    I'm a lawyer pregnant with my third and I think I might stay home after this one is born because I don't know how my husband will survive the 60-80 hour workweeks on his own. Did you keep your bar membership? I'm not sure if I should go inactive or try to do some side work. @alice2Bcheshire

    Hi @MeghaJake! I moved to inactive status as soon as my memberships were up for renewal. It was a tough decision, but I'm licensed in two states and the cost of keeping the active licenses combined with the loss of my salary (and the ever-present student loan payments for a degree that's metaphorically and literally collecting dust) was too much to be offset by occasional side work. Plus, I had two infants and a toddler-- I barely had time to brush my teeth some days, much less do any actual legal work that required my brain ;)

  • Wow, everyone has much more interesting jobs than me.  Full time toll collector on a bridge. I work around a lot of traffic and semi trucks.
