I have so many random thoughts/vignettes that don't fit into existing threads but definitely don't need their own threads... Anyone else? I thought I'd start a thread for those types of things. Like the Twitter equivalent of a post!
3. My sister teased that she hopes I don't take her future baby name. But of course we aren't sharing our finalists and neither is she, so all we can do is both cross our fingers... Too funny.
I am really hating maternity clothes... I put on a shirt today that made me feel 10x bigger than I really am! And the options are becoming more and more limited!
My boss told me told hold the baby in until June 1 - we get a cost of living adjustment as of that day so my disability payment will be higher. Duly noted!

And everything is striped!
Or has some dorky pattern....like I get it we are supposed to be this chipper pregnant ladies but I don't need to wear bows and flowers everyday! Ugh!

I really didn't want to buy anything more, but it got into the 70s today and I realized I really don't have much for warmer weather. Luckily it's back to a high of 60 tomorrow. I might just rotate the same three shirts until I deliver! It's mostly in the boobs, too, that I feel uncomfortable, like it's all so revealing with the huge growth I've experienced!
There is another girl here in town - also named Melissa - who is due on June 28th. Her bf is a long time friend of the girl I became friends with here, so we're in each other's orbit not all the time, but enough. Its really weird in this small town, where I don't see hardly any pregnant women (not like in NY, where you could see some anywhere, any time) to have another girl with the same name as me, and be almost matching me in pregnancy. And she has been told that she will likely deliver early, around.... the 16-19th. If we both end up in labor at the same time, I may just go bonkers.
Also, neither of us will share our boy name with the other. I'm afraid she will come earlier than me (me being a ftm) and steal my name (she is having a boy).
I finally had a dream about my baby last night vs just being pregnant. It was so cool to see her, but like all my prego dreams it had to get weird. I dreamt I had her early and was formula feeding her. When someone asked me why I wasn't breast feeding I said I thought I couldn't start that until my due date, which was a couple of weeks away. They gave me a weird look and I decided to pump and bottle fed her (luckily I still had a milk supply). I'm a STM so this was so random...I guess I have some fears around breast feeding again.
@mellymar next time you bump into her could you both just share the first letter or how many letters in the name? I'd be pretty surprised if even that was the same.
And going off the other cheese thread but thought this fit better in the random category: wanted to say I have visited Wisconsin several times (I have a friend who lives near Beaver Dam) and both times I carted home pounds of cheese of all kinds. I had never heard of cheese curds or beer cheese before going there and man I wish they were a thing anywhere else in the country. And don't even get me started on Spotted Cow. I miss my WI yummies!
If I were German, this would be my last week of work. Their "mother protection" laws kick in 6 weeks before your due date (so, Friday for me). You can opt out of this 6 week period of your doctor and boss allow it, but you are legally required not to work for 8 weeks post-partum (longer if C-section).
DH's step-mom had a stroke many years ago. She means well, but was always a little off and is now moreso.
Yesterday she said, "I'm not going to ask about names, but you'll tell us when the baby is born, right?!" and then later, "I like that you want to be surprised, but you'll call and tell us if it's a boy or girl, right?!"
I answered both with a straight face but DH and I howled later!
Just because I know @klkonwi and some of the other ladies were into the Duggar daughter's birth - you guys mentioned she wanted a home delivery but then you saw the pic of her DH in scrubs? Anyways, so while I was at the store today I saw a magazine with her birth story in it and checked it out. Just cause. I didn't get to finish before it was my turn at the checkout, but did y'all know that lady had her water break, and then she went to the chiropractor to get adjusted before settling down to labor? :-/
i feel awkward/like im commenting too much when my replies are the last comments on more than like 3 threads and i feel like i need to actually wait. theres my social anxiety for ya.

Me too, and I am in a different time zone than the US, where it seems most ladies live!
Had a dream last night that I had SIX babies in the course of a year. Not sextuplets, 6 unique births, so like one baby every 2 months. It was awful. I want a big family, but not all at once! Thank God that's not possible! I couldn't remember any of their names or birthdays and it was all so overwhelming... thankful for the ONE baby I'm having this year!

I think she ended up with a c-section. I'll have to go visit the in laws to read their People.

Yeah, baby weighed about 10 pounds and she had a c-section
I had a dream I gave birth to my baby last night. It was oddly reassuring-I know the birth will suck and be painful, but something about that dream calmed my fears as a FTM about giving birth.
Also, it's cool and windy here-I hate wind, and I want it to warm back up in the 70's again like it was last week! Boo!
My friends sister sells a MLM product and she keeps friend requesting me on Facebook. A few months ago, I accepted it but she was clogging up my feed so I deleted her. Within the last 24 hours she has posted 17 times, a little excessive right?

That is crazy!!! I don't blame you for deleting her!
Wanted to share this because I think it's adorable: the shower that my mom's hosting for us is on Saturday. She's keeping it small, just family and a few very close family friends. One of the family friends is my mom's best friend from high school, whose five year old twins were my flower girl and ring bearer - actually, if you've ever seen me respond to some of the premie posts, they're the twins I know who were delivered at ~28 weeks and are now in perfect health. Anyway, my mom's friend texted me last night to show me a picture that her daughter had made of baby because they're getting super excited for the shower on Saturday! She also wrote baby's name all by herself - I'm sure my mom's friend told her how to spell it, but she did all the letters independently and she's super proud of it. I won't share that part because it has our baby's full name and, well, privacy, but here's the picture of baby:
@hoodoll82 I have mentioned the striped shirt thing about 32094835 times to my husband! I laugh because women are taught vertical stripes are slimming and horizontal typically make you look wider. Sooooo just because we're pregnant it's totally okay to call attention to my newly expanded wideness. It cracks me up and annoys the hell out of me all at the same time lol
my random, i keep having dreams that i had a ridiculously easy delivery, like so easy i forgot that i did it and i have to keep asking people what happened like "so did i get the epidural?" "It was a girl right?"... not sure if this is a good omen or possibly that I'm going to have the polar opposite experience.

I hate that. Huge pet peeve of mine!!! It makes us others who do it look so bad. I hate the new trend of getting "invited" to Facebook parties that are set up in a group, not an event. Dude! You didn't even give me a choice to say no to your crappy party, and then you post 180 times in it, clogging up my feed about your reviews of EACH product. SMH.
I'm a cheerleader for direct sales, but this really annoys me haha

Exactly! I don't mind the event ones but the group ones are annoying. Plus, what happened to actually having a real party instead of these social media "parties"? At least give me food while trying to get me to buy stuff I can't afford lol

It makes me so peeved to see all this happening. I do a hilarious show at my parties and my parties really ARE fun. I get the appeal of "party in your pajamas" thing from FB, but in person is so much better and you get to show people how the products work. (I guess it's different for me because I sell bedroom accessories and not jewelry or candles. A lot of ladies are confused or intimidated by sexual health topics, so it helps to be partying in person and not discussing their intimate lives over a Facebook group.) Annnd there's my addition to your soapbox!
I consider it a job well done if someone snorts her drink during my show.
I hate to have Rambo Cat come and get me for posting this, but I wanted to kick my cat last night for meowing NON-STOP for food in the middle of the night.
Demon in the middle of the night, precious angel right now. *headdesk*

Seriously though, I'm a million times more likely to buy something from someone at an actual party where I can see the product in person, and actually interact with people.. just getting a Facebook notification is not appealing to me at all. But oh well!
Bought a grilled chicken sandwich from a deli because I forgot to eat before coming to drop off my laundry..... It's gross. But I am still eating it like I haven't seen food in years.
Oh and another random: does anyone else check the name thread just to see if anyone else is using their baby name? It makes me so happy that no one is because I thought it was kind of common.

...No, but now I am!! lol
ETA: There are a few with the same first name, but that's to be expected as I'm pretty sure Olivia is in the top 10. No duplicates for the FN&MN combo (but honestly even if there were I wouldn't mind too much because I don't know any of you in real life and we did pick an extremely common name, haha)
Re: Weekly randoms
2. My neice drew me a pic of me as a turtle lying on my back bc she heard me say I felt like one. I laughed.
Can't think of anything to add at the moment.
Also, neither of us will share our boy name with the other. I'm afraid she will come earlier than me (me being a ftm) and steal my name (she is having a boy).
