  • My wtf Wednesday is that I'm 16 weeks today I've had about a week and a half of bliss but the last two days I've been nauseated dizzy and today while I was giving a massage at work I had to cut it short because I went into a cold sweat and was shaking so bad. I'm just so sick of feeling bad I thought I was out of the woods but apparently the pregnancy gods want to torture me in random moments. I get so depressed when I get like this. I become pretty useless and that's hard for me to swallow. I'm just over it I just want to feel somewhat normal and get through a day without feeling like I want to take a nap.
  • @insomniack17 that's terrible! What a b*tch.
  • I spent about 20 hours on a project at work. I even enlisted my husband's help as well as another coworker because it was extremely challenging. Apparently it still wasn't good enough and they are cutting it and making me come up with something else by today. The total disregard of the time I already put in it and the fact I have to start over NOW when I have zero time made me melt down to a puddle of tears. I also work another job and I have to work there today. I've been sick, sleep deprived, and stressed and this job isn't worth risking my health over. Ugh!!

  • @Liberty1025 You don't know her and you didn't see how much she ate. The amount of weight she gained was way over the recommended amount and the reason it isn't coming off is because she doesn't do anything but sleep. I watch what I eat and I have a very physical job so I'm the complete opposite of her. I'm not expecting anything to just "melt off" because I know it's going to take work to get there.

    ;)
  • Today I officially say WTF to whatever is causing my dizzy/faint spells and possibly having to get an EKG to figure it out. WTF, body?

The winner of my WTF Wednesday award is my damn brain!

I have a job interview after I get off work from my temp job today. I remembered last night to try out a pair of pants (I forgot to do this Monday night), which I thankfully can make work but I'll be SOL after this week, along with the rest of my outfit to make sure I could camouflage my bump as best I could. This morning, however, I walked out the door then remembered I forgot my coffee. Went back in the house to grab it only to realize that I didn't even make it! So I made it, was set to leave again, and realized that I didn't print my resume. Went to print it while yelling at the dog who wanted to help me get the resume paper out of the desk and stand on the chair, only to realize that I had the most recent resume saved on Google Drive because I forgot to save it to my computer! Now I'm 15 minutes late with leaving for work (I have a 45 minute drive) so I grabbed the resume paper and left and thankfully was able to print it at work. I cannot wait till my forgetfulness goes away and I can function normally again!

My husband is military and lives over 700 miles away I try to see him on average every 2 months....not much but we are making it work for now. I have had 2 people ask me questions along the lines of "how we're you all together to make that happen" or "how? Was it cybersex"....I'm thinking....first off my sex life is none of your business....Secondly how did it happen... well you see when a man loves loves a woman.....but really just weird. I mean are they wanting me to answer "nope it's my man on the sides baby?" (To clarify this is 100% not the case). I also had a lady ask me if I was getting fatter....wtf? How is that acceptable? I'm also over people telling me I can't lift stuff...I lift heavier normally and my dr. Said it's okay....you are not my dr....ughh

First, I accidentally clicked on the "report violation" icon trying to reply to your post! Sorry about that! Secondly, I wonder why people feel like our sex life isn't private anymore now that we're pregnant! Lol And lastly, there's nothing more annoying IMO than someone telling me I can't lift something. Sometimes I wonder why people are so quick to hop up and make sure I don't lift something or move a certain way, then I remember. Haha.. I know they mean well but seriously, like you said.. You're not my doctor! I'm pregnant not fragile haha

  • I have been waiting for today to finally post on this! This WTF goes out to my patient on Monday when I called him to come to the back he walked up to me, looked me up and down, and stated "What are you? 12!?" No sir, I am a 25 year old MARRIED woman who has a CHILD on the way, I am not 12! And then, after having him seating once again went on again to state to a fellow co worker "Oh, she's only 12." You sir, piss me off! I know I look young, but there's no way I look 12! And also to my coworker who felt it was ok to tell me to "Get over it, that's just the way he jokes around" Don't tell me how I should feel. Don't you know my hormones are crazy right now!?

    ugh.

  • I get this ALL the time at work from one lady! I forget one little thing and its "pregnancy brain"! and she proceeds to inform our clients of this as well! Like WTH! If I am hungry, its because I am pregnant, If I am tired, its because I am pregnant. I get frustrated with her and its those darn pregnancy hormones! I CANT STAND IT! She says she cant wait to feel the baby move so she can touch it all day long and talk to it. Im like, ummm nope, no ones touch the belly, she like "OH YES I WILL! YOU CANT STOP ME!" I cant take it anymore! Way to piss off a hormonal pregnant lady ;)
  • @joannabergeron, I get that too!  But somehow one time I was able to collect myself enough to respond (usually I just shut up and think of something to say later, and the moment passes) and said, "yeah, I got pregnant when I was five!"  (Our oldest was six years old at the time)

@Melzig76, you should totally hide the juice!  :)

@joannabergeron there's another girl pregnant at work. She asked how old I was because "I look like a baby." Thanks I am a baby... :/

My WTF is not even really mine! I was at the store yesterday there was a woman and her baby girl there, the baby had a port-wine stain around her eye. An older woman in the store asked the baby "did you fall and hit your eye?!" The mom had to tell her it was a birthmark. The older woman, "oh really? Well you look pretty anyways!" It had nothing to do with me, but "anyways"?!??! Really?
  • Omg I'm so sorry you cried!! Over doughnuts... But I understand!!
  • I had grumpy, emotionally unstable people taking turns pooping on me today! I'm nice and kind and patient... I don't act too preggo or hormonal or selfish.... So I get treated like crap!?!?! It's not fair!
I had a day... And now I'm feeling sorry for myself which is my least favorite feeling. It was truly a WTF Wednesday.

In my job I deal with poop almost daily, so I began to take this really literally and was totally there with you- dealing with poop while pregnant is hard. Then I realized it was not literal- which I also get. Sorry you had a day :-(
  • @jennsuzanne87 that's so funny! Yes I work with kids so there is often literal poop as well. But not today, it was just words and actions poop. Haha thanks for the support though :)
  • str13str13 member
@jennsuzanne87 @PregNancyClark I deal with poop at work too!! So I thought it was actual poop we were talking about too!! Lol
  • This is along different lines than the poop issue haha, but my lovely stray cat left a dead baby bunny on my doorstep tonight and it just broke my heart seeing it there. He's such a killer, and usually the rodents don't bother me, but a soft baby bunny? WTF kitty?!!! And I can't do anything with it because being pregnant and disposing of wild rodents makes me nervous, so I'm just waiting for hubby to get home so he can remove the poor little thing from our front steps. :-(
  • Mine goes to this lady i passed in a parking lot...shes like, wow your hanging really low you must be due any day now! And i said actually no i am just getting started and she asked, really how far along are you? When i said 4 1/2 months she didnt know what to do or say other than stumble on her words. When i got in my car i thought, wtf?! why did i give her any sort of explanation to anything? I should have just smiled and kept walking...
  • @PregNancyClark, @str13 it's a good thing it's twatwafflethursday now because I get to work with a student who has pica... there will lots of choose your own adventure poops today. Happy thursday!!! *in all seriousness, I do love this student very much*

@mrscaterosales, poor thing! I bet your cat was like: "EAT IT HUMAN. You need to nourish the baby!" I can't handle little rodent demise either- I feel ya.

  • Ok I have one like every day but this one is the one that bugs me the most!! At the moment we have one of my partners friends staying with us while he transfers his family to our state. While I love helping him and his family this guy is REALLY grinding my gears!! From correcting me on EVERYTHING I say trying to say I'm wrong ( including why I needed to have a c-section with my first child!! I'm sorry dude but I don't actually recall you being in the room that day!! But the main thing is he isn't paying any money to help with food, which is causing us to struggle even more financially cos he eats like a horse, AND I cook for everyone every night, which I obviously don't mind BUT this guy then proceeds to wash only his dish and nothing else. I'm sorry but the way I was raised that if there is dishes to do, you do them ALL! Especially if your staying for a period of time like this fella is!! I think he's getting hint he needs to hurry up and find a place ASAP as I'm asking him every afternoon how the house hunt is going lol PLUS he's in the room that will be the nursery and I want to decorate damnit!! Get out!

I know it's not Wednesday yet, but I really wanted to ask him WTF!

I'm a temp at a community college in PA and I had been at work for 30 minutes when a faculty member came into my office to 1) ask if he could leave a few of his students papers in here so they wouldn't get wet when he took a shower after his workout. I really wanted to ask him if he had ever heard of putting them in a F'ing locker away from the showers? and 2) that I look great today because I have no bags under my eyes. Seriously? I don't think I've ever had bags under my eyes because I am still capable of getting a good night's sleep still. Who the F says that?

I also don't like having discussions about certain topics with this faculty member because he's a chauvinist and an asshat. For example, I used to teach at a public high school in an excellent school district in CT years ago and yes, a fair amount of students were bussed to this district (Hartford's schools were severely overcrowded at the time, among other reasons) and his view on public schools is that they shouldn't exist and that all students should have a voucher to choose if they want to attend a private, charter, montessori, or public school for their education. This way, public schools lose their funding and have to close because all public schools give students a terrible education. I went to a public school and got a good education. My husband attended one of the best public schools in Westchester County, NY and got a good education, so have millions of others who have attended public schools! The kicker with this: HE WORKS FOR A PUBLIC COMMUNITY COLLEGE!!!!!! I'm all for education reform for the better, but WTF?!?!?!

    Here we go!

I was told today that my admin team was thinking of moving me to a different subject area next year (I'm a teacher). One I've never taught before. One that no one else is teaching. One with the most behavior and academically challenging students because I "am good with those kinds of kids". Okay. Really!? WTF admin! So you think it's a good idea to move someone who will 1) be out for months- because I so will take off using FMLA from late Sep to early Jan (thanks to all the holiday breaks). 2) No one else does that subject so my sub will have nothing to work with 3) Eventually I would be coming back to a more stressful job while trying to take care of my new born.

  • @MiromiM- I have SO many wtfs regarding admin in my district. SO SO SO many. They pretty much do what they want to, and what works best for them regardless of teachers- let alone students.

@jennsuzanne87 The thing is it won't work best for them either. I have no materials to offer the sub to continue teaching my class once I go out on maternity leave and I refuse to waste my summer planning for that. My department head has no idea who will be doing the planning (when I asked him his eyes got big and he literally said "oh yeah"). Leaving my class like that wouldn't be too difficult (academically) for me because the two semesters have completely different, unrelated information. So if the students don't master the material because of the substitute, I won't be struggling to catch them up. I'll just be moving on to new unrelated things. And I will do everything in my power to be out until the semester ends and let everyone else sort through what will surely be chaos with poorly behaving, academically challenged students and a long term sub who has no clue what to do with them. I know it sounds cruel but I'm hitting hard core teacher survival mode here. I did not struggle with IF for 3 years only to have my baby and this pile of poop in my lap. If admin is passing poop around, I have no problem letting them have their helping.

In the end they'd have to hire someone to replace me in my current subject anyways. And in my current subject I have day to day lesson plans, activities, PPTs, labs, quizzes, ect. that my sub can use and a coworker who also teaches the same thing. Why not just put the new person in the new position and leave me when I am?

I truly believe it's because people forgot I was pregnant (because I'm not showing and I'm working my butt off) and my principle wasn't aware of my 'condition' even though other people in admin are. I hope to speak with her soon and try to get this matter resolved.

@jennsuzanne87 I reminded him they were still here before he left and his reasoning was that he was going to have a wet towel in his bag and he didn't want them in there. I personally wouldn't put any student's papers in my gym bag, which is why I usually have a drawstring bag tucked in my gym back for such purposes of keeping things separate. He's just a very strange duck. Half the crap that comes out of his mouth makes him seem like a complete ass. He didn't even come back for them yesterday and they're still sitting here.  :-w

@miromim I'm frustrated for you! I miss teaching, but I don't miss dealing with that type of crap. Hope that your school gets their poop together.

  • my wtf is one of my best and oldest friends commented on my sex reveal facebook post that I shouldn't be too sure because he knows someone who was told wrong. and proceeded to argue the point for several comments after both I and another friend told him to stop.

come to think of it, he has been a doomsayer this whole pregnancy. his wife had a hard time with hers and had an emergency c-section, and all he wants to talk about is all the things that can go wrong. I wish he could just be happy for me, especially after he was so supportive thro my miscarriage. I guess I'm still lucky tho because he's pretty much the only person being negative, everyone else is excited for me.
  • (come to think of it, he's also the only person who was strongly hoping I would have a boy, so maybe he's hoping the scan is wrong. lol. but hubby and I wanted a girl, and I think our opinions should count more!)
