Since we seem to have so many readers on this BMB, we thought it'd be a good idea to start a book recommendation thread!
Post here to recommend a book (please include title, author, and genre), request new books in a genre you love, or rave about the latest book you've read!
Include your Good Reads username as well if you'd like! Mine is vvitchhazel!
Re: Bookworms!
I'm kind of cheap when it comes to books though so I stick to free or $.99 ones from Amazon or the the library when I get to it. I just read Still Alice by Lisa Genova. Very good!!
eta my goodreads name is the same as here: indibidule

I would recommend "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See. It made me laugh, cry and really clung to my brain afterwards. It's about your perspective on your friendships vs the perspective of your friend. It's set in nineteenth century China when they still practiced foot binding. I'm currently reading another book by her called Shanghai Girls but I'm having my usual "end of book" anxiety.
If not, brief info: Not the Tudor period, more centered around the Jacobite rebellion of 1745 in England & Scotland.
They made it into a tv show, but there are 8 books out now and author is in the works on #9.
Also, very awesome. Reminds me of my nana. Ahhhhh I love that woman.
Right now, I am reading A Hundred Pieces of Me by Lucy Dillion and that has been a nice, insightful book so far. Oh and, My Life in France by Julia Child. I love her, so so much.

If you like historical fiction, Ken Follett's Century Trilogy is great (quite lengthy though)
Looking forward to getting some new material from this thread!
Royal We - written by the Fug Girls, sort of royals fan fiction
A Man Called Ove - very endearing
The secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes
Other books I've read this summer:
Amy Poehler's "Yes Please" (She's so funny... I'm loving it. )
Paula Hawkins' "Girl on a Train" (A creepy story but so hard to put down)
Jasper Fforde's "Shades of Grey: A Novel" (NOT 50 shades. It's a dystopian society book where your value is based on what colors you can see. Interesting)
Helen Bryan's "War Brides" (A story of a few women during war and how they're connected)
Beatriz Wiliams' "A Hundred Summers" (Two women who were friends in college- one super wild the other very responsible, and how their choices shaped their lives and led them back around one another)
Sorry my summaries aren't super good. These are all good reads though!!
Big little lies- liane moriarty
Where'd you go, Bernadette? -Maria semple
A visit from the goon squad- Jennifer Egan
Binary star- Sarah Gerard
The other typist- Suzanne rindell
Hausfrau- jill essbaum
Eventually, I think it would be cool to talk about baby books/childrens books that we/our kids have read and liked.
My all time favs are The Hobbit, the Mortal Instruments series, and John Green's Looking for Alaska.
If anybody else loves YA, I have tons of recommendations.
