I left my first career a little over a year ago as a mortician, I studied mortuary science in school. So that I could pursue my passion which is working in animal rescue specifically with dogs. So now I'm the adoption counselor for an awesome all breed rescue shelter. We pull dogs out of high kill shelters in other states hours before euthanasia, rehabilitate them if necessary and find them wonderful homes in our area.
I'm about to graduate with my degree in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I'll be opening my own acupuncture and herbal medicine practice this fall. Which will be fun timing with a new baby in January. (
I manage an Alzheimers center. I'm also currently the nurse in my center until we fill te position again. To say I'm busy is an understatement.
Basically it's a day center for patients with Alzheimers or dementia. We focus on activities to keep them engaged and hopefully as independent as possible while allowing their caregivers to still work. I love what I do and it's my dream job... I'm still unsure if I'm going to become a SAHM in Jan. It's such a tough decision.

I just wanted to say, I'd wait until you are on mat leave to make a final decision about that. I went back to work about 9 wks after I had DD and I could only stand it for about 2 months - between a ridiculous boss and working more hours than I wanted to, I was so stressed that I decided it wasn't worth it. You can do whatever you want, and you should do what you feel is best for you and your family. Good luck!
I own 2 children's boutiques (1 is handmade clothing the other is retail), a photography business, and I am a college instructor (full-time BUT only in the summer).
I'm a teacher! Still not permanent after 5 years of long term contracts. I've done daily supply, taught grade 3, kindergarten, grade 4/5 and 5/6. I love grades 3-6, hoping to stick there. Still waiting on a contract for Sept. Prayers are appreciated!
I was a nanny to a 10yo and a 13yo up until last week. Gave the job to my future SIL. She needs the money more and literally lives across the street from them. So for now I'm a kept woman. (HA!) I spend a lot of time volunteering and helping out friends and family though.
I'm a LVT (licensed veterinary technologist) and I work in a small animal clinic full time. After baby comes will switch to part time or become a stay at home. Not sure because I love working and making money and can't imagine just being at home.
Re: Bored waiting on doc to call, sooo...
