I'm going to grab her some prune juice today and see if I can get her to drink it. My son has issues pooping too. He's 6 but I understand him. Hes an extremely picky eater. He won't eat anything. But she's a great eater.

I've also been pushing water over the last week and trying to eliminate sugar.
September 8th is when they are supposed to move her to that room. She'll be 3 on October 30th. So I have a month until she needs to be potty trained. I think I'm going to try again but start Thursday this week because we can just stay home and not go anywhere. Last week it was like underwear then pull up. Because we had school and swim lessons all week.
Ugh. I am frustrated for sure.
Ugh. Frustrating. Crossing my fingers that next week goes better.
I'm just so anxious about it. So she loses out on preschool or daycare with her friends at school because she's not ready? It's not fair to her and I'm really mad about it.
Try to keep it as casual as you can and stay focused on the positive. It sounds like that's what you're doing. I would maybe stretch out the time a little so she doesn't feel quite as much pressure and if she has an accident don't scold her just ask her if she could feel she needed to go and say that's the time we want to sit on the potty. You have the right idea trying to keep it happy and exciting. If you shamed her she would just hold it in and you'd have more issues.
Again I'm sorry, it stinks you have to rush this. I hope with a positive environment she will decide she wants to do it. But like you said, if she isn't ready she isn't ready. And she can't help it if her physical development isn't there yet.
Are you someone who would feel comfortable writing a letter to the director of the program expressing your concerns? These things never change unless people speak up. I'm not suggesting you will singlehandedly change their policy but maybe you could get them to address it. There are some good articles written by doctors arguing the harm in early potty training. Perhaps it would help.
I wonder if I spoke with someone above her? I'm totally comfortable. When it comes to my children, I don't really give a hoot who I might make mad. I just feel like it's unfair to give her spot away in the room she's in just because they feel like it's the right progression for her because she's almost of age.
I would definitely see who you can talk to about your situation. Our kids all have different needs and it's up to us to advocate for them.
So frustrating. We will get there. I'm going to talk to the director once more but if I'm not satisfied I'll go above her.
I really would love to avoid suppositories. I had to do it with my son a long time ago and it was just so traumatic for him I think.
I sent a pretty curt email to the director because I had a talk with her teacher and didn't like what I heard. They told me that they all discussed it prior to me having the baby and the teachers told the director that they weren't sure she would be ready because she hadn't really shown any signs. And the director said well she's gonna have to get onboard and so are her parents. Really?? I was hot. She's 2. So I wrote her an email to let her know just how 'on board' I was. Lol.
I ended up running into the director at school Wed. She said she won't lose her spot I the toddler room but can't move up into the preschool room unless potty trained. She did say that I could go ahead and send her in undies this week and the teachers can help.
Ugh. Say a prayer! Lol.
Today hasn't been great. Lol. She wanted undies this morning but she's throwing an absolute fit aboit sitting on the potty. She's holding it. I know she is because she went from 8am to 1pm before she peed her pants!!
Here's a question- if you kept her in the toddler room would she be there for the whole year could she change mid-year? Could she move up with her peer group next year? If yes to either is is so bad to keep her with the toddlers? Just a thought.
Soo today I picked her up at school. She goes 9-12 two days a week during the summer. I immediately notice she's in the same clothes that I dropped her off in?! She peed in the potty at school today!!! No accidents. I was so excited that I got a little teary. Lol. She's had three accidents since being home but I'm feeling encouraged!! And she was allll smiles.
It's nice not changing her diaper anymore or buying them!! She's soo tall that she hangs off the changing table. Lol
Thank goodness it wasn't. X-rays showed that she was extremely gassy and backed up. They said it was good we brought her because she was close to having problems because of it. Poor baby. They ended up giving her a pediatric enema. It worked thank goodness but it was so hard. I had to put a bed pad on my lap.. Put her in a diaper and hold her as she cried.
All the while I'm worrying that it's traumatizing her and hoping she doesn't avoid pooping even more!!
I was working all day with my mom delivering wedding cakes. She thankfully stopped over afterwards so she came and sat in the lobby with my oldest son and our baby while DH and I were back with DD.
