Ugh that's rough @essentialpeace!! We start 8-13 and I think that's too early! I'm in IL
  • Wow! Both of those are too early lol. The kids around here start 9/08 lol.
  • I manage an Alzheimers center. I'm also currently the nurse in my center until we fill te position again. To say I'm busy is an understatement.

Basically it's a day center for patients with Alzheimers or dementia. We focus on activities to keep them engaged and hopefully as independent as possible while allowing their caregivers to still work. I love what I do and it's my dream job... I'm still unsure if I'm going to become a SAHM in Jan. It's such a tough decision.

I just wanted to say, I'd wait until you are on mat leave to make a final decision about that.
I went back to work about 9 wks after I had DD and I could only stand it for about 2 months - between a ridiculous boss and working more hours than I wanted to, I was so stressed that I decided it wasn't worth it.
You can do whatever you want, and you should do what you feel is best for you and your family. Good luck!

  • CPA - contemplating part time once the baby is born.
  • I was a nanny to a 10yo and a 13yo up until last week. Gave the job to my future SIL. She needs the money more and literally lives across the street from them. So for now I'm a kept woman. (HA!) I spend a lot of time volunteering and helping out friends and family though.
  • I'm a LVT (licensed veterinary technologist) and I work in a small animal clinic full time. After baby comes will switch to part time or become a stay at home. Not sure because I love working and making money and can't imagine just being at home.
