Baby bump @ 9 weeks??

Ok ladies, first time Mommy here. Is it normal to start seeing a bump @ 9 weeks? I haven't been eating anything irregular..bc well I have no appetite actually....I drink a normal amount of fluids...so I am curious as to whether its water weight or if I'm really showing!? Being that this is my first baby, I am so excited to start showing, but I don't want to show it if It's not supposed to show yet! :)

You do not have a bump. Its bloat. The bump will come later.

  • It's bloat.  Most FTM don't show until mid second tri.  Most people say between 18-22 weeks is when they have a bump.

  • Your uterus is still tucked behind your pelvic bone until week 12-13.

Pregnancy slow down the digestive system, and you are retaining water.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • My OB could have gotten the date wrong, I suppose. I did deliver a 6 lb baby at 36 weeks

I doubt your OB was 4 weeks off with your due date. Either way you didn't have a bump at 10.5 weeks and I doubt you has a visible bump at 14 weeks.

    FWIW, I delivered a 6lb 3 oz baby at 33 weeks.

I think it's possible. Every pregnancy is different even though people keep saying "it's impossible" blah blah blah. I've heard from doctors that baby bump can start getting more noticeable around 9-14 weeks. And you know your body more than anyone else.

Yeah everyone with your facts and your science blah blah blah.  What the hell do you know?!

Do you have to be so nasty? It's not cute and secondly there is nothing that says it is defiantly bloat. Everything I've read has said most likely. I've also read that depending on if this is your first child, weight, how many you're having etc determines how soon you start to show. And seeing that every pregnancy differs (which is how science puts it) then it is more than possible to show this soon.

This is yet another thread I ventured into out of curiosity and found myself disappointed by the way people are responding to each other. It's chains like this that make this forum seem like not a safe place to ask questions and put yourself out there.
Because giving people honest factual answers is oh so very disappointing....  What's happening is what always happens.  OP asks of they are showing at (fill in single digit) weeks.  People say, "no it's bloat". Then some SS who has embraced their special snowflakeness pops in with, "You guys aren't scientist!  I KNOW MY BODY! It's totes possible to show early.  I was showing at 5 weeks and I felt my special baby kick at 8 weeks.  Don't let the jealous haters get you down OP".

There appears to be a magic BMB where everyone is showing early.
I am not disputing giving factual advice but does that advice have to be given in a belittling obnoxious way? Can't you just say I get that you want it to be the baby showing cause that is exciting but it's unfortunatly just gas. Give to time and the baby will show. Do you have to talk to the person like there desire to be showing makes them an idiot? Yes facts are facts and yes factual evidence is the most important thing but you don't have to be rude about it. So you can try to justify your lack of patients with commentary about how if someone doesn't believe what you are saying you need to force it down their throat but you won't convince me that that is necessary. If someone hears your fact and ignores it that is their problem not yours so don't get so angry about it.
LOL who's angry?  Would you mind pointing where all this rudeness took place? Or where anyone talked to OP like she was an idiot?  If someone comes away from an exchange feeling like an idiot that's on them.
  • @bizzerbee I told PP, not OP, to get with the century because she was upholding outdated, sexist standards. But if you would like to be told to be pretty and shut up, which is essentially what she said we should do, that's all you. I'll take my college degree, fulfilling career, and partner who respects me as an equal any day over that noise.
  • @Mamabeagle Oh please! How can you equate "it's not cute" to "just be pretty and shut up" ? That's a pretty big stretch.

    Reading comprehension and inference.
Its real neat how she skipped over the original blah blah blah post.  That wasn't sarcastic at all.  if you want people to hold your hand and tell you things how you want to hear them, you need to call your mom.  There IS a magic BMB where everyone is apparently showing early.  I did not make that up.
  • @bizzerbee I responded to one of your posts with the same frankness but I guess because I was telling you what you wanted to hear it was ok.  I settled on this site instead of others because Id rather be told hard truth than have people pander to me.  Im like that IRL too.

Oh my God. I cannot believe this post.

Really are some egotistical people on this site! Believe what you want to believe, if it gives you some kind of comfort to think that your baby is showing early, then you hold that thought close to your heart and don't let anyone tell you different :-)

Unbelievable that people think they have the right to talk to others like they have on this post. Such a shame.

Thanks for proving my last post in this thread true.
