Quick question bc my Drs office is closed... Do any of your have your anatomy scan before 20 weeks? I just got a VM from my Drs office reminding me of an appt for this Monday. I'll be 16 weeks. I make all my apts for Thursday/Friday since those are my days off but they only do US on Mondays. I swear I didn't have another appointment until my anatomy scan. But this seems too early. -signed, super confused.
@apinkpelican my A/S for DD was at 16 weeks and everything was fine. She was able to get all of the measurements they need. With this LO, my appointment is at 19 weeks
@apinkpelican I've heard of people having their A/S done that early. Mine will be at 19w, end of Aug. With DD I had it around 18w. A word from the wary - gender guess may or may not be accurate when done that early. My sister's was done @ 16w and they got it wrong.
@sck601@jessfragione really?! wow! I had no idea they did then this early. DD's was at 20 weeks. I can't believe I might get to meet my little man on Monday
My Dr won't do mine Monday at my appointment at 18+2, I have to schedule another appointment JUST for a sono for the next week, Thursday or Friday at 19+5 or 6. Frustrating. I'm impatient and want to know if we're having a boy or girl. I want to shop. Lol.
Can I just take a moment to say how much I love you all? You are my kind of people talking about food! I love food. Food hasn't loved me recently, but it's okay. One day we'll be back together.

We did the blood test so know it's a boy (except I'm really doubting the results because I peed in a bucket of antifreeze and it told me I was having a girl Edited: got cut off .. But for real, I'm surprised my same dr would do it a month earlier than when she did mine for DD. If the genitals aren't fully formed I hope she can get a read on all of the important things!
They are giant fried flat doughs that are coated in cinnamon & brown sugar. Oh god, soooo good!
Holy cow! That sounds amaze balls
Elephant ears are my main reason for going to the fair. One week until our state fair opens!!!!!!!!
We dont seem to have elephant ears in canada.. Maybe they should make their way up here! The best part of our fairs are tiny tom donuts which are mini donuts freshly made and you can get icing sugar, cinnamon, or chocolate powder on them. Its heavenly.

And you're sure you're not having any mother's intuition that it could be a xenomorph instead of human? I've read that the antifreeze test sometimes give false positives on human vs. alien. Eta gif for you

Seriously, my husband told me before we ever got pregnant that if we ever did, he would call it a xenomorph until it came out. So we call it Xe for short.
Random thought: MILs do you think they cross boundaries that they wouldn't with their own daughter because she ( the daughter ) has decades of setting boundaries and speaks up immediately?
Edit to add: and it's just amplified when their son has a child....

I would say thats a pretty accurate assumption. Lucky for me my MIL doesnt cross boundries. She has all boys so shes delighted to have me around yet she isnt pushy or nosey. But they definitely cross boundries because they feel they can.
@CaraBoonie my favorite is chocolate chips from the freezer. I have a giant bag and pour myself a little cup every once and awhile when I want something sweet. But tonight required a Frosty 8-}
@KaraEpp16 you may have something there. Saw a quote once "A daughter's a daughter all her life. A son is a son until he has a wife." So.... maybe? *shrug*

Not to be a harbinger of doom or anything, but I hope your MIL stays that way after you have your LO too.
I thought my MIL was awesome. Until I got pregnant with DD.
I'm just realizing that now that I'm having a boy someday I will be the MIL!! I'll never see my grandchildren bc my daughter in law will be on TB hatin' on me! Haha
I'm very lucky because SOs mom is precious and smart and observant. I know that she's excited and it makes me happy. I just know that her daughter is on her all the time. To be honest my SOs sister is scarier and more outspoken than his mom. Like I had a conversation with his sister about a conversation we had at family gathering and she remarked that her mom needed to cool it. It made me uncomfortable to address that comment because I didn't agree and was kind of thrown off. SOs mom called me a few days later and told me she was glad that I can speak up for myself to her. Then she mentioned her daughter telling her to cool it. She seemed embarrassed and I never thought she was over the top so my SOs sister either misunderstood or misconstrued what I meant while talking to her. Honestly, maybe this should have been a FFFC I think his sister is jealous because she won't be the baby anymore and I think she assumed she would be the first one to have kids. So she's taking it out on her mom and making me look bad. Sorry....ranting.

I hadn't realized this until you said it. We're having a boy, so I will have to remember not to be all up in DIL's business.
@RepeatPostPolice UGH my MIL lives by that quote! I heard it throughout our engagement, after we were married, and even now that we have a baby on the way. Literally every time I see her!!!! "Well ya know...When a daughter gets married you gain a son. When a son gets married you lose a son." I guess she didn't gain me... -_-
I've never heard that saying, but it seems true. My husband was soo close to his mom before we met. I seriously became the center of his world and I still am. I love him and people say that is how it is supposed to be, however I remind him to reach out to his mom. She missed him. I can see it in her eyes when they are together.
She is pretty hands-off and calm about things. She wanted to have more children but couldn't (she had 2) so she definitely says she gained a daughter. I hope our relationship continues to be a good one. *Fingers crossed*
My MIL lives 2,000 miles away and doesn't have money to visit so I see her maybe once a year. This luckily means it's difficult for her to meddle but it also means that even after almost 9 years I still hardly know her and it's a little awkward when I do see her.

Maybe you should say that to her next time and see how she reacts. Lol.
