I thought it'd be kind of fun to start a thread with names you wish you could use for your children

They can be silly, names better suited for the opposite sex or the name your bitch friend stole for her kid once you told her.
I'll start!
1) Dick Tracy Tate
2) Captain
3) Harrison
I think normally my husband would go for Harrison but he knows about my huge and ridiculous crush on Harrison Ford so he just laughed when I brought it up lol
Re: Names You Wish You Could Use
Juliet
Elliott
Isabeau
Tristan
Paisley
Kimball
Ezra
McKay
Levi
Jasper
Beatrice
lily
Luella
Hermione
Luna
Naming a child is too stressful. And my husband doesn't appreciate my love for all things Harry Potter.
John (DH's brother whom we don't feel like naming a child after. But I dig the name.)
Van Helsing
Aaron (DH doesn't want our son thinking we wanted a girl and planned to name her Erin.)
Casey (another androgynous name.)
Tom (already named one Tom.)
Just to let you know here in California many of those names are boy names. Not that you should care, if you love it there you go! Tristan is Brad Pitts character in Legends Of The Fall Elliot is my sons name. I know 3 or 4 others all boys Levi just feels boy and Jasper is a boy. (Screw you Twiglist) lol My daughter is Quinn. Mostly a boys name it seems.
I also wanted Amelia but that's the new popular name so it's a no go.
We are considering Quincy or Kinsley for a girl (also love the name Adeline-- yes, from the new movie Age of Adeline) and Riker or Jasper for a boy.
Naming kids is difficult.
Our boy choice was Ramsey James. Ramsey was his great uncle's last name. He was a decorated WW2 fighter pilot and my husband admired him very much. James is after my father. We'd call him RJ which is my husband's godfather's nickname. Lots of meaning and a little bummed to not be using it for those reasons.
Harper
Georgianna
Pilar
Valentina
Harper - last year when my brother and SIL were about to have my niece they wife between this and another one and we really hoped they'd go with the other one so we could swipe this..
Kali - was actually set to be my name until my aunt talked my mom out of it. I've always loved it. Brothers dog.
Kyra - saw it in a book years ago. Brought it up for our dog a couple years ago and fiance hates it. Too much like Tyra and apparently he knows a really annoying Tyra
There are more on my list that I know just won't make it to the final list but those are the ones with reasons. Good thing its a girl because we got nowhere with boy names!
For a boy I like River. It's strong, poetic and unique. My husband just thinks it's weird.
I suggested Gavin, hubby nixed it
I thought about Isaac because of its significance in the Bible, but I dated a guy named Isaac and that name is forever tarnished
DH suggested Braxton, which is an awesome name in my opinion, but it's already claimed as my nephew's middle name
Then there was Caspian, like Prince Caspian in the Chronicles of Narnia, but DH is not a Narnia fan.
Thankfully we're having a girl so no more naming woes!
Names that failed the language test are Aria and Emma. One name I really wanted was Emily, but my MIL has a dog of that name and I can't get over it.
Presley (my friend's daughter's name)
Isabella- I've loved since I was a kid but then twilight happened
Sloan- husband wouldn't agree since the character from Enterage was so hot.
Maple
Lotte
Flora
Fern
Freya
Then there's my pick from a few years ago that is just not gonna fly right now:
Elsa
And of course the boy name we had picked out that just won't work for our girl:
Arlo David
(My favorite name, but SIL already claimed it...and she's not even pregnant. She actually mentioned it way before I got pregnant, and I don't want to take it away from her.)
Tessa
Isla
Willa
(Fiancee hates these, says they sound old lady, but I asked him to reconsider Isla again last night and he said he would...)
Ruby/Scarlett
(My stepdaughter's name is Rose, so I think we are at our limit for red/pink color names, lol)
Sophia
(Way too popular)
Anything really long/many syllables
(Fiancee's last name is a super long, complicated Italian last name. It will probably take years for the poor kid to learn to spell their last name, I don't want to add a long first name on top of it.)
It was my great-aunt's name. She was murdered in the Holocaust. I love the name, but Disney made the name unusable long ago. :c
The middle name for our baby girl will be Louise, as it is my middle name, my mom's middle name and was my Granny's name. Finding something to go with Louise is interesting, especially when DH doesn't offer much for ideas!!
If I was having a boy, I was seriously thinking of naming him Nolan Ryan. It started out as a joke at first but it started to grow on me after a while! I don't think my hubs was super into it, and my MIL definitely wasn't feeling it.
I don't plan to share our baby girl's name until she's born...I don't want anyone to influence my choice. This is such a big deal!!!
For girl I liked Starlynn he also vetoed that. Thought it sounded to much like starling (a bird).
I think my whole family is worried what I might come up with In the end!
We found out last week that we're having a boy!! We were so surprised to hear this because both sides of the family for DH and I are dominated with girls! We had all girl names picked out so now we need to switch gears and think of boy names (exciting!) - so here were the girl picks:
Talula (NN: Lulu)
Lola
Harper
Penelope (NN: Penny)
Lucille
Samantha
Scarlett
