Apparently my baby is huge! At my 20 week ultrasound my baby weighed 15oz. She wants to do another ultrasound at 28 weeks to see what the baby is measuring at. Anyone else having a big baby? Or had a big baby?
This baby is only in the 76th percentile but my first one ended up weighing 9+ oz. My first OB predicted that she'd only weigh 6-6.5oz, lol!
I'm of the belief that all the check points like that are relative. Every child grows at a different rate. Maybe your baby hit a growth spurt early, and next month the growth may slow a bit. I wouldn't stress about it just yet.
The baby is measuring a week and 3 days bigger then my due date and at the 87 percentile. My dr won't move up my due date because the baby would have to measure more then 2 weeks bigger fit him to do it.

I'm the opposite! Had my scan today at 20+4 and she said on the smaller side at 11oz. Said prob cuz of my size but wanted to see me back in 4 weeks to monitor growth. A little nervous :-/ and smaller baby mamas too?
I've always heard that weight is inaccurate during the ultrasounds. My friend just had a baby and they said she would be 7lbs at birth according to 40 week ultrasound. Well she was born at 41 weeks 9 lbs!
I measured 13 oz at 20 weeks and my tech didn't really say anything about size
My LO measured 14 oz at my ultrasound. It was at 21 weeks but the tech didn't seem to think that was excessive. The doc hadn't gotten the results at my last appt. Sigh, I guess no news is good news.

My baby was 11oz too, I have to go back a few more times to monitor growth throughout the rest of my pregnancy too!
At 17w3d my baby was 7oz and in the 40th percentile. I have to go every 7 weeks for a growth scan but I am also considered high risk due to AMA and hypothyroidism. Next scan is this Friday, I'm pretty nervous about. Really hoping he's staying on track.
At 20w2d my baby was 14oz and my Dr said that was right on target. I am more worried about the fact that all the long bones were measuring a week and a half ahead. This baby is going to be taller than me when it comes out.
At 21 weeks 5 days my boy was weighing in at 1lb 3oz about a week ahead. My Ob wasn't concerned and did not offer me another US. She said that I'm probably going to have a big baby. My husband and I were both large babies.
My doctor has never mentioned my baby's weight and I had my anatomy scan at 19w 5d. I'm now 21w 2d. She just said everything was normal. Is this something she should be talking to me about? Now I'm nervous!
At my 19w 4d anatomy scan little miss was about 10oz. No one seemed concerned, but I don't see my regular ob until the 2nd (and she hasn't called yet either so I'm assuming all is good) so I'm not worried about the little girl. On the other hand I had a friend go in at exactly 20 weeks and her little boy was 15oz, and they weren't concerned. So I think either way can be fine.
My baby was also 15oz at 20 weeks. Dr didn't seem concerned and I'm measuring on target. The NP I saw last month said at 20 weeks most babies are about the same
My first son was measuring 5 days ahead on my 20 week scan, my stomach never measured any bigger or anything. The drs guessed he would be 7.5-8 lbs and no bigger ... He was born 9 lbs 7 oz, 23 inches long with a head of 39.5 ! I think you'll be fine !
Everyone's answers make me feel much better. My doctor had me nervous saying we need to monitor her growth and that I need another ultrasound in 7 weeks.
My first was 9.6 at birth and I did not have gestational diabetes. I delivered vaginally, with little tearing, but thank everything holy for a good epidural...and eating the night before like I was going to run a marathon. Big babies are awesome!
@RainbowMama7@christina4436 my baby measured at 11oz and no one seemed concerned. Doctor actually mentioned I probably won't have any more ultrasounds unless something new comes up.

I am on the smaller side too!! I just went back at 24 weeks and am still measuring on the smaller side. I have to go back in 3 weeks just to make sure we're still on track. I'm pretty small and I was a smaller baby myself so my doctor wasn't too concerned. I'm going to eat LOTS of food (protein) this week and hopefully this baby grows!!
@edavis926@RainbowMama7@christina4436 my baby also measured at 11oz and I have to go back in 4 weeks but they only said it was because she wasn't cooperating and they need more pictures... weight wasn't mentioned...

Not necessarily, I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't even know giving the weight was an option when I went, and I don't even think the tech was planning on telling us, until my stepmom asked "can you tell how much the baby weighs?"
Our little girl measured 15 oz at 20 weeks, 2 days. She has an abnormality with her umbilical cord (one large artery & one vein....instead of 2 veins) which could affect her growth. We have to have it confirmed & checked out by a specialist. And then I will probably have to have monthly ultrasounds to make sure she is getting enough and growing properly. I asked the tech and my doctor about her size and they said it was good. Didn't make it sound like she was too big. But she is bigger than what I have read is average....but that makes me feel better since I'm nervous about the umbilical cord issue!
@taralohse thanks for the advice! Glad to have others in same boat. Yea I haven't been able to eat much meat. Going to get ensure today to make sure I get enough protein!
Mine was also 15oz at 20 weeks and measuring big around the abdomen too. I believe it Bc I'm so much bigger at this point than with my first, and he ended up being 8lb 10oz
@christina4436@RainbowMama7 my baby measured 11oz at 20 as well...my doctor didn't seemed worried one bit, my first born was on the small side as well. I'm a small body framed person, and was also a small baby as well as my baby's dad! I wonder why exactly they asked for you ladies to go back to follow up on growth. My doc didn't mention anything to me besides seeing him again on my next visit (the 29th) we'll see how much baby has grown...im not too worried on size! I did get the good news of a healthy baby in there, so I try to focus on that more than baby being on the smaller scale!
At my 20 week scan Bebe measured 10 ounces, doc wasn't worried at all and said I wouldn't need to come back for more scans unless something came up between now and delivery. Kind of concerned that others with similar sized babies are being asked to return because of size.
