Trying to Get Pregnant

Question: Is this implantation bleeding? (HELP!)

Hello,

I'm rather new on this website, I joined sometime last week because BF and I decided to TTC last Wednesday, but due to some home issues with me and my parents, we've decided to stop TTC because of the stress it's putting on me, and we don't want to risk a miscarriage. Anyway, now I'll start my question by explaining my concern.

2 weeks ago (on Wednesday) I was supposed to get my period because I was on my pill. Usually I would wake up to it on Wednesday, but it didn't come. No spotting, cramping, cranky, anything. Zip. Nothing. So, I thought my period was late, which led me to think I was maybe pregnant (since I was being a little inconsistent with my pills). Well, that night at 10pm my period came. It was 12hrs late. I was on a 28 day cycle. It usually ended on the next Wednesday, so my periods are usually 7 days on the dot. But this time my period ended a day early. It ended on Monday night/Tuesday morning. It was weird. I shrugged it off, and told him what was going on. My period had never done that before. We both shrugged it off, and the next day (last Wednesday) he told me he wanted to try to have a baby, and I should stop taking my pills. I agreed, and so I stopped taking my pills.
I researched side effects of stopping the pill, and I found out that some women get their periods a few days after, and some get it months after. So, I was half expecting my period to come a few days later. Now, this is the weird part.
Sunday, I had light bleeding. It was very light, it was very on and off, and most of it was pinkish brown. I thought it was very odd, but shrugged it off. Monday, the bleeding was a little heavier (I went from wearing a pantyliner to wearing a pad), but the blood didn't fill up the pad. There was still a lot of brown discharge, and there was a little bit of pink and bright red blood as well. Still, very odd. Tuesday, It was a little heavier, but it slowed down, and pretty much stopped on Tuesday. There was still brown, and there was a little dark red at first. There was also a clot. It wasn't very big. Then later on Tuesday I changed my pad (I changed my pads regularly because I wanted to make sure I knew how much discharge I was having. None of the pads filled up) there was very light pink and a little brown discharge. Then this morning when I went to the bathroom there was one little pinkish brown dot. That's all.
This morning I also had light cramping on my left side. It only lasted for a minute, and then went away. But then I had this quick sharp pain on my left side, it only lasted a few seconds and went away. I also had light cramping on Monday as well. I'm planning on taking a hpt in a couple weeks to make sure that I am or am not pregnant.

I have also had a few pregnancy symptoms lately as well. I've had heartburn lately, I've been a bit gassy, and I've had heightened sense of smell that comes and goes. I've also been fatigued as well. Not as much lately, but I still feel like I need a nap in the middle of the day even when I get 8-8+ hours of sleep. My diet has been pretty much the same, and hasn't changed much. I've just been making sure to get vegetables, fruit, milk, and water into my daily diet instead of a few days a week. So, everything has been pretty much the same.

I did my research and read on implantation bleeding and clotting before I posted this, and I did read a few testimonials about women that did have clotting during IB, so I know it's possible. I also read testimonials of several women who've have implantation bleeding 2-4 days after conception, so I know that is possible too.
I also just got another light cramp. It's only on my left side though.

I know that this could just be from going off the pill, but I'm really hoping and praying that this is early pregnancy. I really want a baby, and so does my boyfriend. Please, if you can relate, or help me figure this thing out, then please please please help me out by leaving a comment.

Please comment, and help me out asap because I don't want to start my pills if this is possibly pregnancy. I don't want to risk hurting the baby.

  • Sooooo... you haven't taken a test then?  Anyone who has pregnancy symptoms would be far enough along to take a test.  If it is negative then you have your answer.  It sounds like you are not very familiar with fertility.  I suggest not reading random stories from strange women online.  Instead I suggest going on Amazon and ordering a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

Please be aware that NONE of us know if you are pregnant or if you are having implantation bleeding.  We are just a bunch of random ladies who do not know you.  We have no clue what's happening inside your uterus.

It's great that you are taking an interest in gaining more knowledge about this subject.  I encourage you to stay on this board and read the book I suggested.

  • OP - please read the guidelines and lurk around a bit.  These questions are generally frowned upon in this community.  However, to answer your question if you have enough hormones to give you pregnancy symptoms, then you have enough hormones to turn a test.  If you want to see if these are related take a test.  If it's negative, the symptoms are related to something else.

Also, you just got off the pill.  It can take time for your body to regulate.

Please do NOT read the testimonials of other women and think they would have an impact on your body.  Everyone is different.

Please download Fertility Friend and pick up a copy of Taking Control of Your Fertility.  This book will tell what you need to know about your body and fertility.

    Good luck on your journey.

  • Do a thread search to find many, countless, multiple answers to your very often asked question. But, first, read the guidelines. The ones posted at the very top of this board. The thread is called "Guidelines." Not very original, I agree; but still. Read the guidelines. SPOILER ALERT: you are breaking the rules by asking your question.

No worries though, because the penalty will be swift and just. And repetitive and seemingly (because I am pretty sure you have not sufficiently lurked-- because you did not attend to the aforementioned GUIDELINES) harsh and necessary. So very necessary.

I just wanted to know up front.  If I got the answer I suspect, I was just going to copy the link from the last thread and save us all some precious time.

Can someone not on mobile provide a link to all the advice we give to 20 year olds who are TTC?

Edit: Disregard as @heawilliams was already on it!

@heawilliams has us covered. Do not fret.
  • @TheBorg7of9

    1) I still want to try. My boyfriend doesn't. He thinks we should wait until things calm down at home before trying to conceive. I thought it was to prevent miscarriage because I was taught that stress can cause miscarriage.

    2) I'm planning on taking a pregnancy test next week or the week after. I'm not looking for people to tell me if I'm pregnant or not. I'm looking for anyone who has maybe experienced something similar to what I'm experiencing when they were trying to conceive because this is my first time trying to conceive, and I don't know what to look for. And I thought that maybe these could be signs or something. I dunno.

If I were to give the main reason reason I'd get torn apart even more.

So, I'll give one of the other reasons. My boyfriend and I have discussed it a lot. And we both know and feel that we are ready to have a child. I've always wanted to be a young mom. I'm ready for the responsibility of a baby, and so is my boyfriend.

It doesn't matter what anyone else experienced. Your body is its own.

Maybe, just maybe, you and your bf should grow up a little, get decent jobs and be financially stable enough to have a home before actively ttc. Getting knocked up is one thing, but purposely trying while still depending on your parents is ridicukous. I think your bf is correct that waiting for now is the best option.
  • @ecmb
Wow.... I worded that waaaaaaaaaayyyy wrong. No, my boyfriend does want to try still. He just doesn't want me to have the stress of my parents on top of trying to conceive. He still wants to try, he's just starting to think that maybe waiting until things cool down at home, and then trying to conceive again.

  • 1) I still want to try. My boyfriend doesn't.

Stop right there. If he says he isnt ready, you need to go to the doctor and then talk to them about getting back on BC. Have them do a pregnancy test before you start.
OMG there is so much more I want to say... I just cant even...
