I love the name Charlotte but that was grandpa's first wife's name and the marriage ended horribly. He found out she was cheating on him by getting the abortion bill so needless to say that name is off the table. One of our twins was going to be Mason but my cousin who was also pregnant with twins at the time delivered before me and names her little boy Mason. I cried in the middle of a fair when I found out even though she didn't know we picked the name. We ended up naming our boys Christian and Landon. I love the name Harper but my cousin just named their little girl Harper so that off the table now. We've agreed on Genevieve Mae or Leo, we just need to find out the sex.
Just to let you know here in California many of those names are boy names. Not that you should care, if you love it there you go!
Tristan is Brad Pitts character in Legends Of The Fall Elliot is my sons name. I know 3 or 4 others all boys Levi just feels boy and Jasper is a boy. (Screw you Twiglist) lol
My daughter is Quinn. Mostly a boys name it seems.
Sorry my list wasn't meant to be gender specific. Unfortunately we actually can't use any of them because they are either taken by or too similar to another family members name. It's a bummer but it happens when you are the last ones to have kids.
I still love the name Shelby, but Kali is just as cute. I especially love hearing how proud my son sounds when he tells people he is going to be a big bro and his sister is Kali but she's still cooking..
My husbands family is super Norwegian so he really wants a Norwegian name for our baby.. He is not a follower of Disney movies but his 2 name picks when we first found out were Elsa and Olaf! I truly do like Elsa but we could never do that to our daughter it's just way to popular and iconized from the movie!
We are having a girl but my favorite boy name is Elliot and dh vetoed it right away saying he only thinks of Elliot stabler from SVU! I get it because I don't like a lot of the names he liked from being a teacher and having some misbehaving children by those names and it would be all I'd think of!
My favorite girl names all start with M, but so does baby's last name, and I'm not a huge fan of name alliteration. My favorite names are Maelin and Malia, and I can't use them (
aah1013 I love Poppy too! I really wanted to name our little girl that, but I couldn't get my husband on board... or any of my family. They all thought I was crazy. If she was going to be a boy I wanted Henry, but my SIL stole that 2 years ago after she overheard us talking baby names... go figure. 8-|

Names I can't use because we are having a boy and also because they are names our friends really want to use if/when they have a girl or names friend have already given to their girls:
@caffeinatedkat Legends of the Fall is why I LOVE the name Tristan! And I think of Quinn as being a girl name or at least a unisex one. It's a great name, too.
I've been settled on names for several years, but if I had to choose differently for a girl it'd be Eugenia (nn Genie) or Elizabeth (nn Betty), and for a boy it'd be Trey or Tripp, since DH is a junior.
Christian Bentley Anakin (hahaha. I so wish I could bring myself to do it) Tristan Jameson (but I HATE the name James which people would undoubtedly call him and drive me insane)
Fiancé said no to all of the above except Jameson. He is all for Jameson but I said no. Lol
I've always loved the name Emma Claire. ALWAYS. All of my friends know that whenever I have a baby girl, it's a given that I will name her Emma Claire. Of course I had to marry into a family where my SIL has supposedly *always* loved the name too, and when she found out I was pregnant, she texted me and told me that I better not even THINK about naming my child Emma Claire if it's a girl, or else it wouldn't end well for me. Wth! Well, I'm pregnant with a boy so at least I don't have to deal with the drama. But still. If I end up having a girl before her, I'm seriously considering choosing Emma Claire anyway. Lol.

I always thought I would name a daughter Isabella Easton and call her Bella, but Twilight ruined that. And my husband and I had settled on Genevieve Harmon if this baby is a girl until we told my family and it was met with such dislike we changed our mind. I still have thoughts of using Genevieve though- love that name!

OMG I would name my daughter Emma Claire in a freakin heartbeat lol Be like "Please, come at me."

I wanted to name boy #2 Ethan, but my husband didn't like it. When boy #3 came along, we named him Ethan. My sister is law was PISSED. Evidently she'd been trying to get pregnant before me so she could use the name Ethan and I couldn't. I had no idea that A) she was trying and it was a race (he was totally and completely a surprise baby) or she even wanted the manner
Ever since I read Lord of the Rings, I've wanted to name a daughter Lorien, (after the Elven city Lothlorien) but DH vetoed. He likes the name Ophelia (a song by The Band) but I vetoed.
I really love the name Scarlett but we are naming this baby girl Charlotte and I think that would be too rhyme-y if we had another girl. I'm sad that I can't use both the names I love!

It drives me nuts how people without children claim baby names! When we annouced I was pregnant my SIL presented me with a list of names that I am "not allowed" to use. She has this plan in her head that she'll have X amount of boys and girls with all the names picked out. I don't want any of the names on her list anyway but geez! There were names I liked before I had kids that people wanted to use but I didn't assume I had any right to them.
Maybe tell her you are going to name him Emmet Clarence, that's the male equivalent of Emma Claire right? Lol
Names I can't use: anything ending in the -en sound. People I tell this to think it's silly, but our last name is three syllables ending in -en so I don't like the rhythm that combo makes. Not quite rhyming, but awkward sounding to me.
Jack---DH really loves the name Jack, but his name is Zack, so I'm like noooo.
Clara--same reason as above, except that it rhymes with my name.
Eleanor--DH vetoed....and everyone in my family and his family that I've mentioned this to agree with DH...but I still think it's a pretty name.

I know! I think it's stupid to "claim" names anyway. I think it's first come, first served lol.
Hahaha! Emmet Clarence! )
O'15 September Siggy Challenge -- Third Trimester Woes
I also like the name Scarlett (Scarlett Kate), but my old boss has a daughter named Scarlett, and my old boss is just a weirdo!
Another one I like is Arley (Arley Kate), but everyone says that it's not even a real name! I actually found it on a baby name website but just changed the spelling.
Lastly, I like Charlie (Charlie Kate) for a girl, but evidently every little girl that gets named Charlotte will have Charlie as their nickname.
I wanted Noah for a boy although there is a lot of Noah's out there I've always loved that name along with Ayden but I already named my first born Ayden I really wanted to name our baby Alany if it was a girl & guess what it is....and guess what!!!!! My boyfriend hates that name well he doesn't "hate" it but he was clear Alany wasn't going to be an option...I like it cause my name is Analy and we are using the same letters my name has in Alany. I also liked Ylana (now that's my name spelled backwards!) but he didn't consider that one either So we are going for Siena I picked it lol...he gave in!
I always liked the name Reese for a mn for a girl, but that's my niece's middle name, so that's out.
We're having a girl and naming her Wren. I really like Wren Olivia but I have a dog named Oliver. So there's that.
There have been several other names that I've always liked that friends have used over the years but it never bothered me...until DH'S brother and his wife were expecting their 3rd child, a boy. My husband's name is Christopher and he always said he'd like to name him that and call him Topher. (Thankfully he has changed his mind on that!) but my BIL and SIL came over and said that's what they were going to use for their son, naming him after my husband. We both just told them that they could name their child what they want but not to be mad if we ever have a boy and we want OUR child to be named after HIS dad and our children share a name. They picked a different name.
Jagger Holden River The first two were my ideas and the last was my hubby's for little boy names. They were all vetoed, then we finally settled on a name we loved and two weeks later DH came up with Bodhi for a first name, so now we are back to debating. Our girls names all start with the letter S, so that if LO is a girl(we are team green) she has my initials. Every single one of those names have issues. Issues as in, 1. my MIL took one to name one of her beloved german Shepard's, 2. DH loved the name and I hated it but now it's growing on me, and 3. I love a name that DH originally didn't and is now growing on him. So we will decide in the hospital if we have a her!
My top picks were Josiah Phoenix Langston and Justus. We picked Justus because Josiah is my boyfriend's oldest nephews name, he said Phoenix sounds like a stripper name and he thought Langston was ugly. I'm still hell bent on having a little Langston Oliver one day
John (DH's brother whom we don't feel like naming a child after. But I dig the name.) Van Helsing Aaron (DH doesn't want our son thinking we wanted a girl and planned to name her Erin.) Casey (another androgynous name.) Tom (already named one Tom.)
My parents did the Erin/Aaron thing to me! They chose that as my name before birth regardless of my sex.
I'm also on the Harrison bandwagon. I love it. My husband hated it, even though I tried to sell it as being Indiana Jones based and therefore cool...
I love the name Milli Mim!!!! I ways wanted to name my daughter that. Tried for baby for years and never happened and didn't look like it would so I named our puppy Milli Mim. Too late now!

Surprise! We're having our second girl so we're back at square one.
So we are going for Siena

We both like Harrison - but do not want the nickname 'Harry'!
