I'm from Oregon and I'm a middle school language arts teacher. I have no idea what to do about next year because as hard as it would be to leave my "kids" at school, I can only imagine how hard it would be to leave my baby at home!
Hi all!!! I'm Canadian, so I am elegible for 1 year off paid. I'm a primary teacher, and have 2 kids already (4,2) so I'll take the summer off, and then supply until October when baby #3 arrives!
Not sure what I will do after as 3 kids under 6 sound like a job for a full time mom
Hi e everyone. I'm a pharmacy technician at an inpatient pharmacy in a local hospital. I would LOVE to be a SAHM but financially that is not an option right now. I'm from Minnesota and we plan on staying here, though we may move north further to open a business/expand our online business. We sell fishing and boating gear online part time.
Hi ladies, I am a foster care licensing Consultant and license foster homes for a private non-profit agency. I'm 6 weeks 4 days and haven't told my bosses I'm pregnant yet but plan on it after my first appointment on the 26th. Ultimately I have 12 weeks off but am really debating on going back after I have the baby. I also have a 3 1/2 year old and feel like this would be the right time to be stay at home mom and help my husband flourish his business.
But overall, I'm probably dreaming and will return after 12 weeks lol.
I'm a nurse. I work in inpatient education and research. I am also a family nurse practitioner student right smack in the middle of a very intense program, funny enough this is our women's health rotation.
Hey ladies! I am a high school RN. These crazy kids def keep me on my toes! I am also getting worn out way easier these days at work! This is my first pregnancy so I am learning more and more about my body every day!
I am in south Africa and I am a staff nurse, I will have to go back to work as I am the one that has medical aid. With my oldest child he has a few medical conditions. He is at a wonderful daycare and keeps me sooooo busy and that is okay. I love him and I love this little bean. I have husband but here in sa a lot of things are so expensive and I make good money. I love my Job to. Moms please don't judge but I feel as I studied hard to get where I am. I have been in my job for 5 years now.
I work at a fairly high end jewellery store. I love it. The only problem is with our small staff and it being all women - I don't know how long I'll be able to hide it from my coworkers. I would love to return to work after pregnancy but only part time. I do look forward to being a stay at home mommy during my maternity leave. Who knows? Maybe I'll continue to be if money is fine.
I am a high school ELA teacher and plan to take 9-12 weeks depending on how the end of pregnancy goes. I took 10 weeks last time, which didn't quite feel like enough (is it ever?), but since I have to use all of my sick and personal days I save up in order to get some of it as paid leave, I don't know how many I'll have left to use. Thankfully, some of that time will be Thanksgiving and winter break!
I'm a software developer. As I am in Germany, both my husband and I have generous paid parental leave (3 months at 100% for me and then 14 months at 65% to share between us - we'll probably split that 7/7)
I'm a copywriter for the eCommerce division of a food storage company. I hate it. LOL. What I do, I could do from home but the company I work for is stuck in 1954. My husband and I are exploring options for me to work from home after the baby arrives. I don't want to leave our child with anyone and daycare is expensive. I'm hoping that I find something that works for us during my maternity leave so I can easily make the transition.
I work long hours and travel a lot for my job: communications consultant. Was just promoted to lead our NYC office (delighted!), and am 7 weeks pregnant... Not sure what I'll do when baby comes (my first), but feeling conflicted. Never been the type to not work hard at the office, but no idea how much motherhood will change things. Guess we'll figure it out in time...
Congrats to all of you - so nice to connect with other moms to be.
I'm the Children's Ministry Director at my Church, and a full time student. I probably won't get anytime off, but just work from home for a couple of weeks, thankfully we will be at the start of our slow time of year (VBS will be done). And I will be taking at least one semester off school. I'm hoping to bring LO #2 to work for a couple of months!!

Hi y'all! I'm 21 and I'm a nanny for two girls age 7 & 9. I've been working for their parents for about a year and I really don't know how I'm going to tell them I'm expecting! I don't make enough money there so I'm looking for another job. I'm hoping to get this full time Vet Assistant job I just had an interview with. wish me luck!!
Until January I was a teacher. I recently quit my job to spend more time with my 2 year old son and I work from home as a fitness coach/nutrition coach. Then we found out on Valentine's Day that we would be expecting so it was all rest timing!
I work in Accounting and I get 6 weeks off, but I'm working a side business that I might be able to build enough so that I can stay at home and just do the new job from home. I will have to work after the baby is born, but I don't know for sure which job I'll be working. I did IVF to become pregnant. I am 5 weeks and 1 day. I go for my first ultrasound tomorrow at the fertility clinic. I should be discharged to a regular OB in a few weeks.
I'm a nursing student, going to eventually get my CNM and deliver babies!

I'm a full time graphic designer at an insurance company. Also, in my second year of school for my masters in web design and development at DU. Hoping to take 12 weeks off and start right back up.
Hello! I'm a high school English teacher and I was really shooting to be due in the summer! I missed by 3 months ha! I'm so glad to see there are some other teachers on here. Has anyone told their principals yet? As of now I plan on waiting until 13weeks, what about you guys?
Hello all! Excited to be in the OctoMoms club (I'm actually rethinking calling us that). I'm a nurse and a statistician. I work in South Florida for the Epidemiology Division of the DOH. I do case investigations for certain infectious diseases (Ebola was big a few months ago, now we're dealing with measles surveillance), and I also do case abstraction for our county's FIMR Project. That makes being pregnant (5 weeks 4 days, due 10/16) a little more emotional, since I do case reviews for infant and fetal deaths. It's heart breaking work sometimes, but so necessary when areas are still dealing with huge disproportions in pregnancy outcomes within different racial and socioeconomic groups. Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all over the next several months
I am an assistant purchasing director and am supposed to be the director in December. I am the sole bread winner. My fiancé went back to school and this is his last semester. Because I make the money, my maternity leave will be short but the fiance and I are seriously considering him being a stay at home dad.
Similar here: hubs works full time right now and is in school part time but the shift to him being a stay at home Dad while finishing school is in the mix. I'm a project manager - will take leave and go back after with some work from home days scheduled in.
I'm in Oregon and I work as a writer (I know, I know). I've worked really hard to be in a creative position and now, a year after starting my job, I am pregnant!! However, I work at a really great company owned by a husband and wife team with their own two little ones -- they both believe in work life balance. We're allowed to work from home as we wish -- as long as we get our work done and check in with them occasionally, they do not care! I'm planning to work until I have the baby and then take two months off before I start working from home 3-4 days a week (only one week in the office at that). My mom has already offered to provide care for the days I need to be physically at work or if I need a break (she has watched my two nephews five days a week for my sister for over five years and while she was looking forward to a break, she's excited to watch my baby too!) I'm really lucky to have a job that is so flexible and offers me so many options. I do a lot of freelance work as well, which helps with the finances, definitely.
I'm an RN and right now we have three other pregnant women in my department! (There must be something in the water- haha!) they're due in March-April-May, and I'm not due until oct so they'll luckily be back from their maternity leave when I leave. I hope to take as much time off as possible, but I'm not sure how much I'm able to at the point so I still need to look into it
Hello all! I am a 24 yr old, Receptionist and Administrative Assistant for a company that manufactures Cardboard Cutouts and displays. It's actually a really fun and great company. DH is currently out of work (really hoping that changes soon!) So it's important for me to keep working. I plan on going back after baby is here but hope to someday run my own cake business out of my home.
I'm 35 and this is my 1st. I'm 7 weeks. I am a firefighter and hope to start light duty in April. I'm in south Florida. After baby I hope to stay home for 3 months then come back to work. I work 24 hour shifts. Grandma plans to help us out. But my husband is a strong believer of "stay-at-home moms" so we will see once baby is here. I'm very excited.
I'm a paralegal who has regular court appearances all over southern Ontario which requires a lot of travel. How do you do it with all the nausea?? I'm worried I'm going to be sick all over the courtroom! So stressful because I haven't told my boss yet, waiting for the 12 week mark.
Hi everyone! I'm new to the community! I am a Medical Assistant at a medical facility contracted by Disney! Been in the field for about 6 yrs and I love it! I will take a leave once the baby is here, but will definitely return post baby. I love what I do.
I was an elementary school teacher, but became a stay at home mommy when my first was born Oct 2013. So blessed excited to have baby #2 join us this Oct! Best job ever!
I'm a labor & delivery nurse, and I do plan on going back. I ♡my job! But it makes me nervous since I'm in the field, I know what can go wrong Must be optimistic!
I'm a 5th and 6th grade humanities teacher. I plan to take of until our 2 week Christmas break, have those additional 2 weeks off and then return in January. I would love to take the year off, but I'll settle for working 5 months after the baby is born.
I'm an educator for a skincare brand in the UK. We get 52 weeks maternity leave here that's paid for 39 weeks. So I'm taking a year off and then making my decision. A lot depends on whether I can carry on with my job as there's lots of travelling involved. Not ideal with a little one. My hubby travels too and I know he'd like me at home for at least a year or two once the baby is here
Hey yall!! I am a surgical assistant for a very busy oral and maxillofacial surgery group. I LOVE my job but it's starting to get very physically demanding. I only get like 6-8 weeks of maternity leave and plan on going back. Time get on setting up daycare!
