Was pretty amazing! Did anyone else see it? What are your thoughts on it? I think he's going to help and inspire many transgender people! It's really important to be true to who you really are!
I love kuwk I have watched it from the beginning. . I watched the interview and honestly I dont know what to think. . Im shocked probably like most of the world. I dont hate or dislike any preference of lifestyle. I just know that the bible says its not right.
I must have missed that verse. Where exactly does the bible say that being transgender is wrong? I think the bible had a lot more to say against the rest of the Kardashians' lifestyles than about Bruce's.
I'm really happy for him that his family is so supportive and behind him all the way. My DH and I talk all the time about the possibility of having a homosexual or transgender child and how we will handle it. I think Bruce's story will be inspirational for generations to come.
Just finished watching it. It was incredibly brave of him coming out as a transgendered woman on national TV. I absolutely loved it!
Im really glad thay they spoke about the many tragic suicides, beatings, and murders that happen because of the lack of acceptance from friends, family, and the public. Its just so heartbreaking and I really hope his interview does indeed open minds and save lives.
It was so touching and emotional. I hope that this may open doors for other trans individuals who would like to come out. I'm not religious, but I would hope that anyone who is and follows the bible an its teachings would read the verses that speak about loving one another. That is what should be referenced, not out of date scripture that has now backed up the hating of others.
So glad to see there are so many supportive women on here. It gives me hope for the world our children will live in. Honestly, i didn't expect it for some reason ( not sure why.) Hopefully one day people universally will realize being gay or transgender is not a choice.

Deuterononmy 22:5
A woman must not wear mens clothing, nor a man wear womens clothing,, for the LORD your God detest anyone who does this.
I am a Christian and I don't believe the bible says to hate anyone. I believe it says we should love the sinner and hate the sin. That being said we are all sinners. We should all love each other no matter what type of lifestyle we choose to live.
@courtney198078 I never said I hated anyone but if your a Christian you know that it detest God. Why is it ok to hurt God?
It's not. But we should only be focused on our own sin and making sure WE are right with God, following the commandments he has put on our hearts. I don't think it's our place to look at someone else and say "hey! You're hurting God with your lifestyle choices! Stop sinning!!"
Don't worry about the speck in your friend's eye;)

so it says it pretty clearly.....
Seriously? Clothes? Well, take us all back to the 19th century, why don't you?

It's in Deuteronomy. Not that I agree with it. That's just where it is. I believe it's 20 something.
I was speaking specifically to what thE poster said about the scripture backing up the hating of others. Not referencing the transgender aspect of it. But God doesn't detest the person just the sin. And you and I are sinners too I may not care for that lifestyle but as a Christian I still love the person. I would never hate or judge them for their decisions because in Gods eyes your sins and my sine are just as bad as the murderer sitting on death row.
^ yes I agree. When judgment day comes God will know what to do. God's the only one who knows the heart and soul of a person.
On a different note I still like Brucilla (not sure what to call her) and I will continue to watch the show and her show coming out in summer. I always felt bad for bruce on KUWTK it was like his family would constantly walk on him and make him feel bad. I hope everyone to find peace and happiness.
@gatormom73 you have the verse right, but I don't know where you're getting your translation from. I'm Jewish, so your Old Testament is our Torah. It is written in Aramaic originally. I believe the verse translates more to "putting on a woman's garment is an abomination." Now, it also says that women should not wear men's clothes. Do you believe that every woman that wears pants is also an abomination that will have to face wrath on judgment day? If that is the case perhaps you would be better suited moving to the Duggers' area and wearing only modest clothing and modest swimsuits. Perhaps you already do this, which is perfectly fine by me! I believe in everybody's right to practice their own religion in the way that they choose. There is absolutely nothing wrong with dressing modestly, as a matter fact, I admire it as a treat and a lot of people even though I would never want to do it myself.
If I were to choose a biblical "stand," I would look to the 613 commandments. Namely numbers 70 and 71 which are derived from that same verse in Deuteronomy that you were referencing. It is commanded (sequentially) that men should not dress in women's clothing and women should not dress and men's clothing.
All that being said, in my heart of hearts I believe that it would be extraordinarily hypocritical to judge him based on him wearing women's clothes. I wear men's clothes all the time if you want to take gender down to whether or not a woman has to wear a skirt rather than pant or (gasp) shorts.
I think it's wonderful that Bruce Jenner can pave the way for others to feel that they can embrace who they truly are.
@Knottie1427773476 really wearing womens clothing to me isnt an awful horrible sin. . But to grow boobs and cut off parts God gave him is a whole other story. On the interview last night he pretty much came out and said that God messed up when he made him, and that he was suppose to be born a girl/woman. I just dont find that to be true, god made us all a certain way on purpose. . I mean he wouldnt have any of his beautiful children that he had with women if God would have made him a woman at birth.
@gatormom73 I respect your position, and I am certainly not arguing you're right to feel that way. I can understand why you feel the way that you do, and I think it is wonderful that you are open-minded when it comes to wearing clothing meant for the opposite sex.
The only thing that I am thinking, is that God also made the plastic surgeons and gave them the skill to be able to turn a man into a woman.
If you want to look towards changing what God made as a sin, then all plastic surgery that is not corrective is also a sin. Anybody who has a breast enlargement has send. Anybody who has a rhinoplasty, etc. etc. and so on.
I think where I'm actually coming from is the fact that if I took everything written down at face value, then there would be no infertility treatments that would be able to be done without going against God. I also believe strongly in the verse "be fruitful and multiply." Every child is a blessing, no matter how the child gets here.
I think that we both agree on the point that it is up to Bruce Jenner and everybody else to make their own decisions and that they will need to live with the consequences of those decisions whether they are positive or negative. I certainly appreciate where you're coming from. I think that a lot of this dissension might also be what one has grown up with and is considered acceptable in their community. I live in a city where there are tons of gay, bisexual and transgender people. I have grown up with it all around me so I don't view it as something that is shocking. I can definitely appreciate that for people that live in areas that this is not common, Bruce Jenner coming out as a transgendered woman is shocking to say the least.

I'd rather be like Bruce than half of the other clan. He's always been harmless and has tried to do right by all of his kids. Taking them to homeless shelters, teaching them the value of a dollar, hard work, etc etc. those are values that I admire. Along with being yourself.
I am not a religious person, I don't claim to be and likely never will be. The only person I am responsible for is myself, I admire people that are willing to stand up and have the courage to be who they are and love who they love.
My problem with the Bible is that is was written by men over 1000 yrs ago. Organized religion is a mechanism of control that is essential to patriarchal society. Not to mention that before that time period, God was a woman the world over, and all of the major religions (not just Christianity) cannibalized her symbols (i.e. the trinity). It's SCIENCE (anthropology)!!! Just kidding.
If you guys are interested in transgender issues though, check out this little girl... poor thing, but so brave!
She looks incredible. There is a little video on the Vanity Fair website about the issue coming out/her take on it, etc. I haven't followed the story that closely but I'm super thrilled for her to finally feel "free". We should all feel free to be who we are. Good for her ... and holy gorgeous!
She's like a totally different person! OMG, she's stunning! I had my doubts, thought he'd make an ugly woman but boy did she prove me wrong. I can't get over how great she looks. Good for her, she's finally happy.

Caitlyn looks wonderful (airbrushed or not). Regardless of what I believe, I'll say that much.
I am a Christian. That being said, this board has proven time and time again that none of us are really that capable of having a balanced argument about MEANINGLESS things, so let's not start to debate what for many of us is meaningful- religion, what the Bible says, or what we believe. If the point is to prove someone else wrong, point out someone else's faulty religion, or someone else's sin, it's pointless and we would all be doing it for the wrong reasons so leave it alone. This is written for both the believers and non-believers of this board.
I am a Christian, and my two sense is that first and foremost Jesus calls us to love one another. Period. No matter what. Although I personally don't agree, it is not my place to judge and I am not God. He knows the heart and struggles of every person and the bashing of the lgbt community really needs to come to an end. I am NOT saying that anyone on here was bashing, because I think this thread has been pretty respectful. I'm just saying that first and foremost- love one another.. Even if you don't agree with or condone a lifestyle.
