it. Does the grandfather have a middle name you could use and still honour him? If my husband wanted to name our daughter after his grandma that was also his ex I couldnt do it. Totally different story if it was like a small relationship from highschool no one cares about but if you were in love or had sexual relations.. I'd probably veto it.

    My ex and I had a hypothetical name too and I still named by DD that name.   It's actually a romantic story.  It was one of our first dates and we were joking that we already knew what we'd name our kids someday, specifically we both had girl names picked out.  We were competitive so we both thought our name had to be better.    We both wrote our names down on a napkin and then exchanged the napkins.   Low and behold it was the same name.   I still have the napkin somewhere in a box in the basement with the rest of my past!  Haha.       Yes, I felt a little funny using it HOWEVER, it was my Grandmothers name and I've had it picked out since I was a kid.    My Ex texted me to congratulate me on the baby.   I'm sure it is very odd and hard for him... he tried to get back together with me but I had met DH in the mean time so it was too late.  

    ETA:   I NEVER mentioned this to DH of course....

    Pre-pregnancy I would go in for one or two things and not be able to leave with out spending over 50 bucks. Now, I've gone in there looking for specific things and can't find them - leaving with nothing. It's NUTS.

    @hailees I just got back from my appointment too. Dr did dopplar and when she started, hb was around 150 and baby got excited and it jumped up to over 160! Mine's a mover too! A/s on the 14th! Super excited to see Xe again! Also, LOVE my new Dr. She's amazing. Super down to earth and talks to you like a normal person, not down to you like some doctors.

    @indibidule that awesome!! It's so great to have a good doctor. I love mine as well, but I had to switch to her right when I got KU. Turns out she and her entire staff are the best!!
